  1. Streaming FE4 Binary Blind!

Hi there everyone! I'm doing a first playthrough of FE4 Binary and streaming it for the world to see. Drop on by and let's all have a good time watching me suffer! https://www.twitch.tv/lunarisparadox
  2. It'll be written like a story, with the occasional screenshot (and hopefully some humor). It'll be played completely blind, Hard/Classic, dead means dead (except for Game Over, of course). When on Saturday I'll post the first part is TBD, it depends on how long it takes me to play, type it out, arrange text and screenshots to my satisfaction, and get it posted. So join me as we dive into this new/old Fire Emblem game.
  3. Ah yes, TearRing Saga. The brainchild of Shouzou Kaga, claimed to be so similar to Fire Emblem that Kaga himself ended up in a lawsuit over the likeness to the beloved Nintendo series. Normally, this is where I'd go on and on covering the similarities, the differences, what this game brings to the table, etc. However! I know nothing about this game other than the first two lines of text I wrote for this thread. The classic Fire Emblem titles (1-5) have a special place in my hearth though, and I couldn't pass up a chance to play this when I learned of a new translation patch, so here we are! That said from what I hear (and the two hours I've played), if you enjoy your characters with plenty of backstory, along with plenty of classic Fire Emblem action and kickass music, then I say let's play us some TearRing Saga. NO SPOILERS please. 1 - Fire Emblem Gaiden 2 - The Bandits of Taurus
  4. Next week I hope to start something I've been looking forward to doing for a while. I recently finished creating a web page that can be used to generate a random "skill tree" (set of skills each class learns) for Fire Emblem Fates (see details here) and am planning to to use it for a run through the Revelation path on Lunatic-Classic difficulty. The way this works is that each time one of my units earns a skill by reaching a level milestone in their class, I consult the table generated using that webpage to find the shuffler-chosen skill corresponding to that milestone. Then at the end of the chapter, I use a save editor to overwrite the skill that the game awarded, replacing it with the one chosen by the shuffler. The shuffler will never give a class a completely useless skill, so e.g. Swordfaire will always go to a Sword-using class. The reason I call this a "double-blind" run is that, first of all, it's my first time through Revelation, and second of all, I'll be using the "Surprise Mode" on the shuffler, so each skill is hidden until one of my units reaches the class/level milestone to earn it. Since it is a blind run, I'll be commenting on the story as well as the gameplay, and there will be spoilers for all 3 routes (as I have played the other ones already). Please do not give story spoilers for Revelation chapters I haven't played! The run will start at Chapter 7 using a +Mag -Str female Avatar. The run will not use DLC or Path Bonuses. However, it will use Challenges/Scouting to train underleveled characters (as Revelation is infamous for units joining at a way-too-low level, that much I know). ----------- Anyway, one feature of the shuffler is that it allows the user to optionally include some or all of the enemy skills in the shuffle, in case the player wanted to see what it's like being able to earn them by leveling up and turn some of the game's nastiest tricks against itself. I can see why doing that would be appealing to some and unappealing to others, so... BRANCH OF FATE: CHOOSE YOUR PATH! Option 1 *LOSER (1 vote)* I will use only the standard skills from the classes in the base game. They'll be shuffled around, so who knows which'll get what, but they'll all be there. -or- Option 2 *WINNER (5 votes)* I will set the shuffler to exclude some of the less exciting standard skills, and replace them with the lowest-power tier of enemy skills. These enemy skills will have to be earned by reaching the class/level milestones chosen by the shuffler, just like any other skill. The following changes would occur if option 2 is chosen: Excluded: Golembane, Future Sight, Shove, Swap, Skill +2, Luck +4 Included: Point Blank, Winged Shield, Bold Stance, Hit/Avo +10, Resist Status, and the one...the only...the dreaded...Inevitable End. I'll leave it up to you, the eventual readers, to decide. I won't start the run until sometime on or after Monday, September 19, so you have until then to vote in the topic poll. The topic poll is now closed. Until we meet again, have a nice weekend everyone!
  5. Alright so after realizing I really suck at Xcom 2 and my computer can't handle it I'm back to Fire Emblem. Sacred Stones is still on hold, but I decided that I should continue going through the games and thus Path of Radiance was chosen! Just like Sacred Stones I know nothing about the story and even less about the characters except that the main character has a sword :P. I'm very excited to play this game, since not even my friend has played it and he said he'll be watching. No pressure, right? [spoiler=Story] It starts off with two men clashing (one obviously being the protagonist). Ike gets knocked down and when a little girl distracts the older man Ike strikes at him, but is easily defeated and knocked unconscious. Ike then proceeds to have a dream about an indigo haired woman and is woken up by the little girl's song and possibly the worst voice acting in history. [spoiler=Tutorial] We go through the beginning of the tutorial where Mist gets onto our father about hitting Ike so hard. Then Ike defends his honor by wanting to challenge his father once more, but before he can...OMG IS THAT ROSS!? He's back from the dead! It's a miracle! But in actuality his name is Boyd and he is offered to be our training dummy. I then proceed to kill Ross. Again. Mist then proceeds to insult Boyd and I begin my fight with my Father and win easily. Ike then begs to be a mercenary since apparently Ross is one too. My Father relents and I officially join the Greil Mercenaries. We got a really good level btw I'll do the 1st Chapter right after posting this, but I really wanted to just get this out there and start playing this game. Also any help regarding items or recruitable units is much appreciated.
  6. Hello, my name is Roy Havenstone. I recently lent my voice to the main character of Wingdaria Destiny, a western indie visual novel that's currently seeking funding on kickstarter to turn it into a full-fledged game. Set in a medieval fantasy, Wingdaria Destiny focuses on the forbidden love between a princess and a blind peasant. It features all original artwork, characters and music, and promises 4 different paths and 20 different endings. This is all from the mind of youtube JoyDreamer and her team, so I hope you'll give it a shot and maybe donate, as every little helps. All information about rewards, stretch goals, and link to the game's website and a demo of the game can be found here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/390897415/wingdaria-destiny-adventure-romance-visual-novel Thanks again and let's make this destiny a reality!
  7. From the creator of Corrupt Theocracy, Blademaster! has created a sequel called Sun God's Wrath in Fe8. Looks really good so I am going to LP it and play it blind. I didn't read everything in moniker's LP but I am more of a gameplay guy anyway so not knowing the history exactly is not a big deal to me, I can still get the gist of it. For more information on the lore and stuff go here: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=53190 I will be playing this in hard mode to also be somewhat of a beta tester for that mode and provide feedback as I go. Let's get this shit started. Prologue, laying down the story
  8. In an effort to actually motivate myself to beat this damn game, I'm gonna stream me playing Thracia 776. And to make it more entertaining it's going to be a blind iron man run of the game. Kill me now. As per usual this will follow the normal ironman rules, but I'm going to change the reset rule. I'm going to implement a "reset state" in case Leif dies during a chapter. Basically I just make a save state at a point in the chapter and that I get to load the most recent state in case Leif dies. This is mainly to mitigate time spent on chapters so I won't be spending multiple hours doing the same chapter over and over again. The pros of this system is that I get to not restart the whole chapter when I lose Leif. The cons are units lost before the state are permanent unless a full chapter restart is necessary, bad positioning is permanent, bad levels are permanent, etc. Also I only get 3 of these per chapter so I can't abuse it. Now technically this won't be truly blind till about chapter 6 since most of my runs end around chapter 4 or 5 so I know those chapters a bit. Now that I've got that stuff out of the way, I need your help. I can't decide on whether or not to play on Elite mode or Normal mode. So I'm gonna leave it up to you guys. Vote here: http://strawpoll.me/5373998 I'll be streaming on my Twitch channel. It will happen at around 3 PM CST on Sundays. Any changes to my schedule will be posted on my Twitter.

Hello, this is my LP of FE4. Here it begins. Hopefully you'll enjoy: I apologize in advance, if some units are going to die, because I'm very VERY bad at this game. [spoiler=Prolog part 1] Welcome to FE4 Genealogy of the Holy War. It's the first time that I play this game and it's also my first blind LP of a regular FE game. Since I'm enjoying FE5 a lot atm, I thought to start doing a LP of its prequel. Since it's blind LP I know almost nothing about this game. I know that for example skills and marriages exist, but I don't know, how exactly these mechanics work. I try to find it out as much as possisble by myself. However tips and hnits are always appreciated! So let's start this: A rolling timeline - cool! Never have seen it in FE before. Geography Judgral's (I show it uncutted, because I need it to understand the entire story) Grandbell Lots of douchfaces I know this guy Agustria Verdane Current situation I think I know, what they're going to do... Sirgod They're f**ked! Sirgod and Noish This is Oifaye, when he was a cute teenager. "Mr. Frankenstein" Ardan and Alec Map Since in FE4 the maps are much larger than in any other FE game and the fact that the SNES9x has a different image format than VBA, I can't show you the full map. I only will show you the images, where the main action takes place. Jungby in the south, which will be defended by Midir. Probably vainly... Chalpys in the east, where my units start. Another castle in the west, which isn't taken (yet). My allies Noish Noish is a social knight, who can use sword and lances. Cavaliers are divided in this game: sword, axe, lance and bow cavaliers exist; also cavaliers, which can use two weapon types already. So far as I know mounted units can't be dismounted in FE4. Explanation of some terms (please correct me, if I'm wrong): Lover: I believe, if you attack next to your partner, you'll get an automatic critical. Talk: If you talk to this person, you'll get a reward. Gold: ? Arena: ? State: ? Anima magic divided in this game like in FE5 and Tellius. His stats for level 3 are pretty insane. In general the base stats of the allies are pretty high for their level, because also the enemies have damn high base stats (will explain it later). Each of my allies has at least one skill. Noish even has two: critical and charge Tbh I don't exactly, what charge will do, but think I'll find it out sooner or later. Sigurd Sigurd is the main character of Gen 1. He's a lordknight. He has awesome weapon ranks (* = max rank I think). He also has two leadership stars, which could give him +10 hit and evasion like it does in FE10. Pursuit sounds like adept from the Tellius series, another attack. Overall a pretty damn good unit! Ardan Ardan is a swordarmor knight with expectable stats of a knight. Armorknights also seem to be split in sword, axe, lance and bow. He has nice sword rank and the ambush skill. It seems to work like FE13 vantage. Not as good as it's in FE5. Alec Alec is another socialknight. One level below Noish with accordingly lower stats. Same weapon ranks like Noish. He also has pursuit and nihil, which works identically like it does in FE10. It cancels the skill(s) of the opponents. Midir [ Midia is a bow cavalier. He can't do anything against all these brigands with her only 2 range weapons. His stats are alright. He also has pursuit and charge. Boss Now the castle in the west Evans is seized by this guy: Look at these stats: 55 HP and 16 speed - insane! Too bad that his weapons weigh him down so dramatically! The hand axe weighs 20 (!!!) and there's no buffer in this game. So his speed should be 0. Enemies In this chapter you only fight axe and bow brigands. Like I earlier said not only my units have pretty damn good stats, but also the enemies. The brigands have up to 40 HP. In the first turn I'm killing the first enemy. Right: Stats of your unit's weapon Left: Stats of the enemy's weapon One imprtant advice: You must defend the castle where you start. If an enemy captures it => Game Over; same goes when Sigurd dies. Also make sure to place an unit in this castle, whenever an enemy is very close to it. The castle throne also gives you very nice boosts. In the enemy phase Midir couldn't defend Jungy as I expected. The enemies capture not only the castle Jungby, but also Aideen. Aideen will be brought to Evans and a brigand destroys the bridge. First I must recapture Jungby! Enemies will come towards me and will burn villages! Two more allies - Azel and Lex Lex Lex is axe cavalier with excellent base stats and weapon level and two awesome skills: Ambush (like Ardan) and elite, which gives you double experience. Probably one of the best units in this game! Azel Azel is a mage with very nice base speed. He hasn't as awesome skills as Lex has, but still a pretty good unit I think, since is the first non physical unit in this game!
  10. so yeah i know alot of my playthroughs have failed due to no one actually looking a them. but i will try one last time, well it is partly me to blame due to being to lazy to actually play the game and type, but what i mean by the almost blind is i have gotten to chapter 4 and thats it. i would do this on hard mode if it were unlocked!
