  1. Fire Emblem 6: Sword of Seals Hard Mode Tagteam Playthrough (Starring Refa, Horace, Shin, Jedi, Elieson, SB.) Five people (and Refa, who plays with the strength of ten men) endeavor to beat FE6...together (contrary to popular belief, this actually makes things way hard than they need to be, not easier)! Can they do it (spoiler: yes, as long as noone is a huge dick)? More importantly, will they do it (probably not, Refa is a lazy jerk)? There's only one way to find out (citation needed). After all, this sure is a thing that noone has ever seen or done before. The only rules are 1. Don't be a dick, and 2. Fucking pay attention to Rule #1. Get that, got that, good. Let's get this show on the run with Elieson's update, coming to you soon uh...I don't actually know when the fuck the update is. Whoops. Will keep links and stuff here in the first post. So yeah, get hype and stuff.
  2. Don't ask how, (because I have no idea what happens to get the player elected into office when the game begins,) but each and every one of us has simultaneously been elected Prime Minister of Australia. Congratulations! (And God save us/AUS) NOTE: after actually writing this damned thing, I realized how impenetrable it looked. Know that you don't actually have read the vast majority of this shit to participate, just find the other bolded section halfway through this post. An introduction: Democracy 3 is a political strategy game I've been having maybe a bit too much fun in getting acquainted with over the past week (or at least it was when I started writing this bloody thing). On finishing a successful term in the 4th of the 6 starter nations so far, I remembered that we have some Aussies on SF, so thought a playthrough of Australia where I ask for their input (and yours as well, even if you aren't Australian) might be fun. So let's get to it! (Also, a new DLC, Clones & Drones, came out while I was in the middle of making this post, so this will also be a blind test run of the new stuff in that) To wit, some explanations of the game itself, its abstractions/mechanics, and the odd self-imposed restriction we'll be taking on: Democracy 3 can be thought of as a sandbox in which to try to simulate your personal ideal democracy, but you're probably all better off thinking of it in gamier terms, at least to start with.* What that means is that while, say, going straight to legalizing all drugs, near-completely defunding the military, totally outlawing abortion or other such extreme shifts in policy (depending on what the policies are to start with in the nation you're playing, of course) are all things you can technically do almost as soon as you please, and they make for a special sort of fun to deal with, there's a strong chance that: A) In many/most cases this will see much less material benefit to your country than you'd probably be hoping would be the case, at least not in return for taking the risk of getting a lot of people pissed off at you (at least if you're "playing to win"), B) Indeed, depending on the sizes and attitudes of the various political factions in the game's not-always-100%-accurate version of the chosen country, you may piss off one of them badly enough for them to get it in their heads assassinate you! (Factions I've yet been assassinated and nearly-assassinated by so far during my play time, in roughly the order of most-to-least-frequent attempts: Religious, Capitalists, Socialists, Ethnic Minorities, Liberals, and Environmentalists.) And, C) Every one of the countries starts off with both a sizable budget deficit and a bunch of other specific problems of varying financial and social costs, designated Negative Situations, which are already making your constituents more unhappy and screwing with your finances. If you're not careful about it, your preferred social reform could just make those situations worse, or, maybe even more damningly, it could make implementing the solutions to the country's ongoing problems just plain take more time than you can spare. E: *When you're just picking up the game, that is. Don't feel like I expressed this well in the earlier versions of this post- for the purposes of the LP, you guys can feel free to do tell me to do whatever. If you want to have our first order of business be to ban divorce or something, you may be my guests. [spoiler=THAT OUT OF THE WAY, LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED]The game's selection screen and some factoids (the accuracy of which I have neglected to check): Our settings: First overview screen after starting the playthrough. Despite, as we'll soon see, our abysmal popularity, we apparently managed to get ourselves elected. Democracy, everybody The screen Democracy 3 players probably spend most play time of any looking at, a gateway to all current policies (grey), problems (red) and specific statistics/measures of our success, like "Car usage" and "Education level" (blue). Note the bright, candylike colors. They are all enemies of the state. Except green. Blue is neutral. There's no limit to the number of 5-year terms you can serve by default in Australia's standard settings, but we'll be limiting ourselves to 2 terms, just to challenge ourselves. We will also be cranking up the difficulty to 200%, because we're hardcore like that, and what could possibly go wrong anyway really. We'll be leaving the rest of the settings on the defaults for Australia. (Did you know Australia doesn't experience earthquakes? Me neither.) Unless and until somebody comes up with a suggestion for any replacement names to kick their asses, I've named us The Serenes Party, and kept the random opposition party name initially handed to us, The Jehovah Party. (If you're gonna suggest replacements, lay em on me as soon as possible, I'll have to start another game to put them in. Not a big deal to start with, but if it happens after we get going, it'll necessitate undoing progress) Note that Democracy 3 doesn't actually even try to simulate how an antagonist political party would actually behave; our opposition party's just assumed to be against whatever our position is on every single issue (attempting to quote Democracy 3's tutorial/manual as close to verbatim as possible here). *ABSTRACTION ALERT.* *ALSO MAYBE A BIT OF SASS ON THE GAME'S PART. JUST KIDDING REPUBLICANS DEMOCRATS EVERYONE.* [spoiler=PAGES AND PAGES OF SHIT ABOUT THE MECHANICS THAT YOU REALLY DON'T NEED TO KNOW, EITHER TO PARTICIPATE OR TO FOLLOW ALONG, BUT WHICH I'LL PUT DOWN FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO KNOW WHAT SORTS OF THINGS I'M DOING TURN-TO-TURN UNDER THE HOOD]How the actual meat of the gameplay works: A bunch of different figures used to measure our great society, like GDP and unemployment and education and poverty and the state of our environment and crime and the list goes on basically, will start out at certain levels to begin with which are correspondent to the policies that are already in place. Some of these aspects have generally desirable consequences to raise, like GDP, education, and the state of our environment, and some of these we will generally be desiring to lower, like unemployment, poverty, and crime. We will accomplish this by passing some new Policies, and altering (and perhaps cancelling) state funding for some others which are already in place. (Unfortunately, this game doesn't represent quite every policy issue you policy wonks/regular human beings with strong opinions about certain things in politics out there could possibly desire to see the game touch on, and you may find some of the ways that it portrays what is there to not be to your liking, but we must soldier on regardless. Also that may be what mods are for. Steam workshop support baby) We will accomplish that by spending "Political Capital" points. *ABSTRACTION ALERT. ABSTRACTION ALERT.* Political Capital is a measure of the amount of legislating we can justify and get done in a period of about 3 months, according to the game. We get a certain amount each turn, and enacting, altering, and canceling policies requires us to spend certain amounts of it, generally a different cost for all 3 with regard to a given policy- enacting, increasing funding for, decreasing funding for, and canceling a policy can and generally will have different Political Capital costs for each. (Yeah, this is long-winded, but you're the one who wanted to peek under the hood, boss.) Some policies cost a small enough amount to alter for our purposes that we can pass 5 or 10 of them in a single turn, and some policy implementations may have us sitting on a fair share of that sweet PC for a turn or more. *ART IMITATES LIFE ALERT* SHIT THAT'S EVEN LESS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO KNOW IN ORDER TO FOLLOW ALONG, BUT WHICH HAS YET MORE BEARING ON ACTUAL TURN-TO-TURN GAMEPLAY DECISIONS: Our Total Political Capital points per turn are "generated" by our cabinet of ministers, or rather each minister generates their own amount each turn. There's a discrete pool of candidates from which to choose ministers (although I've seen more generated over time each playthrough, perhaps in some kind of response to resignations/firings, changes in minister happiness, or just time), and at the outset they each generate a unique amount of Political Capital, which vaguely corresponds with the level of their beginning Loyalty stat, which can also just be thought of as Happiness. We have one minister for each of the 7 spheres of administration. TRANSLATION, FURTHER EXPLANATION: each ministerial candidate has a few unique stats (other than their name, gender etc): -Loyalty, which determines how much Political Capital they generate per turn (maxes out at or around 5.3), and will go up or down (PC generated bottoms out at 1.0) from its starting point, depending on how happy the minister is with our decisions (it can only go up or down gradually, over time spent in our cabinet). If a minister's Loyalty gets low enough, they'll warn us that they're thinking of resigning, and if it gets much lower than that, they will! -Two political factions that they're sympathetic towards, one primary and one secondary, whose current happiness level with our government will determine whether the amount of PC the minister generates each turn (again, basically their Loyalty stat) slowly grows, slowly declines, or stays level. The given factions will get a happiness bonus for each minister in our cabinet who sympathizes with them as long as they're with us, but if those ministers are either fired or resign, the faction's approval will get take an equivalent hit! (One of my first bright ideas was to hire ministers who liked factions I was already on bad terms with in the beginning, and/or with whom I assumed my relationship would deteriorate over time because of the policies I planned to enact. Didn't go so hot then. Probably wouldn't recommend, at least not to beginners.) -Experience, which determines the size and direction of small modifiers to: the time needed to implement (changes in) a policy, the magnitude of its effects, and the costs of implementing it, for all policies in that minister's sphere of administration. Each minister has a different amount of experience to start with, but the only way to increase it is with time. This also caps out eventually, though I forget what the policy modifiers are when exp gets maxed. -Preferred Jobs; which 3 spheres of administration they'll be most happy to administer, most-to-least. Another thing that affects loyalty. Spheres of Administration (we have a minister for all of them, and all policies fall into one of them): Foreign Policy, Welfare, Economy, Tax, Public Services, Law and Order, and Transport. [spoiler=EVEN MORE SHIT ABOUT MINISTERS]At least up until the most recent DLC, there's a fully-selected default cabinet which always picks the same ministers for the same jobs (oddly, the initially available ministers are always listed in the same order and have the same portrait/stats, just different names depending on the country. if we recreate the file to give the parties new names, our ministers may all suddenly get name changes), but the 26 Political Capital per turn they give is a bit mediocre, especially if we want to get the big PC spenders (which includes a lot of the substantial tax increasing options) out of the way first. (and also especially if we assume that the amount they generate per turn is going to go down over time, as tends to be the case when I play this game, for, uh, some reason.) Also, I'd prefer to personally pick which factions we have to worry about our ministers betraying us for. Side note: the maximum number of PC points we can hold at a time is equal to double the PC we get per turn, except for the period right after we're elected, when it's 60 no matter what. The game doesn't have an enormous lot of options that are absolute must-takes which cost over 40, and even that's setting it a bit high, so this won't be of that much consequence, but on the other hand there's a couple of policies that we may find ourselves unable to even save up for if we piss our ministers off by enough. (Australia may be the only country in the game that starts with one of my pet favorite policies IRL, stem cell research, which costs a whopping 45 PC to enact, so. Lucked out there.) Choosing to reshuffle the entire cabinet at once costs 10 PC itself, and docks us a similar, brief happiness hit with all our constituents (noted as the "Everyone" faction) (which does indeed include Everyone) similar to firing one of them, but I've generally found the extra PC per turn gained early on to be worth it (although I haven't actually worked out the math, zzzzz etc). Along with the other benefits of choosing my own noose. ON THOSE NOTES, YET MORE SHIT, ON POLITICAL FACTIONS: I was gonna try to give a more robust description of the IMO impressive voter system in Democracy 3, but it was taking way too long, so! Something close enough to the gist: Each "simulated voter" in the game is influenced by different factions to differing degrees (as in they may care about both the Farmers' concerns and the Capitalists', but care more about the Farmers'), each faction influences different percentages of the population depending on which country it is, and the happiness of each faction (based on their overall opinion of our policies, generally those which they feel affect them) which affects a single voter adds up to whether or not that voter is happy with, and will vote for us. *ART ATTEMPTS TO IMITATE LIFE, MIGHT ACTUALLY DO AN OKAY JOB ALERT* [spoiler=AN ILLUSTRATED EXAMPLE, WHICH I HOPE TO GOD EXPLAINS IT BETTER THAN THAT GRUESOME RUN-ON SENTENCE] The implementation of the factions' relations to assassinations, on the other hand... oy. [spoiler=OH GOD DO I HAVE TO] Rough, rough, rough version of how assassinations work in gameplay: when a faction [which I'm assuming must actually have a certain level of prominence in our country- I had Capitalists perpetually in the red in my France playthrough just because of the policies in place at the beginning (Socialists have an overwhelming share in the game's France), but they never tried to kill me then. I just got a couple "angry newspaper" events, while they killed me plenty of times as the U.S.] gets pissed off enough at our decisions and the status quo, more of the population will join first the interest groups in the top part of this screen, then (after I'm-not-sure-what-else happens) will start joining the corresponding terrorist group on the bottom, one of the groups with the pistol by the name. When the group has enough members and its bar on the bottom fills up, that faction tries to assassinate us. The assassination is more likely to fail if we've jacked up the spending on our country's intelligence agencies and armed forces (one policy each), but we can generally avoid anybody even trying if we just pay the country's strongest factions their due diligence. (That is absolutely not a guarantee that I'll play well enough to avoid it, though.) Good news: warnings generally pop up when one of the terrorist groups is about to try to kill us. Bad news: depending on how pissed they are and on your available measures to placate them, that warning can easily come too late. Best to enact conciliatory policies ahead of time, especially because many policies/policy changes can take multiple turns to go into effect. [spoiler=NEW RULE: EVERYBODY GETS ONE (1) RANT ON SOMETHING THEY THINK DEMOCRACY 3 DOES WRONG. HERE, KNEECAPPED AND STUFFED IN A CORNER, LIES MINE. (RIP)] I really want to rant here about how one can be assassinated in this game while plainly moving mountains to try to please whichever faction, and "how fucking pissed and/or brainless would a bunch of capitalists in particular have to be to think assassinating their G20 country's head of government would be a good idea and/or do anything at all to make their situation better, Jesus Christ," but I do have to admit assassinations may keep the player more on their toes trying to keep various sorts of constituents pleased than would be politically realistic if they weren't part of the game as-is. (although it would be nice if different factions being pissed off had more grounded and differentiated effects) To help decide how we'll govern, I ask each of you to submit 2 things: -Which of the currently ongoing 8 Negative Situations (those big red buttons on the main screen) to tackle first, and/or to give general priority to fixing -Preferences regarding what you'd like to see happen during our tenure.* More general things will be easier to address, but feel free to get specific, too. You may also suggest a name for our party, and for our opposition. *For example, when I asked Ike-Mike, AKA Bigguss Bossuss, what to prioritize during The Ike-Mike Party's tenure in a previous two-term playthrough of Germany, his defining start instructions were: to remedy the national debt situation without slashing public funding for either education or health, and to relax border controls against immigration. Since it happened that all these instructions were directly represented by the game, each directive was executed with distinction. I won't always be able to guarantee that what you want to see happen will be something the game can successfully simulate as easily as it could for those requests, but I'll do everything in our power to take it on! (For another example, Parrhesia had the awesome suggestion to close the real world's ~8 year average life-expectancy gap between Australian Aboriginals and the rest of the population, but Democracy 3 tends to couch the gameplay in broad terms that don't change the basic situations much between specific nations, and we're not going to get a popup for that or anything. What I can do on that front, however, is to push extra hard to increase the happiness of the Ethnic Minorities faction, and Australia's scores for Health and Equality, while decreasing its Poverty and Racial Tension scores. Feel free to suggest as much specific reality-inspired stuff as you'd like, just be prepared for its accomplishing to require some creative license to interpret.) At the same time as I'm addressing The Serenes Party's concerns, I will also be working to address the deficit between our Income and Expenditures figures. Whether for the sake of gameplay or thanks to the positions of its creator(s), Democracy 3's portrayal of the consequences of budget-wrangling are maybe less than completely true to reality (as are plenty of other things in the game, but I've had my rant already), if still arguably somewhat analogous to it. Basically, in my small share of experience playing Democracy 3, spending deficits of any size are Bad News, and the longer we have one the more likely it is that our credit rating will be downgraded. This will piss off the Capitalist faction a bit and decrease our GDP, which will decrease our income, which will grow the deficit unless we take more drastic action to compensate, which could lead to our credit rating getting downgraded again, and thus the cycle may continue until the sea reclaims everything (or more likely until the Capitalist faction decides to assassinate us), etc. And if our overall debt (also tracked by the game, though only shown in a backroom chart) gets high enough, the Debt Crisis negative situation (if I remember the name correctly) will trigger, and that's another, even more massive hit to GDP and basically everybody's opinion of us and our ability to balance your budget right there, and basically any time I've ever had that fucking thing trigger I've spiraled into the depths without a prayer of reviving right quick, SO. Unless and until you guys expressly tell me you'd like to see this shit run into the ground, fixing the deficit is going to be roughly as strong a priority as translating Serenes' directives into action. (This is probably gonna require at least some nasty tax increases. Sorry fiscal conservatives, but this game never met a tax it didn't like.) (Except for the ones it kinda doesn't) CONTENTS OF THE NEXT POSTS, CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION: more overviews of The Situation, including a list of our incumbent policies, a list of the ways in which our country is measured, a list of policies we can enact, the Negative Situations, and political faction demographics. I know, I can't wait either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeKxx-Pq1hk
  3. So, yeah. I'm doing this. This is a run of Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem (both books) where I will only use Marth and female units. Male units besides Marth can't see combat, open doors or chests, be danced for, or be the target of a status stave(excepting staves that affect all units). The only things male units beside Marth are permitted to do are visit houses, talk to other units (for recruiting, or other purposes), and to get hidden treasure. LET'S DO THIS! Book 1, Chapter 1:
  4. Alriiight. Time to start this probable awesome game! :D Colony 9
  5. Yep, another fe7 chaos mode lp because I want to join in on the fun. After much eventing headaches and was trying not to play other roms so I wouldn't subconsciously put spins on other people's ideas, the time has come to say screw the rules I want to enjoy other people's roms too. What the hell is a 100% yolo run? Get all the characters possible in a single run, Green drops, and chests baby, yes even train shitty Barte for useless karla. Y.O.L.O = you only savestate once....per beginning chapter xD what about mine glitch and dessert drops? no mine glitch, harder that way and depends, not going to spend all day looking for shit. What makes your LP different? Shit I don't know, although disclaimer I do swear a lot. ok LET'S DO THIS! So far I am impressed and excited.
  6. oh boy here we go again This is the long-awaited continuation of my amazingly unfinished FE7 clambake, in which I played through the game using only female units. (With a few exceptions, of course.) This time, however, I'm gonna do the same thing-- but play through FE8 instead (I'm also gonna finish it this time!)! I hope you're all ready to take on the Mostly Evil Practitioners of Feminist Magick Club, whose feminist agenda nearly sacked the continent of Elibe until they were thwarted by GRIMFACE THE PROTECTOR and his valiant female army. [spoiler=The Golden Rule]In this run, I will only use female units with the exception of Ephraim, Seth, and Colm. Ephraim because IMPORTANT, Seth in case I need him, and Colm for opening chests and doors. Since they are not females I will try my best to use them sparingly. [spoiler=Prologue] easy mode A place far, far away from Elibe. FIERCE, PEERLESS WARRIOR KING the most handsome and greatest living man spoiler: he dies Hayden, also known as Hatin', rules over Frelia. Frelia is kinda boring. Hayden is also boring. I think he's a nihilist or something. Anyway, he used to be known as the Womanizer King, but those days have long since passed. I hate the heat stupid sand why do I rule this place again where is my son where are my sexy guards why does the tap water taste funny caellach you are such a dingus where's my wine where's my naughty literature I'm sooooo tireddddd I hate weekdays Will Ismaire ever get a break? The only man who has ever rivaled Fado's handsomeness. He rules over the theocracy of Rausten, the Party City. Due to his ceaseless partying, he is unaware that the Mostly Evil Practitioners of Feminist Magick Club are targeting him. They dislike his blatant objectification of women, and seek to destroy him and his city. A horrible city filled with smelly people, perverts, and thieves. Did you notice how they stole Grado's intro? They have no shame! Ugh! They do have some nice sales once in a while though. Meanwhile, at Renais castle... Lord Von Lizardbird launches an attack on our innocent Princess Eirika! Thankfully, Seth is here to save the day! Seth, you can't lose! Big words from Lord Von Lizardbird Oh, Seth~ Eirika can probably do it. Just a couple of bandits. No biggie! In a sudden flash of light, Eirika pierces the bandit! O'Neill spoke a little too soon. And so our Princess escapes with a decent level up in tow. What awaits our Princess in the future chapters? Only time will tell.
  7. Hello, everyone! I am here to provide you all with an LP of FE7 CHAOS MODE, brought to me, and maybe to you, by KLOKINATOR! Yes, I know that FE7 chaos mode is quite possibly the most LPed hack in all of serenes forest, but I decided to LP it anyways, partially because none of the LPs has actually been finished(although with its official release, there are a few still in progress), and partially because FE7 chaos mode is a pretty awesome hack and deserves more attention. HERE IS ITS THREAD: FE7 Chaos Mode Thread Klokinator said that when he made this, he wanted to make a hack different from all the other inflation hacks, with just ludicrously inflated enemy and player stats, fake difficulty, and lots of BS everywhere that tries to trick you into thinking it's hard(the other hacks had those things, not this one.). And, although I wouldn't know because this is the only hack of that type I've ever played, I think he succeeded! FE7 Chaos Mode is the best hack of its type that I've ever played! Maybe you want to know a bit more about the hack before I start. Well, I'll tell you about all the many changes Klok made to everything as we go along. Let me just say that EVERYTHING is different. EVERYTHING. Except the maps. And the game's genre and premise. And the plot, which is only a little different. And probably a few other things that I missed. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS DIFFERENT, I PROMISE. Of course, as I introduce them to you, I'll assume you have absolutely no foreknowledge of this hack. I'm new to this whole LPing thing, of course, so tell me how I do. And without further ado, it's time for EVEN MORE ADO: THE INTRODUCTION: Before I go, I realize I need something to make this LP DIFFERENT. So, I will be running a lot on audience participation! You guys get to choose who to drop, who to keep, who to uberboost, and maybe even who to kill! All I ask is that you please be decisive, it is very tempting to try to include every character, as all of them make you want to use them, but we have very limited deployment spots, and if we don't focus our limited XP(no arenas!), I'll be in big trouble. I'm done...for now.
  8. So this will be a Pick My Units as my last one led to hilarity. No other rules. This will be normal mode as I am a noob. I think I will pick Hugh right off the bat so let's get this thing started! Keep in mind this is my first LP so yeah [spoiler=The Chosen Ones]Clarine Dorothy Saul Treck Lilina Barth Wendy Oujay Fir Geese Sophia Cecilia Percival Garret Hugh Zeiss P.S. One unit per person I will post the first chapter on Sunday because it's my dad's birthday
  9. For those of you who don't wander into the ROM hacking section and missed Phobia's (very foul-mouthed and entertaining) earlier LP, Klok made a hack where some things, mostly weapons and classes, are randomized. It's quite difficult. I'm curious to see whether I'll actually manage to complete it. I took the liberty of looking at weapon stats and new classes in Nightmare, but I didn't look at the events or anything. I did this mainly because I was curious about WEXP and afaik there's no in-game way to find out (short of counting every attack, which would be tedious). I did read Phobia's LP, so I have a vague idea of what's happening. THE PLAN: I WILL abuse the hell out of savestates. This is a promise. I generally use 3 and overwrite them as I progress. I'll do one at the beginning of the chapter (at the placement screen) and one right after starting so I don't have to keep going through the dialogue (do you have ANY idea how stressful it is to constantly press the start key?). Of course, this will make the character death count meaningless, so I'll keep track manually. I'm not sure about rigging stats/hits/dodges and the like; Klok says it's not necessary, but he created the damn thing. I don't believe a word he says. I will attempt to go for the Linus version of FFO and the Jerme version of PFOD. Since Serra and Lucius are (apparently) godly (not to mention have infinite use weapons), the latter may not happen. I have no idea how often I'll be able to update this; I got a decent amount of homework but I'll aim for 1 update a week, at least. Also, I've never done a LP before; the commentary might get a bit dull. Also, English isn't my first language, so I apologize for any spelling/grammatical errors. [spoiler=It begins] Klok says HHM, so I do HHM. I am nothing if not your obedient servant. Is that so? Oh. What's that when it's at home? Well, whatever. I was going to do it anyway. And we're off to a rather gloomy start. I'm guessing this is Klok's slightly altered story elements at work. What the hell is a senpai? See above. Hiding behind your speech bubble, no doubt. "Also, I'm dead." Yeah, Matthew "Axe? Who do you take me for, Dorcas?" By which he means he slit their throats. Like a turd at midnight. "Hell no! I'm benching you for Dorcas!" Told ya. HE'S BEHIND YOUR SPEECH BUBBLE! Nah, the guy's actually got duct tape across his mouth under that turban. "With my bow. And I didn't sharpen it today." Shouldn't send a soldier to do an assassin's bidding. "Quit masturbating after each kill, damnit!" A loldier? Not a chance. Sounds suspiciously like a tautology to me. Are you a centaur, or do you genuinely not care about your horse? "...my lance arm kinda sucks too, owing to my 30% strength growth." Heh. Heheh. Heheheheheheh. Easier said than done, if Klok is to be believed. No, you're benched. Lights! Camera! ACTIOOOOOOOOOOOON! Not used to having animations on, but it seems people like those. Plus I can see what the hitrates are like. The setup. Matthew breaks the wall down in 1 hit with an iron sword, and Hector mills around aimlessly, waiting for the soldier and archer to brainlessly charge at him. Meanwhile, the camera pans to this level's nemesis, THE PRINCE OF THIEVES. Hector weakened the soldier (not shown) and Matthew gets rid of the archer. Enemy phase: The soldier hits Matthew. Player phase: Hector kills the soldier and Matthew skulks away to lick his wounds. The PRINCE OF THIEVES strikes a critical blow on the chest. All according to plan. Hector proves incapable of killing the thief, so it's Matthew and his armourslayer to the rescue. And then I realize I have no inventory space. I'm playing things defensively here, trying to let the enemy come to me. Sacrifice that door key. Hopefully I don't need it later. Hector, meanwhile, heads over to deal with the archer to the west. He aims, he shoots... ...and he misses. The cavalry comes to the rescue, quite literally. A little while later, Hector makes up for his earlier miss with a crit. The archer drops an iron bow. Hector drops the chest key to make room for it. The duo head east to deal with the horde of enemies that will swarm in as soon as the door is opened. Hector places himself in range to attract the steel bow wielding archer to the south (steel bow has 1-3 range, fyi). The archer comes, like a moth to the flame... ...and is promptly incinerated for its troubles. Hector gets his first level-up. It's not fantastic. Also the archer dropped a vulnerary. Time for the second-to-last door key to go. Hector wanders off to heal and Matthew does his best "HERE'S JOHNNY!" impression. By that, I mean he unlocks the door. He can't wield axes yet. Also, he runs off in terror. The horde is not impressed. They approach slowly. Matthew attempts to weaken a soldier for Hector to kill, but fails. Hector takes matters into his own hands, but the crit is not with him this time. The soldier rewards Matthew's temerity by getting ready to lob an oversized dinner plate at him. Unlike Matthew, he doesn't miss. Dinner plate has been neutralized. Matthew skulks off once again. Poor bastard just can't catch a break. One can see the soldier and archer approaching from the south. This spells trouble. Hector snipes and Matthew rescues. The injured soldier perseveres onward, his stalwart companion behind him. Matthew drops Hector and prepares for combat. The soldier is rewarded with an arrow to the face, and Hector gets a level. Still not great. Matthew chips the archer. The archer disapproves, but does not succeed in hitting Matthew. Thank goodness. Hector does succeed, and gets C bows for his trouble. There's only a knight left. Hecthew prepare for trouble. Hector uses the tried-and-true hit and run tactic with Matthew's help. Then he kills the poor bastard. The music crescendos to a frenzied beat. FORTH EORLINGAS! He also gets a pretty nice level. Hm. This could be a tough nut to crack. It'd be easy with Matthew's armourslayer, yes. But I don't intend to use him. I wasn't kidding about benching him in favor of Dorcas. I decide to try and see whether Matthew can chip Wire without killing him. I use a savestate here. It would appear not, unless I want to waste him trying to rig a miss and a non-crit. I decide it's not worth it. Back to the savestate. I decide to use the iron bow to 2-hit Wire, rather than 5 steel bow uses. However, I first check to make sure Wire can't 1-hit Hector in case he decides to move (I can't remember if he does or not). HINT: He doesn't. And the resulting level is as impressive as Wire's AI. Exactly as intended. Yep. And after I recruit Guy, I shall remain very safe. Silly Matthew, you're a cavalier, not a pegasus or wyvern knight. Uther has been poisoned! Quick! What's the number for 911?! Oswin the Observant. LIES AND SALAMANDERS, MY LORD ...Since when are there mongooses in Fire Emblem?
  10. This is my first try at doing one of these screenshot LP things, so I thought I should do something simple. Feedback is very appreciated. Rules: Lute is the only character who may fight (duh). The only units who may be deployed are Lute, Colm or Rennac (for thief utility only), any unit needed to recruit another unit, any forced units, and Tethys (maybe. See below). All units must be recruited. If multiple units can recruit a unit, I can choose which one to use (for example, either L'arachel or your main lord can recruit Rennac, so I can choose which to recruit him with). In the Prologue and chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5x, since I don't have Lute anyone can be used. Arenas, Skirmishes, The Tower, and The Ruins can not be used to grind. Non-Lute that fit into one of the categories in rule 2 can visit villages, shops, and armories. Whether I go on Eirika's route or Ephraim's Route will be voted on in a poll. If a loss condition is met, I must restart the chapter. This will be on difficult mode. No using other units for meatshields. Eirika and Artur can be used in chapter 4 until Lute is recruited. I must try to recruit Lute as quickly as possible though. Loss Conditions:Any character dies. Any character is not recruited. Any character other than Lute attacks or counterattacks an enemy (even if it does 0 damage or misses)(unless the unit is currently green or red). Any character other than Lute uses a staff. Tethys: I'm not sure whether I should use Tethys or not. On one hand, you could say that Tethys dancing could make the game less of a solo, but on the other hand, you could say that it would be more challenging because I'd have to protect Tethys with only one unit. Decide in the poll. That's about it. I'll probably update this once a week, maybe twice. Depends on school stuff. The first update should come sometime this weekend, and I'll try to fit the first 3 chapters and the prolouge into it, so we can get to the real challenge quickly.
  11. I said I was going to do it, so here it is, my second screenshot LP: FE3 Pseudo-Blind Adventure! (Title Pending) Essentially, Im going to play through both books of Mystery of The Emblem and record my progress here. Im going to start with Book 1, where Ill be using whatever units I happen to feel like at the time and get used to the feel of the game. Once book 2 rolls around, I'll probably set some limits, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. The reason that Im calling it Pseudo-bind is because Ive played through Shadow one and four-ish halves times, so I know vaguely what happens sometimes. Like, I know that Shiida/Caeda recruits a bunch of random males with her sex appeal, so Im going to probably use her in anticipation of that happening, and I know that I need all the star thinges for Starlight, so Im going to get all of those, and that kind of stuff. Im not going to look anything up, though. Also, my memories of the plot are essentially Marth was on an island and then got some balls and turned them into a book to beat Gharnef. Then he got the Falchion and got warped to a dragon and won the game, so the plots pretty much a mystery to me, too. Anyway, before I start wallotexting even more, heres the first chapter! [spoiler=Chapter 1] The title screen! Im using the new patch, but the updated title screens apparently in the next version. Lets do this thing. Wait, Marth is 14? Thats like, a baby. I agree Ah, gotcha, a timeskip. And heres the crew! Marth, Draug, Gaggles, Kain, Abel, Shiida, and Jagen. Im gonna use the NoE names for the most part, because theyre the ones used in the patch, but I may end up slipping up and flip-flopping. Or Ill just give them stupid nicknames. Also Gaggles has always been and always will be Gaggles The status screen. Im gonna explain things for people whove never played the game before (most people?) as I discover them. Units have two inventories of 4 items each in this one: one by their head for weapons, and one by their stats for non-weapons. Also: Marth has 7 move. Thats ballin. Mounted units can use Lances while mounted, but can also dismount to turn into Knights, which are essentially Mercenaries. Thats why theyve all got lances and swords. They can mount and dismount whenever, but if its an indoor chapter they get forced onto their feet. Im pretty sure theres a stats penalty for dismounting, too, but Im not sure how steep it is. Enemies have sick pixel art portraits. Ill stick them here whenever I find new ones as long as I can remember to. Also: enemies have Exp, which Im 90% sure is how much they give when you kill them. Anyway: doing things! Marth gets the village since hes the only one who can in this game. The pre-combat window. You cant see your stats and the enemys stats at the same time, which makes seeing how much damage youll do/take kind of a piss off. Yay old things! The battle screens a pretty, though. Much nicer than the DS ones, imo, but Im a fan of pixely stuff. I also kind of hate everything about the DS games art style. I actually visited all the villages since Im still kind of lost, but this was the only useful one. If you look up at the status screens again, Weapon level is just a stat with a number in this game. How you know what weapon level you need for a weapon is a complete mystery to me at this point. (Dont tell me, its part of the fun of it being blind) I send Draug out to tank the pirates. He only takes 1 damage from them, but I apparently never capped it. Im 99% sure the weapon triangle isnt a thing until FE4, too. Seriously, 7 move. This kid is a track star. Gaggles and Marth pick up some kills. 32 is the magic number, this map. I dismounted Jagen to see what all the fuss was about and he snagged a kill too, since he could apparently double. Apparently promoted units dont get reduced exp. I leave Marth to dodgetank the herd of pirates since dodgetanking is the #1 specialty of all sword Lords. My first level. He also got Weapon Level and HP, which is apparently at the bottom of the list. FYI, the level up fanfare is not what it is in all the later games, and its kind of jarring. My first crit. The game tells you what damage you do and take in a little window at the end of a battle, and its kind of just annoying. Also, if you cant move though a tile, youve got to scroll around it manually to get to one past it. You cant just scroll through and have it auto-path there. So much for burning RNs. Thats quite the euphemism Ohhhhh united like united their forces. That makes so much more sense. This chick is not Wrys. Her Vulnerary is not Wrys. Wrys is not in this game. Im pissed, he was a cool bald dude. Shiidas first level. Trading. Shiida I remember reading FE1 debate topics where people always brought up Shiida being able to use Jagens Silver Lance with only 1 WLev proc, and lo and behold, it holds true in this game too. Gaggles takes potshots at the boss. I was trying to feed him to Shiida, but Marth got another crit. Fortunately, hes growing way better than Roy ever dreamed of doing. And thats map 1 cleared He just kind of starts monologue-ing to himself Nice, Ogma's pretty sweet. His friends, not so much. He's pretty much just a village telling me I can recruit people Well, hopefully you managed to enjoy the first chapter. Itll get less This is FE3 and how it works and more This is an actual LP once I get used to it and things get rolling, I promise.
  12. So since I'm being red shirted this year I'm bored. So what else could I possibly do then a stupid gimmicky play through of FE 6. I thought maybe axe users, then maybe sword users, but both of those sound really dull so instead I'm doing a mount less run of the game. at least I'm not doing this in FE 4. With that being said I'm open to unit suggestions because why not. Anyways here's chapter 1. [spoiler=chapter 1] Whee brand new rom to dick around with. Boring exposition stuff that I don't give a shit about. Chapter 1 REALLY! Eliwood is the greatest knight in lycia. What happened did oswin hector, sain, kent, lowen, and marcus all die or something. What sort of a response is that. So while they are prepping their defenses for a massive army lets attack with a small group God merlinus you let yourself go. That's a bit of underreaction to being told you're under attack. Wait. So we're being attacked by a bunch of units with 0 res and we're sending the one mage away. This sounds very inappropriate out of context. This is Damas. He's pretty suck. MARCUS. I wish I could use you. Apparantely really good but you will not be used so... Hey its shitty armor. He might get used. Probably not. Shitty archer. I will probably use you. I have no idea why. Another good unit I can't use. Worst lord ever. Maybe. He might do well up until people start getting promoted. Wait bors can actually hit things. This was the majority of my chapter plan. Roy hits on EP Wolt steals kills on PP. One hit on like 5 bandit attempts. Pretty sure Roy killed this dude with an unnecessary crit. I missed a screen, no that it matters cause the level up sucked. Master plan phase two. Roy chips on EP then again in PP for more wolt kills. Better but I'd like some speed. Feeding roy an archer kill. At you got defense. Maybe you'll go full thwomp on me. Actually the cavs did nothing and bors got one kill. So it was really just and archer and shitty swordman. He is the only enemy on the map that can be doubled by any of my usable units. Wolt super stronk. Dat 6 str. Okay now try proc'ing strength and speed at the same time. It will because I have an armor knight next map and it would make things easier. Fuck you too eliwood. "So we should have a 12 year old run the larget country in the leauge"-Eliwood 2014 Your sure this isn't FE1? Are we talking about the same merlinus?
  13. Well met ladies and gentlemen! This forum needs more FE7 LP/Picture plays or whatever you like to call them. Coincidentally I feel like starting a LHM/HHM run! Ain't you all lucky bored already? Anyway I did a draft thing on reddit some months back and I had loads of fun commenting on my own stuff, even if there was barely 20 people reading it. So I decided to go again for my own, and hopefully some others, entertainment. To make things more exciting for myself I've decided to randomize the characters I'll be using with my very own "sort of bingo chart". (Yes, that was the best thing I could come up with) Here is the chart, and I'll include the 'rules' (probably the default rules I'm not aware of) I'll be imposing on myself below. 1. , 's Father, , , / , & are free to use since they're either forced on the last chapter or the supply convoy (guess who the convoy is) or needed since I'll probably roll all late game pre-promotes. 2. Wallace / Geitz are one, since you can't get both & Karla and Bartre are also one because special requirements. 3. I get one character free of choice if I'm not happy (read: IF NO HEALER). 4. I shan't RNG abuse levels. (In before 5 str Lyn) 5. There is place for 7 characters besides the required ones on the last chapter, I'll pick 9(+1) characters to use. Not sure on that number, suggestions? 6. I'll provide horrible commentary. 7. Finishing is mandatory. 8. Anything else I forget goes here. 9. LHM / HHM, and I shall complete all the side-quests. I've already rolled all the characters I'll be using, they will be revealed whenever I get close to their recruitment, see bingo chart below! Characters! (the updated bingo chart): Leave a comment for my motivation!
  14. So let's get this started. I don't have much time to myself as of late so updates will be less frequent. Rules: 1. This will be Played on Difficult Mode 2. Whether i go to Eirika's Route, Ephraim's Route or do both side by side (the team that stays after the routes merge again will be decided by a vote) is decided on by a vote. 3. Moulder, Artur, Lute, Natasha, L'Arachel, Saleh, Ewan and Knoll will be used in this Playthrough. Non-magic-users that are forced to be deployed can Visit Villages, Trade, go in Armories and Vendors and get Items in the desert. 4. Tethys can be used. 5. Colm will be the primary thief to get items in chests and steal items from others. (Colm and Rennac can be deployed in Ch. 15 for Items in the sand) 6. I will recruit all characters in this playthrough (So Vanessa can Rescue a NPC Ross because of this). 7. Arena Abuse: Not in this playthrough, not even once. [spoiler=Chapter Directory] Prologue-Chapter 1 Chapter 2-3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5-5x Chapter 6-7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 [Pt. A, Pt. B] Chapter 15 [Pt. A, Pt. B] Chapter 16 Chapter 17 Chapter 18 Chapter 19 Chapter 20 Final Character Analysis
  15. So a while back Loca asked how to create FE7 hacks since he wanted to rebalence the game. I told him it wasn't that hard and I could do it myself with ease. So now this is a thing. We're going to play it, probably slowly, and playlog it here. I'm not going to make the patch public until I'm certain I remembered everything. Loca will post the Prologue later. (LHM/HNM by the way)
  16. So by now we've seen quite a few themed runs of Fire Emblem games with pictures to go along with them. They are fun to watch (though no doubt a bitch to make, upload and post regularly.). Most of these runs limit the player in some way. Only use bottom tier characters. Only use axe wielders. So what is the gimick of this run? Use all the characters! In a sense that is. Maybe Duessell will be too high a level from the get go. Rules!: -Only the 6 characters with the lowest levels at the start of a chapter may fight in that chapter. -Promoted units automatically count as +20. (even if promoted early.) -Any non-promoted character of level 20 does not count at all and may not be deployed. -If recruited mid chapter a character may fight normally in the chapter they are recruited. -Thiefs may be deployed for stealing/lockpicking but not fight unless in the bottom 6. -No deaths and all characters must be recruited. -Characters needed to recuit may be deployed but not fight unless in bottom 6. -Bardic characters may always be used and don't count. -All arena's and repeatable levels may be visited only once. No use of skirmishes allowed except for the one unused map which I can also visit once. I'm sure I forgot a few rules. Let's get cracking.
  17. I've always wanted to play an "FE" in a "long session" with Dusk, so here we go. I clearly don't have too many projects going. Clearly. I don't know if we'll have any special rules going on in this "playthrough", so I'll post a bit later if we decide on anything. Dusk should be updating soon.
  18. Funny enough, even though my nickname is Ash, I have only beaten two Pokémon games ever. Not too many more have I even played. So, I decided today to run through FireRed, mostly blind... This'll be my first time doing something like this. I hope it's not too bad. [spoiler=Part 1: Are you Ready?] So, here's the title screen... Nothing odd here. Oak's introduction, basic stuff really. Not gonna fool around, gonna get right to the beef of it. Hobbies include: Kicking ass and taking names. Please note it says "Legend." This is hilarious as I am known to be Terrabad at Pokémon. So, our story starts after a hardcore night session of Super Mario Bros. Of course, all by my lonesome. Damn... Will needs more friends. Anyways, so we quickly head out and right away go for the tall grass!! Our excitement was just TOO MUCH. However... Oak appears out of nowhere to stop our most likely apparent demise! He then leads us away to his lab to get our first Pokémon. My body is ready. I go for Charmander, mostly because I favor fire types. I named him Ashes out of old habit, I usually like to name my first fire type this. So, I try to leave, but suddenly... Reggie challenges me! I am not sure if my body is ready...
  19. Since I picked up Football Manager 2014 recently, I figured I would do one of these playthrough/manager story things, I did some of them back when I was playing the 2008 version. I've always been fairly bad at these games, so I suppose it is an accurate simulation of actual Sunday League managers. Regardless, I've always preferred playing as the underdogs instead of starting in the Premier League with Man. United or such. do people care about football here I'll probably mirror it on an FM site but I'm doing this for my own amusement. Looks to be a great goalkeeper, at least for a very low league level. He's actually my highest valued player by a lot. He is pretty old, though, so I may have to replace him eventually. Absolutely great for now, though. Goalkeeper - Tom Lovelock [spoiler=Image] Back-up goalkeeper. Aerial ability isn't great, but otherwise, he seems decent. However, he's got a decent amount on the wage bill, so I may drop him and get a goalkeeper with just an appearance fee, who probably won't be getting played unless Jason Brown gets injured or suspended. Central Defender - Charlie Clough [spoiler=Image] Really good defender. His Concentration and Decisions are unfortunately low. Really good strength and jumping reach. Fairly young, too. He'll be getting played as much as I possibly can. Central Defender - Simon Downer [spoiler=Image] Not as good as Clough, though he's still a pretty good defender. I may have to rotate him, if I do get another central defender. Central Defender/Right Defender/Right Wing Back/Right Midfielder - Paul Telfer [spoiler=Image] He used to play in the Premier League by the looks of things, but he's probably coming to end of playing now at 41. He has barely any pace, appropriately. He's also a coach. That said, for a defender, his stats are very good across the board apart from the physical ones. Right Defender/Right Midfielder - Emmanuel Akiotu [spoiler=Image] Pretty guff (bad), honestly. He's on a free contract, but since I don't have many right backs, I'll either keep him or get another one. Or two. Central Midfielder - Lee Sawyer [spoiler=Image] His stats are pretty average across the board, I think he'll be decent. We need as many midfielders as we can get, so he'll probably be getting played. Left or Right Attacking Midfielder/Left Midfielder/Striker - Gavin McCallum [spoiler=Image] Doesn't look fantastic, but he does have pace. I don't know how much I'll use him, though. Left or Right Midfielder/Left or Right Attacking Midfielder - Damian Scannell [spoiler=Image] Looks fairly good - unfortunately I'm not going to be playing a formation with any sort of wingers, so I don't think he would be getting played unless I played him out of position, unfortunately. I might terminate his contract, since he is on £500 per week, which is quite high. Either that, or I'll set him up to train him as a central midfielder. Left Midfielder/Left Attacking Midfielder - Dale Binns [spoiler=Image] Like with Scannell, he looks decent, but he probably won't be getting played in position. At least he is more comfortable playing as a central midfielder and left wing back. I might keep him. Once again, he's got a fairly high contract at £550 per week. Central Midfielder/Central Attacking Midfielder - Dean Sinclair [spoiler=Image] A decent passer of the ball, with good physical attributes for the most part. Looks good enough to me. Probably a regular central midfielder for me. Central Midfielder/Central Attacking Midfielder/Striker - Craig Dundas [spoiler=Image] Damn, that's a lot of strength. Good player overall with a few positions to play in, will keep. Since he has the possibility of playing in midfield, attacking midfield, or a striker for me, he'll probably get rotated between them. Left or Right Attacking Midfielder/Striker - Marvin Williams [spoiler=Image] Once again, looks like someone that probably won't be getting played in any position that isn't striker, and honestly, he doesn't seem that great apart from the pace as a striker, finishing could be higher. We'll see. Striker - Jamie Taylor [spoiler=Image] Pretty good striker. Unfortunately he is currently injured and will be for 2 months. Finishing is good and he'll probably be getting played after he recovers. Striker - Jamie Slabber [spoiler=Image] Seriously, Slabber is a great name. He's a good striker, especially as a target man. Unfortunately, his work rate is only 3, which is very low. His finishing is the highest I can really find at this level at 15, so hopefully he'll be able to score a number of goals. Slabber. I have a couple of people in the reserves, too, though two of them are out on loan. Central Defensive Midfielder/Central Midfielder - Steve McKimm [spoiler=Image] The under 21s coach, but not that great in terms of actual stats. He's a decent defensive midfielder, I would say, and I might call him up to the first squad because I need at least one defensive midfielder. Central Midfielder - Moon Hong [spoiler=Image] Not that great, his physical stats are good but doesn't really have any more important stuff. I guess he could be a decent passer, but I'd like to sign a better midfielder instead. Least he's on a cheap wage. Right Midfielder/Right Attacking Midfielder/Striker - Ben Kudjodji [spoiler=Image] Well, he has better long shots than actual finishing. I doubt he's really going to do that much compared to the strikers I already have. Good pace, though. And then we have our two reserve players on loan. They aren't really anything special enough to recall, so I won't bother. Left Attacking Midfielder/Striker - Rhys Murrell-Williamson [spoiler=Image] Figured out that I would go over the two players loaned out in the reserve team. His stats are mainly pretty bad, but like most of the young players has good pace and acceleration. Striker - Chris Benjamin [spoiler=Image] Once again, a lot of pace and acceleration, but not much to offer otherwise. The tactic I'll be using is an edited 4-4-2 diamond (edited from someone else's tactic, it's not really so much my thing) sort of formation. Since defenses are pretty terrible in the lower leagues, I'll focus more on attacking than anything else. I'm gonna be using two complete wing backs, those will be my "wingers", really. It's a narrow formation for a reason. Otherwise, two up front, one attacking midfielder, two regular midfielders, and a defensive midfielder. It's probably still going to leak goals, especially since my defense is going to be pretty poor. Just concentrate on scoring more goals than my opposition. The Liverpool Way . So, things I need: A left wing back. I have none. I may want a second one for rotation purposes. A right wing back, though Telfer and Akiotu can currently play there, but not that well. A defensive midfielder. McKimm in the reserve team is a decent one, but I probably want to sign another one. And things that I'm probably going to get after: Another central midfielder with good passing. A good attacking midfielder. Another striker, possibly. And I'll probably terminate Lovelock's contract and get a cheaper goalkeeper. The transfer window is open all season, though I'll have plenty of time to do everything before even my first friendly, honestly. Anyway, that's all I'm going to do for now, I'm sure it'll speed up when I actually get to some of the friendlies/league games. I'll give a brief description of each game, but won't go into tremendous detail for all of them.
  20. IT'S BEEN TOO LONG SINCE I DID ONE OF THESE THINGS. For people who can't guess, this is a hack of Pokemon Ruby for the GBA. If you also can't guess by the fact that I'm LPing this, it's also kind of horribly horribly designed. Item prices skyrocketed, trainers don't give out nearly as much money as the used to, the level curve and everyone has a fucking potion. Or two. Or four. It's really annoying. I'm not completely blind for this, but I'm not fully informed either. I'll try and keep SPOILERZZZZ of the (admittedly bad) plot and gameplay to a minimum, although people might have heard me ranting about this monstrosity from time to time. I'm not playing with any kind of restrictions because due to the aforementioned terrible leveling curve, the last thing I need to do is shoot myself in the foot any more than the game already forces you to. I don't really have any more to say other than I'll be somewhat open to suggestions on what to use. I have 2/6 planned out which are probably staying, but feel free to suggest who you want me to use. There are horrible fakemons in this game, but I don't really know anything about them bar one, so don't expect any insight from me. But yeah, time to get this started. [spoiler=FEMINISTS ARE IDIOTS] Oh god that school sucks ass. Oops, I already broke the no spoilers thing, didn't I? I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK THERE According to Xinnidy, I'm a boy. Might. What. Who the hell names their kid that? After a little while I decided the second summed up my feelings about this hack slightly better than the first one, so I'm going with that. Well I don't. I TOLD YOU I DON'T WANT TO GO. Start in the middle of nowhere. Right. At least it's better than a moving truck? Oh god. We can have silent protagonists without spamming DOTDOTDOTDOTDOTDOT you know? I feel like this name was the correct choice. Why did we turn around when the voice was coming from the other direction? HOW SHOULD I KNOW? Fuck that, it went well for the kids in Sinnoh, so why wouldn't it work here? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WAY HOME IS. Oh god. He's succumbed to the ellipsis spam too. Then there's some ENCOURAGING WORDS that weren't interesting at all so I didn't screencap them. gg. I'm sure that'll go perfectly well. Darn. We almost made it a full screen away without being interruptions! FEMINISTS THEY RETURN I just noticed Kevin standing further in front of us for no reason. That's really off-putting. Man the evil team waste no time in showing up? I wonder what kind of MACHO EVIL INTIMIDATING NAME THAT STRIKES FEAR INTO THE HEARTS OF EVEN THE BRAVEST MAN could have? Addendum: The only chump they scare is Kevin. Seriously. Dark Organization. The weeb level is rising. What an ORIGINAL PLOTLINE. "hard way." Such intimidating words. I'm quaking in my boots. I thought you told us to run? The chump actually has a point! THEY'RE NOT OURS EITHER, IDIOT. Oh man a TERRIFYING WOOBAT. Yeah there are later gen Pokemon and fakemons in this game. The starters are all the kanto ones. I really recommend that you NOT pick Charmander because for some dumb reason half the game is spent raining, which makes it kind of shitty. I picked Bulbasaur because fuck the second gym. The first is arguably going to be worse, but whatever. >Wild >Sandstorm background GOOD HACK. Anyway, I literally missed four times in that fight. I don't get it. Level 2 Pokemon op. It was level 2. Come on. So much for you protecting the Pokemon? Man, you're doing SUCH A GOOD JOB DELIVERING THEM by giving them away, aren't you? I don't get this woman at all. No kidding. I'm not sure if "happy" is the right word considering I know what's in store for me. GOTTA SET THAT CLOCK (WRONG). I don't even know why I bother. Oh. Yeah we have those apparently! And fade out and back to our room.
  21. Hey, guys! This is a thread I'm making just for fun, where you post your best/funniest moments in Fire Emblem/Super Smash Bros Brawl and discuss them! It's just for fun, and keep the swearing to a minimum~ I'll start: lol, the only time I've seen Jagen be boss! ^_^'
  22. Hey everyone! burgerkong here, for a (I think) first casual draft LP! 3 filthy casuals and Elieson will be competing in a draft to see who is the best at entertainment in a draft setting! There will be joy! There will be rage! And there will be, for the first time evar, completion on all 4 player's parts (I hope)! Boring rule stuff inbound: Drafting: 1. This draft is for 4 players. 2. 23. Hiho, people. I've been meaning to do something to keep my mind off certain things, and so I've decided to play FE12 for your viewing pleasure. Da rules: 1: No stat-boosters allowed other than Star Shards. Performance enhancing drugs are illegal. 2: Instant reset whenever an ally's HP reaches 0. 3: I'm not playing for LTC so no "da fuk you play liek uberskrub". 4: Also no reclassing. 5: Map saves are allowed due to this game's sucky avoid formula. With that out of the way, LET'S GET DIS PARTY STARTED. [spoiler=Epic Beginning of Epic Adventure] Here, have an epic Marth pose. Get psyched. New Game (of course what did you expect) Things are gonna get EDGY. Classic for the Ultimate FE Experience. "Hi, I'm Anna! Professor Oak let me borrow his psychic broadcasting device." "He also told me to ask this question for some reason." My real name. Mage so I can go FWOOOOSH and BZZZOW and WHOOOOSH This is the avatar I use every time I play this game. I'm an honorable country kid who is "diverse" (whatever that's supposed to mean). Get at me. AW YISS WE'RE MAKING THIS HAPPEN HOLY SHIT AN ENEMY UNIT BUMPED INTO ME I CAN TELL BECAUSE NO EYES You know it. Wow. TMI, Katarina. Oh hi there, Kent 2.0 and Sain 2.0. Also stop looking at me like that, Katarina. Kinda creepy. ...YOU DON'T SAY. Oh good. I'm just a country bumpkin who's totally not a Gary Stu self-insert at all so I was kind of worried. I WONDER WHO'S GONNA BE MY PARTNER knew it BS. I'm going to be the one making the orders and you know it. Time to start the burning. FWOOSH You wanna frickle frackle? Toasty~ Pain. Time to heal. You asked for it. Speed. Eh. I won. Better recognize. OMG It's Marth-sempaiiii yeah shut up Katarina and DIE FOR ME. ...Even though I'm going to be doing all the work. And so ends the beginning of the prologue. Stay tuned for more wacky wartime hijinks!
  24. Hello, Serenes Forest Forums! I will be doing a partially blind playthrough of FE11 Shadow Dragon, normal mode. Here is Prologue 1. [spoiler=Prologue 1] The title screen! Looks nice, I guess. Like the terrible player I am, I'm playing on normal mode. Shoot me. Then, this intro appeared on the screen. [spoiler=Introduction]"Long ago, Medeus, king of the dragonkin, conquered the continent of Akaneia, beginning an age of fear and despair for all its people. That tyranny was broken, however, when an unlikely hero intervened. A young man hailing from the Altea region appeared with a divine blade in hand. He stood against the Shadow Dragon, and struck him down. For some time after, the land enjoyed an age of peace. However, after a century's passing, the Shadow Dragon returned. He forged an alliance with a fiendish sorcerer who sought to rule the world, and their combined might toppled kingdom upon unsuspecting kingdom. Again, darkness threatened to engulf the continent. It fell upon the king of Altea, sole descendant of the dragon-slayer hero, to 'sally forth with the divine blade and fulfill his blood destiny. His son, Prince Marth, remained at home with the boy's mother, his elder sister, and a garrison manned by Altea's neighbor and ally, Gra'. Thus the boy applied himself to the ways of both pen and sword, until one day..." Why did they name that place Gra...? I mean... Gra. Why not something cool, like Wizard, or Australia? Moving on... Young Marth! So... Apparently, we have to go to the throne. Here is Marth, our lovable, blue-haired lord. For some reason, his defense is okay, but his skill is kind of bad. I'm going to guess his growths are going to change this. A wild generic appeared! He brought his axe-wielding buddies to help! CIRCLE SLASH After killing those guys with ease, Marth leveled up. It's what you've all been waiting for... I hate Fire Emblem Moving on... I feel really threatened by this guy. Yup. I'm shaking. Yep, I'm fine, dearest sister...! How are you on this fine day? Gra? Is that some kind of pasta...? We've lost mummy?! Oh noez! I could've produced some inappropriate innuendo with her around... He was defeated by the pasta people?! Are you sure?! 'K, sis. ...'K, sis. 'K, SIS. JEEZ, YOU'RE SO WEIRD And thus our hero, Prince Marth, fled the throne-room. What will happen next? Find out in the next part of Shadow Dragon with Wizard!
  25. [spoiler=The original OP]I kind of want to do a kinda-sorta efficiency run with some screenshots, but I'm not sure the best way to go about screenshots. Should I upload them onto a hosting site and then link them here or can/should I upload them here? Is the 10MB upload limit for the whole topic or just 1 post in the topic? If the whole screenshot thing doesn't work out I guess I could do a turn-by-turn and just recapitulate at the end. Constraints of this run are essentially that of the new H3 tier list (you know, the one that PKL made and hasn't updated with the changes we agreed on, you guys know the one). All recruits, no character deaths. Played to C24, all gaidens visited. Rainbow Potion, Maturity drop, Bond drop, Lunatic stat-boosters, and Mixed male classes are allowed. Everybody's situation is not. I will/have be(en) using the standard +2 DEF, +1 STR, +10% STR/MAG growth, + 15% SKL/SPD Knight!MU as it is arguably the most stable during the prologue. Since I have already rigged Luke's level in P-7 this run obviously doesn't prohibit it. In addition to to P-7C STR rig for Luke a number of post-earlygame arena wins were rigged for particular stats (usually SPD). Critical hits are allowed. 1 per save point is acceptable with the exception of C20 and C24 where two are acceptable; though I didn't rig two criticals in C24.
