  1. So we have threads (that haven't been touched in a while) for the best and worst personal skills, and since we have a thread dedicated to creating a class, why not go ahead and make up our own skills? Personal skills to, since the best and worst threads got me thinking. I'm not going to do anything like scream for creativity (bring back Wrath from Awakening) or game balance (Increase damage by +5 when at weapon advantage), or hell even alter existing skills (Scarlet's personal activating at 50% hp), but I do want to request (for as long as it can stand up) that you don't try to make a CLASS at the same time. There is already a thread for that, as linked to above. Now, what will you make? What would you replace the Avatar's personal with to make them more like yourself? What personal skill would the unique characters (Kotaro, Garon, Iago, Mikoto, etc.) have in your mind? What about capturable characters (Candace, Tarba, Gazak, etc.)? Just to start, I'll throw out what I think would be Zola's personal skill. Illusional: Use as a command to change to another character deployed on the map until the next turn, at which point the illusion will wear off. All weapons, skills, and stats will copy the chosen character.
  2. I was originally gonna post this in the Ballistician thread, but I figured that I may as well make a thread for this kinda thing because other people may have some really neat combinations that I'd love to hear. I just found a really niche thing you can do with the Tanks, because of its ability to inflict friendly fire. [spoiler=Scarlet Build]All you have to do is get a unit that relies on Vantage, they won't even need Miracle. I'll use Scarlet as an example, but there are others, like Midori for example. Scarlet (Wyvern Lord) with a Forged Peri's Lance In Extremis (Personal) Awakening Vantage Luna 2 Other skills (Rend Heaven/Quixotic/Warp/Replicate/Galeforce, etc...hell even Lucky 7 is usable here) Here's the gameplan 1. Set up your Tank to hit an enemy while Scarlet's within range of the Cannon Command. 2. Scarlet's weak to Bows, so she'll get hit with that extra damage, and unless your Tank is really weak, she'll drop to 1 HP. 3. With In Extremis and Awakening active, you get a free +60% Crit, and with Vantage, feel free to go to town! Luna's a Failsafe on things like Generals, which is why I have Quixotic in the list of preference skills, if you're confident in Scarlet's ability to just destroy things before they can strike back. Plus you have a Ballistician (or 2, if you have Replicate) to back you up with extra chip damage, while Scarlet not minding if she gets caught in the crossfire. This build does have weaknesses though, of course. Namely Breakers/Quixotic/Certain Blow, as well as Generals if Luna doesn't proc. But its a pretty fun setup that I came up with while derping around in Revelations (shame I cant really build Scarlet there), and I figured someone may find it interesting. So, what do you think of this setup? Do you have your own builds/combinations that may not be optimal, but are fun to pull off? That's what this here thread is for.
  3. I feel like at least ONE of the worst personal skills is Dwyer's Born Steward. It's useless outside of castle invasions and battles against other players. What's your opinion on the worst personal skill?
  4. I was chatting to a friend on tumblr about the possibility that weird things could happen when a character obtains a class set that overlaps with a class set they already have, and it turns out, it changes the way skills are obtained. Normally, when a character class changes into a promoted class, they obtain the skills of the base class in their set first, then the promoted class's skills. However, there are cases where an overlap confounds this a little bit. I experimented on Selena!Percy first, as he has two paths to Hero: Fighter from Arthur and Merc from Selena. I removed all skills from the parents before starting his paralogue to ensure no confounding factors, and this is the obtained skill order while leveling him: Hero!Selena!Percy So some things change when there's an overlap, for sure. This same friend said that when Heart Sealing Hinoka into Basara while married to Kaden, they found that Hinoka obtained both Spear Fighter (Hinoka's secondary class) and Diviner (Kaden's secondary class) skills. This is significant because Diviner and its skills shouldn't be accessible to her without Partner Seals. I have yet to confirm this but I have no reason to distrust them. At any rate, I singled out all the cases I could think of that need to be tested in order to determine how this hybridization works: Child character inheriting two different base classes with a shared promotion (x2, to determine which classes take priority, e.g., father’s class over mother’s, secondary class over tertiary, etc.) Tested once, with Selena!Percy Character class-changing into a promoted class shared with spouse’s base/parallel class (whichever is obtained) via Heart Seal (completed by tumblr user acupfullofsynthen, yet to verify) Character class-changing into a promoted class shared with spouse’s base/parallel class (whichever is obtained) via Partner Seal #2, but for best friend with Heart Seal #3, but for best friend with Buddy Seal Character class-changing into a promoted class shared by spouse's base/parallel class and best friend's base/parallel class, but not in own class set, with Partner Seal Same as above, but with Buddy Seal Corrin with two A rank same-sex supports (Niles/Rhajat excluded) that share a promoted class but not a base class, Buddy Seals into that class Additional combinations of inheritance, marriage, and best friend to hunt for exceptions to precedents established by the first 7 cases. I have a lot of unused characters in my current Revelation file and figured I would simply run through at least one of all of the cases. Case 1(2): Child of Azura with access to Kinshi Knight via Archer: Update: not a possible combination without Archer!Corrin -- even though Azura!Kiragi will have Archer in his set, he will start out in it, meaning all of the Archer skills are obtained immediately, while Shigure does the same for Sky Knight Cases 2 and 3: Hinoka x Kaden Heart Seal into Basara, reset, Partner Seal into Basara, see what is different. Case 2/3 Results: Cases 4 and 5: Keaton x Laslow Heart Seal into Hero, reset, Buddy Seal into Hero, see what is different Case 4/5 Results: Cases 6 and 7: Kaze x Effie + Silas, Buddy Seal into GK, reset, Partner Seal into GK, see what is different Case 6/7 Results: Case 8: Corrin with everybody. Needs to be done with both male and female Corrin. Only some combinations result in overlaps, so no need to try to test everybody against everybody. Ideal testing method: Revelation file with all characters available (sans Kana) and all characters B-ranked to Corrin with A-rank available. Save, A-rank two characters with overlap, play a challenge battle and gain at least 1 level. Record priority. Works for all characters except Gunter. Case 8 Results: Case 9: I'm going to take the same Percy and see what skills I can get out of a friend/spouse pair much like Cases 6 and 7. Results Summary: It seems that the game immediately adds a spouse's base class to a character's class set upon reaching S-rank, and immediately adds a friend's base class upon reaching A+-rank. Even though these classes are only accessible through Partner/Friendship Seals, they are still present and their base skills can be obtained through Heart Sealing into an overlapping class. Likewise, the skills from the character's own secondary class can be obtained even when the class change occurred via a Partner/Friendship Seal. When obtaining skills, "leftmost" priority applies, as follows: if the character has a maximum of five classes numbered from left to right, the spouse's class always takes slot 4, and the friend's class always takes slot 5. The order of the unit's own classes is irrelevant as no unit seems to have a class set that overlaps with itself, although child units' slot 3 is always filled by the variable parent.
  5. So for my MU, I wanted a more defensive approach with my skills. I know Hoshido Nobles have really good defense caps to begin with but I still want to play it defensively. I currently have Pavise, Aegis, Counter and Countermagic as my skills along with Lethality, Is there any better setup I could use or is this decent? On a side note, I don't remember exactly what Boon and Bane I chose but I think it might have been Clever and Unlucky.
  6. I'm Currently trying to build some decent bond units. A tricky challenge and i tought i had everything figured out. I don't know why, but ond units are incapable of learning skills from themselves. since reclassing my bond unit would not allow them to return to the class they started in (the one i want them to be >.>). I figured i could obtain all the skills from their available classes by following this process. (i do not know why this doesn't work) Create a save with the unaltered units in their basic class on the unit roster of that playthrough. (so as not to lose them if a mistake was made) Create a second save to power level the unit through the class line and obtain the skills. Update the unit's logbook entry with the new skills. Return to the first save file and learn the the skill from the reclassed/trained unit. Update the logbook entry with the original unit that also has the skills. this would leave the heart seal options available. repeat the process for the remaining class lines. aqcuiring all available/desired skills. final update of logbook entry. purchase the unit on the desired playthrough. (Ghostly Grind... err Gold.) Seemed pretty solid to me. are the bond units able to learn skills from their own entries in the logbook? any information would be appreciated. I did snoop around for this topic, no luck. In case i missed it, please link me to the topic.
  7. Ever since buying skills has become a thing, I've noticed a lack of interesting character reclassing in Fates. Everyone is either a Swordmaster, Master Ninja, or a Nohr/Hoshido Noble. Which is fine! Those classes are common for a reason! But I'm curious to hear if anyone did something different. Like making Effie into a healer, or making Kaze into a samurai. I, for example, made my Avatar an Outlaw with +Luck/-Skill.
  8. Does anyone have grisly wound on a female kana. If you do can I have your castle address. I want the skill on my female kana, but you can only get it on a female kana if you marry Velouria.
  9. Fire Emblem Fates Fan skills ideas Dodge focus When in battle where this unit cannot attack, increase dodge by X% Dummy guard Adds the command create create(command) When used, creates a dummy unit and pairs up this unit with the dummy. (The switch separate command is replaced with the recall command that removes the dummy) 1v1 This unit and the unit this unit is battling does not get attack or guard stances and is treated as if they were fighting alone. Fight alone If this unit is the support unit in a pair up and the opposing unit is paired up, the battle between the lead unit and enemy lead unit will battle normally without any support and both support units will battle. Camouflage At the start of the enemy's turn, if this unit if not in range for an enemy, those enemies will not be able to attack this unit for this turn. Snow grenade Adds the command frost. Frost (command) When used, allows you to select a spot 1-3 spaces away. That selected spot and all space around it will be filled with a destroy-able snow pile(1hp) so long as there is nothing else in that space. Note: all snow piles will be destroyed after one turn. Sharpening blade Has (luck*((weapon_level+1)/16) to increase weapon level whenever this unit (have not decide below is possibilities) Character levels up When weapon is used in battle or after a specific number of battles. This character kills an enemy This character attacks or kills a golem based unit Jump Adds the command jump Jump(command) When used, this allow the unit to jump to any open and accessible tile within 2 tiles of the user. Time management If this unit does not move and performs an action that unit will be able to perform another action . Weapon switch After a battle, the opposing weapon will be unequipped and the next available weapon will be equipped. If the opponent only has one weapon, nothing happens. Heal block Applies the status heal block after battle Heal block (status) Negates all heal effects except from potions and staves/rods Assurance When this unit in a battle and either unit is hit with a critical hit or skill that would kill them when they would otherwise survive, the unit survives with 1HP. Ground slam Adds the command slam Slam When used, does X% damage to all enemy units within 2 tiles of this unit. Double slash All attacks now hit twice but do half damage. (same effect as brave weapons and it does stack) Sneak attack Adds the command Sneak attack Sneak attack(command) This unit can now attack the enemy without them being able to attacks them back but causes the status open Open(status) This unit is not able to declare an attack and is not able to attack when attack. One turn recovery Cover Blind Spot Critical attacks do no damage on this unit but this unit can no longer perform critical attacks.
  10. Let me start with a few favorites: Nino - Aptitude Elincia - Spare (use the Spare command to leave the enemy with 1 HP if the enemy has >1 HP left, cannot make follow-up attacks) Nephenee - Resolve (Skill and Spd *1.5 when under half HP) Lute - Arrogance (similar to Hayato) Shinon - Sub-Human contempt (+4 damage when fighting Laguz) Artur - Cleansing (+4 damage to monsters) Caeda - Alluring (-3 damage taken from male enemies) Kellam - Shade (enemies will attack him LAST)
  11. So... I noticed that the page on Bond Units hasn't been updated with the Localized Names, and since the skills are tied to their names, I'm creating this page to help detail which skills come from which Bond Unit. (The page I'm talking about is this one: http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/hoshidan-characters/bond-units/) I only have 5 Bond Units, all from the Birthright route in some way. 12. Hey, so I didn't know if I should ask in a currently existing thread, so I decided to play it safe and make my own thread. I was wondering if anyone has, or has access to getting, Good Fortune for Sakura, (Mercenary, Level 1 skill) and Axebreaker for Azura (Hero, Level 15 skill... I think) I'm asking because I want Azura to have a weapon triangle advantage as she'll be using lances, and since I've seen many people pair her up with Lazslow, I'm sure it can't be that hard to find one out there that has Axebreaker. Sakura, on the other hand, might be a bit more tricky. I'm looking to make her an HP tank, and I'm simply looking for Good Fortune. Yes, there's better skills, I'm sure, but I'd really like to have Good Fortune on her, as she'll have high Luck in the end. If anyone could find or get these skills for me, and post the MyCastle Link, that would be... amazing, really really awesome. Thanks!
  13. Hello all, new user here, been a diehard FE fan since the good ole' days of Blazing Sword. When FE14 released, I decided to make myself a spreadsheet detailing all the natural growths and skills that all the characters could learn. What exactly does this mean? This means all the classes in which a character can reach without accounting for S or A+ level supports. For example, Elise's section details her growth rates and learnable skills of the following classes; Troubadour, Strategist, Maid, Wyvern Rider, Wyvern Lord, and Malig Knight. I originally made the sheet for personal use, but since I input so much time into making it, I figured I should share it so it can help others, potentially. I suspect the parent generation it won't help too much for, given it's really just an easy growth rate comparison, but for the children it should help a lot, allowing for an easy means to look at how each parent option affects the child. tl;dr for the Welcome sheet withing the spreadsheet: pay attention to drop downs for the avatar (gender, boon, bane, second class), and the second gen (variable parent). Other things to note when using the spreadsheet; 1) You might want to log in to your own Google account and create a copy so that you aren't competing with others for the drop down use. This is likely most important if you're wanting to see the affects of an avatar parent, since the avatar drop downs have a direct affect on the childrens' growths if Avatar is the selected parent, meaning that someone else changing your drop down selections for the avatar while you're navigating the spreadsheet could screw up your growth numbers for the child. 2) The sheets are all protected EXCEPT for the drop down cells. This means that you can shange which of the drop down options is selected, but it also means someone can accidentally edit one of the drop down cells, removing the drop down and messing up the equations. If this happens please PM me either on this forum or over on GameFAQs (username Blaze1616 as well), as I have a backup copy in the event this happens. 3) Seeing as you all have editting privileges, you're also able to create new sheets. I'll probably be policing the file, at least for a little while, but I'll probably eventually stop. I am hopeful that everyone choosing to use it will be a mature adult about it. So enjoy. I hope this proves helpful for someone other than me! Here's the sheet!
  14. This is the Thread for people who are looking for specific Skills for Certain characters. Please List the Characters and the Skills you need below. Please note that Skills from DLC / Amiibo Classes ARE NOT LEARNABLE from MyCastle Battles You also CAN'T LEARN skills from Characters with the BLUE SHIELDS, you also CAN'T RECRUIT them, so don't include them on your team. For people who are replying to Skill Requests, please try to do the following to make it easier for others Have the Throne Empty for Easy Capture Set your characters on HOLD and/or Remove all of their Equipments Remove DLC Class abilities from that Character to increase skills available If you want to include the Dusk Dragon, please put it close to entrance so we can break them easily. Don't Bait People by Using all Characters with BLUE Shields since they are not recruitable / learnable Also Remember to Hit Update Castle after you finish making changes.
  15. Hey ya'll, nobody ever seems to have Dwyer on the MyCastle teams (odd considering MyCastle is pretty much the only thing he's good for :P) I was hoping I could pick up some skills for him from somebody? Namely, I'm trying to find some of the Activation skills like Lethality, Luna, Miracle, etc... or Nohrian Trust I suppose I've got Aptitude and Hoshidan Unity if anyone wants them for him (also have some other stuff for random other people) Castle Address is: 04222-37974 15838-84699 Lastly I know it's a longshot cuz he tends to be people's throwaway kid, but I was really hoping to find some of the DLC class skills.if that's at all possible. Namely Aether, Ignis, and Awakening (Great Lord, Grandmaster, and Great Lord skills) Any of those for MU would be absolutely fantastic and appreciated as well. Thank you so much in advance for anyone who can help me out!
  16. I've been looking through my castles, but I can't seem to find many skills for a Kana (M). I found many Kana (F), but since they can't learn skills from each other that really didn't do me any good. I'm looking for my castles that have Kana (M), if you know of any please tell me their friend code.
  17. Can a character get a infinite amount of skills or only a certain amount? I know they can equip 6 at once, but can they learn more?
  18. Hi guys, so I just wanted to ask about how buying skills in Fates works. I get the general concept and stuff but I wanted to know what skills can I buy. From what I've heard you can buy skills as long as that unit has access to that class. So what if for example I have Hana and I screwed up her A+ support and chose Sakura over Felicia. Since Hana's Heart Seal is Shrine Maiden it is pointless to choose Sakura right. Now my main question is since Hana can gain access to Felicia's Troubadour class if she A+ support her then can I buy skills from a Hana that has skills from the Troubadour class tree? I apologize if what I am saying is confusing to you but I am just as confused as you guys with this whole skill buying thing LOL.
  19. Can Quiet Strength and Inspiration work together to reduce incoming damange by -4?
  20. Since I got so much free time I decided to create another file, parallel to my other file, and I would like some help with it. I plan on going for another Fe!MU but this time put her as a Sniper. I know Sniper isn't the most valued class, but I would like to go for it anyway. Let's start off with Asset/Flaw. I thought +Spd/-Lck but would +Str/-Lck be an option? What should I take if I want to do this on Lunatic (I might do this on Hard first before trying to repeat it on Lunatic)? For skills, besides Galeforce and Bowfaire, what would be good? I want one proc at least, which means Luna/Ignis/Sol/Astra/Lethality. I would think Luna would be the best. Armsthrift? Any +2 skill? Anything else? A Breaker skill? Following the previous part, what order should I go through the classes I need to get my 5 skills? Something less relevant in terms of customization of MU is the pairing. I have thought about Chrom!Inigo since I will pair Chrom with Olivia but also about going with Lon'qu. If I go with either of these I will make a save before I trigger the S-support so I can go for a Basilio pairing, which I have wanted to do for a long time, though that one is just for fun. Besides Chrom!Inigo and Lon'qu I have also considered Gerome, probably Lon'qu!Gerome, and Frederick. Thoughts on all of these? Finally, would I need to do or change anything special if I would do this on Lunatic? Thanks to everybody who decides to leave their thoughts and help me!
  21. Yo people. I just started another Hard run and for the first time went with Fe!MU. I decided on going a magic route with her and chose +Mag/-Def for her asset/flaw and I plan on having her end up as a sage. Now, the problems I have are the skillset and who I would want to marry. First off, the skillset. I thought about running Tomefaire/Rally Spectrum/Ignis/Galeforce/Magic +2 but I'm not a huge fan of Ignis. Are any of the other offensive procs worth it? What would be a better option instead of Magic +2? Then comes the problem of who I want to marry. I've heard about Ricken!Owain being a good choice for getting a good Morgan out of it. If I would want Owain, what skills should he have and what does he want to pass down? Finally Morgan. Obviously I want him to get Galeforce and end up in a magic class. But I got nothing else planned really. Ideas? Thanks for the help in advance.
  22. Hello Serenes, sorry for a very brief question post, but I was just wondering if anyone can give me a " tier list" of the skills in the game. Be it PVP or solo, it may say weird, but I don't really care which one you give me. I saw one once, but foolishly didn't save/follow it. I'm not really one for tiers for skills really, but I just want to gauge a few skills. Thanks for your help in advance!
  23. Hi guys, I was curious as to what class skills are the best in Fates in people's opinion?
  24. Who will you make your Avatar into?: *Name *Gender *Hoshido/Nohr *Class *Appearance http://luminescentblade.github.io/KamuiCustomizer/ *Who will he/she marry And anything else you can think of. P.S. I'm sorry if this is already a thread; I searched for one but didn't see another one.
  25. So I just cleared hard with random pairings that I went off aesthetics since I can't really read japanese that well. But now, i'm starting a lunatic file and would like some feedback on what pairings are optimal, or at least effective. My plans so far: trueblade MU(+str/-def or +spd/def, idk) and Felicia (class undecided) OR FeMui (same class/assets) and Joker if I decide to pair Felicia with Leo Paladin Xander and Berserker Charlotte Dark Knight Leo and either Felicia or Nyx Berserker Arthur and Berserker/General Effie (changed by recommendation) Hero Luna and Managarmr Flannel Berserker Belka and General Benoit Along with the pairings above, I would like to use Kaze or Zero, or even both, as mage killers, but have no idea who to pair them with or classes. I'll get all the children for experience, but i'm probably not going to invest in them because I'm focused more on clearing the game rather than pvp/postgame (nohr grinding sucks), so i'd like opinions on how to optimize the first generation. Any suggestions on how to improve my current pairs or finish up my remaining ones?
