  1. Hey people! Calling all spriters! I need YOUR help! I'm working on a collaborative FE hack on this forum, and I need some portraits for my characters! Please make sure you include the blinking and talking frames and also the chibi portrait. Portraits needed Mcdoga: Looks like Sain but with black hair and black armor Dominik: Looks like Canas but with blonde hair and without the monocle Christian: Looks like Joshua but with black hair and an eyepatch You can post the finished sprites directly in this thread.
  2. My game is nearing completion as all I have left are the sprites. My brother has been drawing them for a long time now (since June, I think), but has now hit a slump and is too focused on his own work to continue. So for one final time, I am asking for help on here. Conditions: This is a freely made game and will be downloaded for free, so no money. Sorry. Parameters and concepts for the sprites can be sent to whomever accepts this request. They are battle and over-world sprites with no animations, so it's a simple still sprite, unless otherwise needed. My brother has done a majority of the work so far with 57 battle sprites made and about 20 over-world sprite sheets. About 30 battle sprites are left with maybe 5-8 needing over-world representatives. If you want to see how much work we've put into this, you can view the sprites and other game information here: http://powermastergame.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=15877642 It's almost done and I don't want to abandon the project. I've asked for help before back when the game was fairly new in development, but now that there's not much left to do, I'd figure I'd ask one last time. Please PM me or post here if you want to help!
  3. Does anyone know where I can get an Ike sprite. If so, how can I put it in my hack?
  4. So I was looking for a custom female berserker map sprite and, after searching for some time I noticed that there is no place in this forum where custom map sprites are posted. Not even the Resouces Directory has any map sprites that I could find. Shouldn't some sort of compilation of Open Source Custom Map Sprites exist, like the one we have for battle animations?
  5. Welcome to the SF Open Source Gallery! The purpose of this event is to build a very healthy amount of open source assets to project makers and the like, since there is so few available at the moment. All art assets directly go open to the public. This is completely non-competitive, there are no polls, votes or anything of the like. Just friendship! How it works 1. Pretty simple, you PM me your work. And at the end of the month, all works are showcased in a separate thread (or this one, or Spriter's Resource thread) and will immediately become open source upon reveal. 2. Said reveal happens near the end of each month. Giving a spriter around 3 or more weeks to send in something. Guidelines 1. The fourth Open Source Gallery (OSG) event starts now. 2. Submissions are to be PM'd to me through Serenes Forest. There is also an infinite number of submissions you can give, the more the merrier! 3. You can submit any type of art asset, that includes portraits, map sprites, maps, battle sprites, etc. 4. You must provide whether you want to remain anonymous when the time comes to present the gallery at the end of the month. 5. If you in fact provide your name, you must include whether you want to have the potential user of your work to give credit to you or not. Theme and important dates 1. The Fourth theme of the OSG is The Radiant Collection! Click here for Nickt's most updated portrait list. You are encouraged to use only these portraits to splice with. For mappers, you can make PoR and/or Radiant Dawn inspired maps. 2. The start date of submission begins now! 3. The end date of submission is December 1st. Good luck! And hopefully we get a lot of participants!!! Remember, you can submit as much art as you want! ----------------- Theme 1: Knights, Bandits and Villagers: Total Count: 13 maps. 1 class card, 24 portraits Theme 2: Nobles and Evil Doers: 15 maps, 30 portraits Theme 2: Lords and Evil Doers Total Count: 16 maps, 33 portraits
  6. Greetings from FEPlanet everyone! Known as Nine-IX here on Serenes', I am Speedy - IX, one of the New Admins of FEPlanet. I've been given the "keys" to our online pvp Fire Emblem game Fire Emblem Tactics Online (FETO) and have gotten around to making various updates with the new site owner. In the past, the game was known for having multiple classes that don't exist in canon FE (or at least the GBA ones) and our community was once large and vast enough that we had spriters willing to help, however that is no longer the case. So with us being a bit short-handed on spriters, I am here to seek help from some talanted users here. We're in need of some Overworld and possibly battle sprites for FETO (both GBA style). Do I have any takers (PM me or continue reading)? If so, there is more specific info on the sprites needed here "Don't leave us hanging!" :D
  7. Hello everyone! I hope this is the correct place to make this post. I've written up some basic outlines for characters that will appear in my hack, and since I am no artist, I need someone else to do the art for me. I'm going to need 13 mugs and 3 animations. Before I list what I need, I feel it necessary to give some basic background of my game: NOTE: I have found someone to do the mugs. The animations section is at the bottom of this post. You might need to reference Percival's and Ingrid's entry in the character list for this. Okay, so here are the character's I need mugs for: Percival Ingrid Sonja Harold Isadora Sharlotte Rota Joachim Anne Einar Violet Richter I also need a male thief, but I haven't decided on any details yet. I'm open to suggestions. :) As for the three animations, the first one is easy; I just need a female monk, exactly like the standard monk animation just a female. Then I need an animation for Percival and Ingrid. For Ingrid I'd like her to carry a tome in her left hand which she opens in front of her, flips through a few pages, pauses on a page for a bit then extends her arm out in front of her in a swift motion. The critical animation is almost the same, except after the pause, she flips through a few more pages quickly followed by a small flash over her head signifying a bright idea, then the hand motion. For Percival, I'm not sure yet. I'll leave it up to you. As I said in the topic title this will be paid work. If you're interested send me a private message and we can discuss payment. All I ask as that these mugs and animations be original if possible, instead of modified default sprites. Many thanks and best regards, Gryphon
  8. So I decided to take a shot at making a portrait because so many people do it and make awesome ones. So I took a rather spotty one as inspiration and tried my own portrait. It's that MarkyJoe portrait and I made my own version of it (because I saw it in those ragefests so often that I decided I wanted to try that sprite because it was pretty simple). I don't know, I think that he might be a bit too *small* so to speak. I don't think it looks particularly bad, but is it Fire Emblem? I don't think so. Any advice? I feel happy about the chibi portrait though. I'm pretty good with Chibi.
  9. Hello everyone! I'm relatively new to the forum and I'm making a FE8 hack. It's not too ambitious, just basically vanilla FE8 with some new and rebalanced classes, extra weapons, extra supports, much harder difficultly, and eventually (if I can figure out how) a few more chapters. I don't want to go down in ROM history, just create a better alternative to regular FE8. Re-Balanced difficulty and class changes. AKA, the bulk of what I'm doing. Things done already are highlighted in Green New Content AKA Stuff I largely don't know how to do yet. As you can see this is a huge undertaking, and I don't expect to finish it all. I'm going to use available animations for all I can, and maybe beg help for the animations that don't exist yet. There are animations for the halbardier class I want to use, but the link in the animation resourse thread is dead. I also once saw a video of a swordwoman attacking with a mauth dog that I want to use for Velour, but I don't know what the deal is. I hope to be able to work out a deal with people who can help me. I can write smut for you perverts if you give me what I want Right now I've increased the difficulty of the presplit and about four Erika route chapters, but that part is the easiest thing I have to do. Any feedback you folks can provide is much appreciated.
  10. Well, I did exactly as the title says. Please, tell me all of the horrendous, terrible things I did wrong, (preferably also tell me how to fix it), and offer general advice about things that I tend to not think of at all, such as color scheme. If you want, that is. I guess I'll show you guys what I have. Please note that I am very bad at this, and just think it's fun to do, that's why I have these in the first place. Also, there's only one. C: I really only do these from boredom, and with school and all being here, that probably will happen less. Because I was inspired by the Radiant Collection, I also made Takumi in GBA form. Well, tried at least. I think if I ever manage to fix it, I'll definitely be doing more Fates characters. I'm still working on it, but it may take a while, as shading is a thing that I'm bad at. Obviously.
  11. I've had this sprite for some time now and I was planning to start animating it, but to be honest, I think there is something weird about it (especially the helmet). What do you guys think? Update:
  12. This is basically a GBA animation of the FE13 Griffon Rider, but now with Swords! Get yours with only $19.99 Wow, I started this back in 2013, but I was inexperienced and kept losing interest. Now it's ready and I'm very excited to release this! NO Permission required to use. Whereas the FE13 Griffon Rider had stats that were in between Falco Knights and Dragon Lords and acted like aerial swordmasters, this rendition is sword of (Best pun EVARR) meant to play like an aerial Hero class, with balanced stats all around, but with slightly more HP, Str and Def, and slightly less Luck and Res. Update (9/6/15): Map sprite palette updated. DOWNLOAD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/36q3sj0wwl2ccqk/Griffon%20Knight%20by%20the%20Blue%20Druid.zip?dl=1

  15. I found this cool Griffon Rider animation that came with a map sprite and I wanna know how to import it. Does anyone here know I can do that?
  16. Lords and Main Characters actually. I did most of these a while back, but I added Alm, Leif, and Seliph.

  18. Hey everyone, hows it going? Hey, so recently I was looking around at the map sprites in Awakening, and I noticed that there are no map sprites for the Dread Fighter or Bride class in this game. I've searched everywhere, Serene's Forrest, VG resource, other Fire Emblem fan sites, and a good amount of time in Google Images searches, and I'm pretty sure the sprites haven't been ripped yet. If anyone here can help or knows of a place that can help, I'd very much appreciate it! (Side note: there are multiple palletes for each class).

  20. Hey, all. Work on the final check-through of my other project is still ongoing, so in the meantime, allow me to show off some of the other things I've done when I've had enough of looking at dialogue and manipulating code for a while. First off, we have this: [spoiler=Animations hidden within] Looking at the ever-neglected cult classic class, I went and edited the melee-range animations for the GBA Soldier. So now you can have smoother frames and witness an infantryman's impression of a marching band drum major/majorette...except it's much more lethal. The frames for throwing Javelins are still under construction. The lance-twirling comes from the original javelin-throwing frames, some of the leg positioning from other frames, and the *shing* effect was inspired by The Blind Archer's Halberdier v2. But other than that, everything else is either the original material or custom-made by yours truly. This set of animations has NOT been tested in or prepared for FEditor or any other sprite-based romhack tool. These are raw .gifs. I will update this thread when I feel I have something to show, so posts could be frequent, sporadic, or something in-between.

  22. Updated the topic title, because I'm a Jane-of-All-Trades I'll be dumping some of my sprite-work, written works and images from an FE-inspired J-RPG I'm making ( female lead, brown hair, uses bows, 'nuff said ). That 3rd Tier project is going to take too much of my time, orz. General FE fanart: All my art is done with the mouse. Images from my RPG. Chibi sprites: Cuter than the FE GBA sprites. XD

[spoiler=Helpful Tutorials] Here's a good tutorial on use of colors in pixel art and spriting... and some others that may be a bit more advanced... but good reads anyways... So you Wanna be a Pixel Artist? 11 part series. -A bit wordy, but very well done in-depth look at the world of pixel art in general, from map tiles to sprites to animations. BwdYeti's tutorials are very recommended reads as well. Please share if you know of any other excellent tutorials! :D ...so here are the links to BwdYeti's custom battle sprite tutorials... Hoping to apply those to my next couple sprites now that I understand it a bit better. BwdYeti's Custom Battle Sprite Tutorial #1 -kinda old, from before 2009... But a great look at the process of creating custom battle sprites from the Best Battle Spriter around... Then and now. Yeti's custom tutorial #2 -his second tutorial, even better than the first!
