  1. https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/948901835284283393 So yeah, an impressive feat for Nintendo and the Switch. That's breaking the previous record that the Wii held I believe.
  2. For Fates, I currently have 83:27 on my Activity Log, which is quite a lot for a mere seven times played. The average play time I have is about eleven hours-which is more than double the second place software's average time. Personally, I probably could have done more if it weren't for my job and it's rather ridiculous scheduling times, although I did manage to beat Birthright in the first week, at least. What about you guys? How much have you played Fates this past week?
  3. Fire Emblem: The Blade's Legacy So, about one year ago, after being a FE fan and lurking these forums for a very long time, I decided to try and make a Fire Emblem hack of my own. The hack's release was nothing short of a trainwreck, so I lost interest in hacking for a long time. However, the hack stuck on my mind, and I finally decided to work on it again and make a second patch, which ironed out some bugs, rebalanced some things, slightly changed some text, and added 5 brand-new chapters! Oh, and I also changed the name of the hack, because Fire Emblem: Spreading Flames was a dumb name. This hack has: custom events, story, maps, names, portraits, chapters, battle palletes and two custom animation made by me. ---------- The story follows an ongoing war where the eastern kingdons of the continent of Rozar band together to defend against Uhanda, a invading country from the Uhandan Desert, which is seen by the Rozarians as a country of barbarians. The story is about the struggles of Zofia, a petty kingdon in Eastern Rozar as it tries to survive the conflict despite all odds. ------Screenshots------ -------Download------- LINK TO THE PATCH The patch goes up to Chapter 8 and contains 12 chapters, including the Prologue, a route split, and two gaiden chapters. Patch it to FE7 btw. -------Credits------ Arch, Blazer and Primefusion for their tutorials Agro, Primefusion and others I can't think of right now for kindly answering my questions circleseverywhere for the Enemy Range Display Hacks Brendor for the str/mag animation fix jjl2357 for the Weapon Rank Display Hack eCut and Skitty of Time for the Female Berzerker animation The Blind Archer for the Halberdier 2.0 animation MarkyJoe1990 and Feaw for the Female Shaman animation A Nintenlord for a few of his patches The creators of FEditor, Event Assembler, GBAGE, FE Recolor, Nightmare Modules, FE Map Creator, BSPallete Assembler, NUPS, etc Probably more people I forgot And Blazer and MarkyJoe1990 for inspiring me to make this hack ------------------ I didn't have anyone else to do playtesting, debugging for me, so any feedback and constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated, also, don't expect too much from the story, as I'm a terrible writer and didn't really have a vision while making it.
  4. The Fire Emblem is my favorite video games series of all time (Megaman Battle Network being my second as you can no doubt tell from my profile picture :3)! As I get older, I have my moments when I reminisce on my earlier/first experiences with all the video games series I've enjoyed over the years. Fire Emblem is no different, and since it's my birthday (making me officially legal :3 ) I wanted to kinda honor, share, and hear about other people's experiences with this beautiful (and kinda crushing) series. Back around, I believe, 2007, my friend got me into using emulators (mainly GBA). I didn't really know about many games or game genres considering I had been playing 3D platformers for the past 4 or so years at the time on my playstation(which disappeared some time later) and my new Gamecube. Thankfully my best friend slowly introduced me to a few series here and there. However, they were mostly fighting or action games and I didn't really venture for different games on my own until...well... after Fire Emblem). One day, me and my friend were taking on the phone when he brought up Fire Embelm. When I asked about it, he didn't really know much other than it's a strategy game and if a unit dies, they are gone for good (and..well..the obvious Marth and Roy in Smash Bros Melee). As you could probably guess, I was pretty hesitant at first to try and play it. Thankfully, I was a pretty curious (and brave) kid so after a while I just said, "...alright...I'll give it a shot". THANK. YOU. GOD! And from that day, I really liked Fire Emblem. To be honest though, I wasn't that great and I screwed up...a lot. I didn't like the thought of my units dying for good so I would restart......with...save states. Ok, nothing against save state, but I save stated my way through the whole dang game (and when I say I save stated, I mean I save stated many times during 1 turn) and after beating the game and getting a little older, I felt a little dirty doing that. Actually, I did that a lot with the games I played on the GBA emulator. And like I said, after a while, I felt a little dirty doing that, so one day I decided to go through the whole game without save stating. Thus, the true experience of Fire Emblem began... The joy of getting good levels, the crushing pain of screwing at the end of a chapter and restarting at the beginning, the joy of having my unit clearing the chapters without much of a challenge because they are awesome, the joy and pain of seeing your unit gets a crit right when you needed it and right when it was the worst possible moment (Ex. your unit gets swarmed by enemies in a one way or door and just when the second to last enemy attacks them, protecting them from further attack and death, only for them to get a very out of nowhere crit, killing that enemy and letting another enemy come over just to spear them to death! ......Dang it Roy......), and much more.It also left a big impression on me(especially Lyn . She left a MAJOR impression on me as a kid and it made her my first coolest/B.A. female protagonist in video games. Actually, main protagonist in general) Although, I didn't feel all that to the fullest, really get into, and straight out loving the series until I got my hands on Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. When I finally got the game (after it taunted me for months at GameStop) , I feel in love with the series from that point on. I loved it so much, it kinda started to deep root it self into my love for strategy games as a whole. I probably wouldn't love games like Orge Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon (great game by the way, give it a shot) as much if not for Fire Emblem. I know that's a pretty bold statement (:3), but for me, it's pretty important. That's a lot on my part (and there's more if anyone else wants to hear about it), so I want to hear others peoples experiences. Whether it be long or short, I wanna know. I'm interested in what others may have experienced. So let loose! (Also, after slowly getting older and playing through the games games multiple times, you notice more things. Like for example, Hector is freakin' awesome or Luck betters your dodging skills or how usable a lot of the units are! While some are more obvious, you really notice and appreciate it later on. Know what I mean?)
  5. First Fire Emblem If Run

I'm curious to know how everyone will play their game on their very first run, so feel free to share your choice and reasons. For me it would be: Hoshido Hard/Classic No Reset Little to no grinding (but I will be messing around with Hoshido My Castle). I always play a new Fire Emblem game this way because it reminds me of playing the series for the very first time as a kid and I wanna see how much I've improved as an Fire Emblem player in general by thinking of strategies on the fly and dealing with the consequences of having a character die without making the game unbeatable (i.e Fredrick dying in lunatic during the first few chapters of Awakening). But if Orochi, Orobo or Pieri die... so help me god I will jump out of a freaking window. EDIT: Now Hoshido or Nohr is an option in the poll.
  6. The first Shining Force is one of my favorite games ever, so it's kind of a surprise that I didn't play this remake until very recently (like, a day or two ago). But it really did seem perfect for drafting, and I personally really want to do something like this myself, so...here you find me, making this draft. With some rules, no less! EDIT THE DIFFICULTY IS DEFAULT (NORMAL) AKA WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU START A NEW GAME ON A NEW CARTRIDGE (SO NO CHAPTER 1 BANNED MAWLOCK) 1. This draft is for 4 players, who will each draft 7 units in standard snake style format (no last round reverse going on here). 2. Since they can be undeployed immediately, unless there are any exceptions of units forced into a chapter (besides Max, Narsha, Zuika, and Mawlock), there is a 4 turn penalty for each undrafted unit who is deployed, per battle. 3. Max (main character), Lowe (healing chump), Hans (backup combat chump), & Narsha (to make her gaidens worth it for everyone, also requisite non chump/MC) are free. 4. Mawlock is banned, except for the epilogue chapters. Sorry, he's just too much of a game-changer, and I'd prefer not to have him for this draft. 4. You may use Egress to grind during battles, however turns taken in this period will still be added to your total turncount....So kind of a bit counterproductive. 5. On a similar note, if Max dies (and you opt not to reset), the turns will still be added...so yeah, save a lot? 6. However, you may Egress/retreat as long as no Attacks have been made for that battle (for either side) with no penalty...if you actually clear a map while doing this, 20 turn penalty, JERK! 7. The epilogue chapters will be free for up to 20 turns. 8. If there's anything about the rules that needs fixing, feel free to drop a comment on the thread, even if you're not in the draft. Teams 1.
