  1. Hello, I've been itching to play Echoes again for like... ever since it came out, to make sure it's still one of my favorite FEs or is just nostalgia, so I thought I'd try out a draft of it, if that's okay? But since it's my first one and I have not as much experience with the game, I think it should be a bit more relaxed, and well... less optimal, I guess~ But with all that said, here are the rules I've come up with~ Rules: Free Units: Alm, Celica, One Extra Unit of Your Choice Banned Units: None~ Player Count: 2-4 Players, preferably able to be talked with on platforms such as Discord and the like to share progress~ Grinding: If you can avoid it, great, but no penalty for doing so unless it actively ruins fun for the rest of us~ Mode: Classic, Hard Banned Stuff: No DLC, No Mila Turnwheel/Chapter Resets, No Invoke 'Winning' is defined simply by getting to the end, and since I tend to quit on lots of my playthroughs, I'd consider this a win personally lol~ But feel free to go for LTC or whatever, would love to learn some FE strats from you, if you'd like to help out your 'opponent' lol~ If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer, but as I'm new to this concept, I don't quite know how good I'll be at answering~ If you have any rules you'd like changed, feel free to inquire, and with all that said, would love to play with anyone who wants to also revisit Valentia again, peace~!
  2. Drafting 1. This is a draft for 3 players 2. Genny Silque Alm and Celica are free 3. This will be played on hard mode Rules 1. No deploying undrafted units 1b. For 1-1 and 1-2 undrafted units may not fight but they may block heal tiles 1c For Berkut fight undrafted units that are forced into the temple must hide in a corner and may not trade or use white magic ect, with drafted units 1d For Dungeons use the evacuate command to undeploy undrafteds 2. All turns spent in all maps count This includes Map spawns and Dungeon fights, Grinding in dungeons IS allowed but you have to pay the turncounts (advice, if you wish to skip map spawns you can use hover rigging https://youtu.be/mCu-rQIVVCo) 2.a.b if you wish to avoid getting ambushed by a map encounter use the wait command to control where the map spawn walks. 3. Saber and conrad are Free for 2-E 4. You are required to do all fights on the world map including Nuibaba's abode and Beast Hunt and also do The dragon shrine fight, the duma lance fight and the Hexlock Shield fight (the necrodragon fight between Zeke's map and Rigel Falls is skippable) 5. Drafting order is snake draft 1-2-3-3-2-1 repeated until all 30 draftable units are taken (Sonya and Deen are drafted separately) 6. Money grinding in dungeons is limited to 15 silver worth of box breaking/grass cutting per dungeon, ( excluding duma tower) provisions are valued at their sell price at the smithy. The first 4 seabound shrine corral does not count toward this limit, in deliverance hideout/Thieves shrine this limit is shared between alm and Celica. 6b. unlimited amounts of grinding is allowed in duma tower 6c. A player upon reaching duma tower is allowed to use the mila's gift DLC to gain 8 extra gold, aside from this all DLC is banned. 7. 0 turning your first visit to dragon shrine will count as 0 turning it, but 0 turning any other map will count as 1 turning it. Penalties 1.Skipping Fear mountain or Nuibaba's abode is a 5 turn penalty 2.Skipping any dungeon map (Duma lance, Hexlock shield, Necrodragons in dragon shrine, Brigand boss) is a 2 turn penalty 3.Having an undrafted unit fight is a 1 turn penalty each time they fight something. (except for saber in 2-E) 4.Deploying an undrafted unit is a 1 turn penalty per unit (on top of penalty 3, does not apply in the final dungeon 1-1, 1-2 or when ambushed by a map reinforcement)
  3. I know that at this point the FE15 modding/hacking community is basically dead after the no reinforcement patches were released. Regardless, this game has a huge soft spot in my heart. It got me through a miserable summer job as a camp counselor, and I'll always be grateful for that. One thing that I'm in the stages of starting to code out is a randomizer for the game. There's still a lot to figure out in terms of writing something to patch the romfs, but at the early stages of this, I just wanted to make something that generates random classes so that I can play the game with random classes. I figured that the fastest way to do this run without writing a full-blown C++ application (which I still want to do if there's interest), is to make use of cheat codes as well as write some JavaScript to make a web-based tool so that everyone else could take advantage of! Spoiler alert, JavaScript and web development is outside of my standard programming expertise, so I apologize if my code doesn't run well on some browsers. With the JS that I wrote as well as some exploration and discovery of in-game mechanics, I've done a pretty good job of figuring out the rules for a randomized Echoes run, and some of the possible issues that a run would present. Here are my four big takeaways from discovering some game mechanics: 1. A lot of the enemy/Amiibo classes work WAY better than expected and a decent number actually look pretty natural. I also tested the Amiibo, and all of their classes look akin to the playable legacy classes in Fates (eg. Great Lord, Vanguard, etc.) where it was like your character is wearing Marth's/Robin's/Lucina's/Ike's outfit. 2. The sprite system for this game is so cool! The game seems to use this head-and-socket system for classes where your character's head is put onto the class body (the "socket") to genericize the process instead of making custom sprites and throwing a generic sprite when you can't pull one. So that means characters who you would never expect to see specific sprites for (ex. Sonya as a Baron, Python as an Arcanist, Deen as a Hero) still generate sprites due to how the head-and-socket system works. 3. Spell lists stay the same for the most part. Some classes suffer some minor compatibility issues (ex. Can't learn White Magic as a Balor), but for the most part spells stays the same. 4. Alm is not compatible with randomization. For some reason, Alm basically loses all playability when he classes into something other than Unknown, Fighter, Hero, and Conqueror. He is unable to break boxes and as a result he can't navigate most dungeons. So, for most runs, you should opt to keep Alm in his normal class progression. It sucks, but luckily Celica doesn't have that problem. Anyway, here's a link to the tool: Click Here! You can also find a full writeup with the prereqs and some suggested runs here. (CFW and NTR cheats are required to randomize it with the method I'm using. The specific NTR Cheat is the "All Class Selectable by Class Change" option that will allow you to class people into their appropriate random class) I still have yet to do a full playthrough to confirm that the game doesn't crash during any story events. I've started a run, and as of now, nothing has crashed, so I think that's a pretty good sign, but I'll update you if anything happens. I imagine that the probability the game itself crashes is minimal, since all the randomized classes exist within the game, but it's certainly possible. Only thing I could imagine happening is that something weird might happen with cutscenes with Alm and Celica. I'll definitely post an update when I make it to that point! Anyway, when I get closer to actually making something to randomize the system, I'll post it. Hopefully some people will make use of this tool! Either way, really happy to be a part of this community and feel like I'm contributing something.
  4. Is anyone aware of anyone who has been able to build CIAs that install a DLC to add characters/items similar to how Mila's Bounty works? I'm hoping to achieve something similar to what DeathChaos25 was able to do for fates, where he was able to import Chrom, Lissa, and Frederick into the exdata via installing DLC through a CIA file and "playing" the DLC to add characters/items. If anyone's been successful with it or knows of a guide about writing DLC/CIAs for FE15 please let me know
  5. Figured I'd repost this here as I saw the Shadows of Valentia Forum was looking pretty dead and this one seems like it will help me out more. If this is against the Serene Forest rules, I'm sorry (I'm new if that means anything), and I hope you can forgive me. Here's the original post I made. Hello FE Fans! I've been having a lot of fun lately hacking FE games and mostly adjusting Fates growths for some pretty fun results (Kana having 125% in all stats may have been overkill...) but I want to make a more balanced one for Echoes and release it to the public so I'll need a small bit of help. Firstly I will require two rules to start renovating this game. 1. The amount I should tamper with. Echoes can be broken just like all FE games but if I give everyone 127% (The max) in all stats, it wouldn't be that fun, would it? So I'd like to hear your thoughts on where my limits should be. I should have a set percent I can buff (50%, 100%, 150%, etc...) so I'd like your thoughts on that. 2. Should I make characters more balanced or give the same level of buff to everyone? This is the main issue I have right now. I know there's a tier list for FE: SOV so I've come up with a personal problem. Should Alm be as strong as Forsyth? And if I did only give small buffs to high tiers, what is a small buff? And what tier list would I even use? This issue has been driving me nuts and I'd like to know if the imbalance should stay or if I should give higher buffs to low tiers. Yeah that's all I got for now. Depending on feedback time, the patch should come out in two to five days. I hope I can make this game something fun and maybe have this be a series where I'll update and balance my old personal hacks on FE6, FE7, FE8, Awakening, and Fates. But yeah I hope to hear from you all with what you may want from a buff patch to FE15. Thanks and good day to you all!
  6. I've been writing on and off for a while, but between a relatively recent replay of Echoes and a less-recent replaying of GotHW, I came up with a Crossover story centered around Sigurd surviving Belhalla in a modern AU where he finds himself barred from contacting anyone he ever knew. While I'll try to update it here first from here on, here's the first chapter of Little Chalphy (link leads to AO3, so warning if your Job/School forbids access to it). Any feedback is welcome here. While I've been translating documentation and whatnot for a long time, it was only up until a few years ago that I gained enough confidence to start writing fiction in English, so any daft bits you find that sound odd/goofy/out of place to you, do not hesitate to let me know. Good day to you all and thanks in advance.
  7. Which mainline Fire Emblem game do you feel hard the hardest soldiers and why?
  8. So BASICALLY im in act 4, Rigel Castle, and earlier I randomly started wondering "huh, i never DID get palla and catria in Celica's route" so I googled and realized I completely missed them so tl;dr im just a complete moron
  9. First of all, hi! I'm new here! Please forgive my mistakes in English, English is not my main language and ... google translator fails from time to time. That being said, I'll ask my little question: What class do you think is the ''main'' of all the villagers of FE2 / FE15? I'm doing a little rom hack on FE8 with the little porpus on being a little remake / remaster (I do not really remember the difference from them right now), but I do not promise it will be good or even finished. Note: You can also choose classes that are not present in the Villager promotion, such as an Axe user. I really do not think I'm going to need any more help besides that, since I'm already familiar with hacking tools and such. That's all, thanks for any advice I might receive!
  10. I wanna know what people think about 15's 4th tier. Do you like them, do you hate them, do you not like what they got rid of? I personally like all of them, they are kinda broken and a bit useless at times. But I still like it them to a sense, thank you for your input :)
  11. Since the rest of the world is getting Echoes in 9 days (as of the time of posting), how well has it been doing in Japan after a month of being out? And how is the game faring for preorders in the US and Europe?
  12. Well, it's confirmed that the next hero batch we're getting is Celica and her crew from Shadows of Valentia. The super lucky draw for today's red heroes is Celica - https://twitter.com/FEHeroes_News/status/859271999427821568 Thoughts and theories on what her set up may be and who'll come with her?
  13. You all know very well it's coming, sooner or later. Our beloved dating simulator with a tactics minigame tacked on prints too much money for IS to just give up on it. The question is... What new things do you want to see from the next installment? Are there any old mechanics you'd like IS to bring back? Is there a current mechanic you'd like to see them rework or get rid of? Would you rather it be a remake of an older FE or something new? Do you want it to be on the 3DS or the Switch? Why is Meg so perfect? Personally, I'd like to see something new, though I wouldn't mind a remake. I mean, if IS dangled in front of me a chance to play with Alm, Leif, Hector or Niime in a sick new model with a sick new art style, you bet your ass I'd be all over that. Still, I'd like to see IS deliver something completely new to the table. They did some interesting stuff with the classes in Fates (Like giving us a cool Bow + Staves class), so I'm excited to see what they might do next. Anyway, share your thoughts. I'd like to hear what you guys want.
  14. In a article in Gameinformer magazine I got today, they covered the history of the franchise as well as confirmed that the 15th entry is already in development No information beyond that FE15 exists was confirmed in the article, but it is worth noting that it is in development FE15 HYPE Edit: Gameinformer got it wrong in the physical magazines, Nintendo still hasn't said anything regarding FE15.
  15. Now I love Fates, the characters and supports that do shine really shine (P.S I wanted Kagero popularity art but you can't win them all ). The gameplay is pretty amazing, arguably the best the series has offered, the worldbuilding and stuff... yeah needs some work. But in my dream scenario lets forget that and go with what I hope to see if they go with a 3 game system again, overall I felt it worked pretty well, you had 3 differing takes on Maps (and every route had obviously exclusive maps, more so in Revelations) and characters, exclusive classes and such. I REALLY loved it overall and felt it was actually worth the money, and I say that as someone who usually looks for deals 80% of the time. One of my favorite historical (And when done fictionally as well), periods of time to study is the Chinese Three Kingdoms Era, which was a period of time starting around 220 AD, but the conflict that went to that point started around 180ish, with the Yellow Scarves/Turban rebellion, now why did I bring this up? Well if they wanted to do 3 games again, why not try three different perspectives (again), its a long shot, I don't know if they'll get the reception they need to improve on the lackluster writing (although I did really enjoy Birthrights story, maybe I'm just a sucker for simple things). Have a war that has 3 warring kingdoms or nations, trying to conquer each other, no right or wrong, just the leaders morals to go by and their methods like why do they want to rule this nation/region etc, the main character could be a hermit of sorts who's actually studied stuff their entire life/practiced some war stuff or something and then all 3 leaders one by one will visit him/her, hearing of their talents as opposed to say Robin or Corrin, their main importance would be more as an adviser/warrior for the leader they pick. The main focus in the 3 routes would be the ruler they selected to serve, with them chiming in of course, but they wouldn't be the core focus, they'd be our eyes basically. The scenario could also be like, the 3 all tell you stories of how they came to be the rulers of their respective kingdoms and their fight against warlords and the other 2 powerful factions, and from that, the world building starts, you see all 3, and your characters little rural province as well would play a little bit of a role starting off. This could be the first set of chapters, up to maybe chapter 10, so you can have a good bit of building, and from there have about 20 unique chapters per kingdom? I'm not a game designer though, I just have ideas.
  16. FE15 is already in development and the general armor has been leaked by the same asshole who did the smash leaks.
