  1. Discord Server----> https://discord.gg/ymvjf5J Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/c6tuu5ttudvev8j/Genealogy+Remake.ups Patch to Fe8 (U) So let's start. I'm recreating Fire Emblem 4's second generation, aka the best Fe game in the franchise into the GBA format. I had this idea a lot of time ago, but I only got real interest after I saw circles skill system. This is going to be an adaptation, so it means that while I'll try to make it as close to the source, I'm still gonna change something, as well as set the children's parents on stone.(No it's not just for convenience, some of the added plot to the game will also happen because of sad pairings) As well as some other adjustments and adding characters from thracia game. Substitute characters(Rodolban, Radney, etc) appears as cameos or references, some of them actually will play a bigger role(Azaello I'm looking at you) as well as both Johan/Johalva being playable.(But it won't be the same method from the original, only Johan you'll have to use Larcei, Johalva will join by another form that you'll see later. I'll also set different capter goals, not only seize missions like the original game. As well as adding inside maps for chapters(instead of seizing castle gate, seizing castle throne.) I'm well aware that fe4 gives you only 1 axe user(excluding Hanibal), so in order to avoid that, I added both the brothers and Orsin, so then you get 3 axe users. And if you promote Ulster to hero you'll have 4 axe users. Not forgeting promoted Leif Master Lord that can use everything. More than enough. As for Elder Magic, I've added in Salem to the cast, as he's from Thracia game. Though he won't just come with Leif, Nanna and Finn like Orsin and Eyvel will come, you'll get him another way. Okay, to set this apart from concepts, here's proof that I'm not just words, even though I'm quite a new name around. Credits: Sprites: Atey Yang Kai. Mikey Seregon(?) 2. FE4 3rd Tier possibility

Is it possible to make 3rd tier classes for Fire Emblem 4? If so how? I thought it could work well since levels don't reset in FE4 so the issue of having to gain extra exp in shorter games wouldn't be an issue it could work something like one of these: 1 to 2: Lv10, 2 to 3: Lv20 1 to 2: Lv15, 2 to 3: Lv25 1 to 2: Lv20, 2 to 3: Lv30 if anyone has any info at all on this please inform me
  3. I keep running into snapshot errors around FE4 Chapter 7 on Snes9x and I was thinking it was possible So I can pick up from a specific part where I left off in FE4 on Higan emulator rather than deal with Snes9x's annoying snapshot error bug, does anyone know how to do that? It'd make my playthrough a lot more fun if i didnt have to replay huge chunks of gameplay even though i save state consistently.
  4. Why is Lester blue.

    Why.
  5. Genealogy of the Holy War Engine

(Wasn't sure if this would go here or in Fan Projects, so I flipped a coin.) This is just me being curious, but would it be possible to use FE4's engine to create a ROM hack? I don't mean a translation, but using the game's engine to create an entirely new game from scratch (new sprites, new map design, new classes, new weapons, etc.) Of course, all things in this area are difficult, but I'm wondering if it has ever been done before/could it be possible.
  6. So I've been giving Genealogy a whirl at a friends recomendation... took me a bit to get into it but now that I am... ho... boy I may have bitten off more then I can chew with this one... but I'm not here to rant about that! After one failed attempt (I figured she'd talk to Sigurd not attack him...) and another major screw up after that, I managed to recruit Ayra to my army... I figured I'd have Ayra chase Sigurd over to my army to spare me having to manually move her over... instead of chasing Sigurd she made a beeline for Genoa and DESTROYED the castle! ... I... why? Is it because she was looking for Shannan? Did she ransack the place out of spite? I wasn't even aware a non-thief or brigand unit could even DO that... much less would... does anyone know why she did this? And if there's any consequences for it?
  7. I just wondering about this for a while about the Substitute Characters from Genealogy of the Holy War. I know like they're replacements if one of the mother's didn't married to one of the fathers nor gave birth to the existing children. But, do you guys might wonder where the Substitute Characters might have went off to during at the Child Hunt while their counterparts exist in case if one of the mothers married and gave birth to one of the two off springs (one son and one daughter each) before/after Chapter 5 happened during at Seliph's army in Part 2? I don't think one of the Substitute Characters were mentioned nor make an appearance in Thracia 776 and Awakening as well. And plus, I did see some of the substitute characters were planned to appear in Thracia 776 such as Jeanne (Nanna's counterpart since Nanna had a major role in Thracia 776), Asaello (Febail's counterpart), Daisy (Patty's counterpart), and the other Green haired Female unit that is definitely Hermina (Fee's counterpart and plus, Ced is in Thracia 776 while his own sister isn't in Thracia 776 which you can't recruit Ced and Fee & Hermina and Hawk at the same time during at the Second Part of the story line) were cut in the final version for Thracia 776. And plus, there wasn't any unused data of Hawk and Tristan were founded in Thracia 776 since Ced and Diarmuid are in the final version of Thracia 776. I kinda wondering if Intelligent Systems could make a special Xenologue chapter arcs focus on the substitute characters to have their own story while they aren't in Seliph's army and they're counterparts existed during at the game's plot in case if they're going to plan on making a Genealogy of the Holy War remake in the future similar to like how they did with the Heirs of Fate chapters in Fates.
  8. Fire Emblem 4 Echoes Ideas

Now that Shadows of Valentia has been released and has found success in Japan and all over the world, it seems like IS wants to continue the "Echoes" sub-series. For now it seems like they're leaning toward remaking Binding Blade but I can still hope that Genealogy of the Holy War will get a glorious and proper remake. Assuming that a Genealogy Echoes will be released, what kind of things do you want to see in it? I have a few ideas: Lots and lots of animated cut scenes. GotHW has the best story in FE so I would love to see as much of it developed as possible. Side-stories, flashbacks, all that good stuff. Breaks during the chapters. It not news to anyone that the maps are huge and have a lot of empty space, so breaking them up with cut scenes and a camp or something will make the maps less overwhelming. Add the possibility to get ALL holy weapons. Make it so Lex's kids can inherit Helswath and Azel's kids can get Valflame, etc. Return of the Turnwheel mechanic but obviously with some other lore-friendly gimmick More lovers(support) conversations for all the characters Bonus chapters for other scenarios like Ares retaking Agustria Excellent orchestrations of the OST and new music Fully voice acted(or mostly like SoV) Being able to pair Seliph and Julia without a glitch Adapt that sweet, sweet Eldigan arc from the Oosawa manga That's what I had in mind, anyone have other thoughts? Ideas? I want to know what other people expect for a game like this.
  9. Below I have compiled a list of almost all the etymologies of the person/place/weapon names that are in Genealogy of the Holy War. I would like to point out that I came up with the majority of these etymologies myself but I did not shy away from checking my findings with other sources such as the two Fire Emblem Wikis and some Serenes Forest posts as well. With that out of the way I would like to point out how well researched and inspired this, and by extension all other Fire Emblem games, are in terms of the names used for people/places/objects. Genealogy of the Holy War seems to draw extensively from Norse and Celtic/Irish mythology, and the use of some lesser known names is even more astounding. As a note, the list is not totally complete and it would be great if some of you well informed fans can fill in some of the remaining blanks for the names I have listed. 10. Hopefully this isn't in the wrong place. Stupid question, if you use the glitch according to this guide, does it let you use infinite movement even after ending the turn a few times? According to the guide, it still does on the second turn but I'm confused as to whether it goes on further. I'm asking because I accidentally performed this in the last chapter of the game (on altena) but I don't remember using a dancer. I was able to use Altena (with inf movement) over the course of many turns. If this is abnormal, maybe there's a chance it's my emulator's fault. I'm using SNES 9x2005 on my N3DS to play. I have a save state as well. I should add that while I said I don't remember having used a dancer (I don't remember because I wasn't trying to use the glitch on purpose), I did use two staffs. Altena was out on the field, so I used return on her, and then Hawke was in the home castle (long story) and he used a staff to teleport Altena out to a different castle, then later I noticed I was able to continually use "Return" with Altena.
  11. FE4 And the Knight Ring

I'm playing through chapter 2 of Fe4 and I've tried about three times (not a lot, I know) to defeat all the Heirhein soldiers around Lachesis' castle before they kill Yves. I've failed each time. I know you can get the Knight Ring from her at the end if all three knights are still alive, but I'm not sure how I can keep that one from dying! It looks like a great item, but is it worth it? I'm tempted to reset in any event, but still.
  12. Geneaology Pairing Guide

Hello all. I've seen several different pairing guides for FE4, but never one that held all the information I believed was relevant at once. To that end, I've made my own personal pairing guide and would like to share it with you all. Enjoy. Please let me know if there's something anyone feels could be improved. Also, I use the official NOA names. Genealogy of the Holy War.docx
  13. Since there are three Fire Emblem games got remakes that are Shadow Dragon, New Mystery of the Emblem, and the upcoming Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. I think the next one that we might get a remake next is Genealogy of the Holy War and the next one after Genealogy of the Holy will be Thracia 776 since it's a mid equal to Genealogy of the Holy War, but since there is going to be a new upcoming Switch title that is going to be brand new story, do you guys think that Intelligence System will might make a Genealogy of the Holy War remake sometime after the upcoming Fire Emblem Switch title that gets released in 2018 or do you guys think it will might going to be later than that?
  14. I'm just curious (and expecting to see a lot of FE4 votes...), the NES/SNES games were cool and interesting and had their own old-school charm that makes (most of them) them so easy to go back to (except FE1, that broken, broken mess). EDIT: I accidentally hit enter... Is there any way to edit polls? Help? ...this is embarrasing
  15. If FE4 gets a remake...

So with Echoes: Shadows of Valentia likely being the start of a remake side series, that'd make Genealogy of the Holy War next in line for a remake. While I don't want to talk about the story per se, rather, I would like to talk about the customization of the second generation. If you're unfamiliar, FE4 was the first FE to feature the pairing/child mechanic. Unlike Awakening and Fates, the children weren't optional and had a story all to themselves in the second half of the game. Because of this, players were given the freedom to basically customize nearly a whole party class with different types of holy blood, or even not pair a potential mother, which will result in substitute characters (so a completely new set of characters). What I had in mind was to take some inspiration from the later games. While child characters had a signature look to them, their hair color was always dictated by whoever their permanent parent married. I think it would be interesting if this was implemented in FE4. While this may seem like a very minor and trivial thing to discuss, I think this minor change of hair color depending on their father can maybe increase the players' interest in their generation 2 characters. So not only do they inherit their mother's looks, they can inherit one of their father's as well. So everytime you play Genealogy and if you make different pairings each time, it would feel like you're playing with a new cast because nearly all of your characters' looks will be somewhat altered. For example, let's say you paired Aira with Holyn in your first playthrough. Larcei and Ulster will have blonde hair. But on your next run, you pair her with Lex, resulting in the children having dark blue hair. Although it's a small change, I think a more visual indicator could be significant enough to make an impact on the player that their pairings really affect the second generation cast. The only characters, aside from the permanent G2 characters (Celice/Oifay/etc.), I can see being an exception to this are Arthur and Tine... for reasons... But they could have highlights or ribbon or something to sort of be that visual indicator. Maybe if IS had the resources to do so, maybe their armor color palette can also vary as well, to match more closely. But I think I'd rather stick with a cool redesign. So, thoughts? Yay or nay?
  16. Started working on a personal pairing guide to accommodate for growths, inheritance and story talks for every combination possible in Genealogy of the Holy War. It has now become so complex that I'd like to share it for general usage. It is still very much a work in progress, so I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say about how it could be streamlined and improved upon if you have the time. Link here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9H3x-jIxRxpLVJWR3ZzY3JiVlU/view?usp=sharing Spreadsheet is split up into Holy Blood bonuses, skills, weapons, special talks/items/stat boosts, royal lineage and overall potential. In particular I'm looking for a way to incorporate weapon rank changes between fathers and combined child growth rates (w/o Holy Blood), while still making the spreadsheet user friendly. Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing what you think!
  17. Mangs Fe4 PME LP

Guys if you like Fe4 and want to watch an LP of it with a twist make sure to watch this.
  18. I was playing Civ 5 today and I was shocked to see there were no completed Fire Emblem mods for the game. Since I just completed(and loves) Genealogy of the Holy War, I was thinking of starting a little mod based on the Grannvale Empire. I'm totally new to Civ 5 modding but I got far enough to change the opening screen, the name of the civ and its cities, and I changed the unique units. Grannvale Empire Leader: Seliph The leader icon still shows Bismarck and it still has the Iron Cross icon. Still trying to figure out how to change that Trait: Together We Ride (renamed version of Germany's ability to recruit barbarians) Unique Units: Winged Hussar(trying to rename it to Lanzenritter) and Mongol Keshik(also to be renamed into Beigenritter) Of the 50 or so cities you can make, the first 46(I believe) are named after all of the cities present in FE4, not just the seven in Grannvale. These are the basics I have, if anyone knows how to mod Civ, please help out because there really needs to be a Fire Emblem mod. Edit: Here's the link to the Steam Workshop page: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=808580802&searchtext=
  19. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fovxo6nzfv58rmm/Fire%20Emblem%204%20Divine%20Crusade%20V%200.2.ips?dl=0 Hi, this is my first project, so I'm not acknowledgeable about some things (like how to place this into a patch format, or where should I post the edited ROM after I'm finished with it), so I hope you can help me by keeping me informed of things I should be aware off. Anyway, moving along, I'm naming this project, the Divine Crusade balance project. It could be changed in the future, but I like the sound of it, so most likely it will stay like this. The goal of this project, is to rebalance FE4 so that playable characters that were too powerfull or too weak are balanced by nerfing/buffing them respectively. I'm also changing enemies so they fit with those changes. Right now, I have already done some changes to the game via the FE4 editor and the Nightmare modules tools. However I have no idea how I'm supposed to post the file here, since I have no idea if it should be in patch format or if it can be posted as a file instead. I also have no idea on how to convert the changes I've made into a patch, so I hope you could help me with that. Turns out it might have been simpler than I tought. Anyway, I've tried to create a patch and used a unheadered file when asked for the unmodified file. It's compatible with translations (as long as they are separate and named the same name as the SFC file) So if you want a translation of the game, you will have to do like I did and put it in the folder of the game as a separate file rather than patch over the already patched game. Anyway, this is my first version of the change. So I guess I will call it Divine Crusader 0.01. Guess I didn't need that 3 days of time after all to do this. I call this the Divine Crusade v.0.2. It really is just me testing the waters with the edit and nightmare tools. So don't expect it to be anything great, most likely it will have some mistakes that I have forgot to correct, but for now give it a try or don't and wait for me to do some extra touches in the future. It works with the unheadered version. Translations are also compatible, the translations patches should be named the same as the game file so that both patches work together. I will go on ahead and state some of the changes: -Holy blood growths were nerfed. Major Blood accumulated growths are 70%, while minor blood is 35%. Holy Blood used to be 100% and 50% respectively. - Changed Sigurd's,Azel's, Claud's,Tyltiu's and other people's starting classes. Sigurd is a Lord (not Knight Lord), Azel is a Dark Mage, Tiltyu is a Mage and Claud is a Bishop. Azel's and Tyltiu's promotions remain unchanged. - Changed character's natural growths. If there are any questions, please go ahead and post in this topic.
  20. Just to be doubly sure, SPOILERS herein for those who haven't beaten it, because so far this is an awesome game for me, and you don't want it ruined for you. Anyway, while randomly browsing around, Sigurd's death happened to be spoiled for me a while back; and just now WHO killed him was spoiled as well for me(I have super rotten luck with plot twists). I still intend to play through the game, but I was wondering if any of you people who have already beaten Genealogy would say there are still some twists on par with Sigurd's end, or if Sigurd's death is the biggest twist in the game. TL;DR: Any plot events in Genealogy that are on par with or more shocking than Sigurd's death? (Obviously just a subtle hint or yes or no answer; not actually mentioning the event itself)
  21. In FE4, every character had a child unit associated with them, regardless of gender. In 13, only women decide children, and in 14, men. Why? Why make less child units? And I know it's not cartridge space, cause an SNES fit it all in and was fine!

Updates: I believe the information shared in this thread should be all the known information we have up to the current date. Please post in this thread to share new information as it comes! I will keep this post updated with news and images at it arrives. I'm also open to suggestions for things that should be added to (or removed from) the OP, formatting changes, etc. Discussion & Speculation: I know this thread is a bit early, but I thought it would be nice to have a place to start collecting the various bits of artwork that we've seen so far. What colour do you think we'll get for Judgral? (Obviously I'm guessing gold. :P) Which Genealogy characters are you most looking forward to seeing? What do you hope to see with the additional cards printed for Revelations? What do you expect to see with the Genealogy ST deck? Who do you think will get SRs and/or signed cards? Feel free to also use this thread to discuss and speculate what you think we'll see (or what you would like to see) in the new series.
  23. Here's my plan for my first playthrough of this masterpiece - at least so far (currently at Chapter 3) : Fury x Noish Lewin x Tiltyu Ayra x Holyn Aideen x Midir (already sealed) Lachesis x Beowulf Sylvia x Claude Briggid x Dew OR Jamka (not decided yet) What are your thoughts? Also, I'm kinda worried about pairing Fury with a physical unit, because while Fee will surely turn out great, I'm worried that Sety will be sh*t because of that. Is it alright? Thanks in advance!
  24. Help - Fin Lover in Gen 2

I wanted to try out some new pairings for my new playthrough and decided to do FinxLachesis. However I didn't manage to pair them in time and used cheats to pair them up instead. Everything was fine in Gen1. And now I'm in chapter 7 and Fin is suddenly in love with Lana? Does this in any way affect Delmud or Nanna and their stats? Or her talk with Fin? Any help would be appreciated ^^
  25. If anyone could make a Sacred Stones revision of Seliph from FE4, that'd be awesome! Seliph/Celice btw vvv and by revision I mean his portrait (ghasty edit, don't double post please, just edit this one) Sweeeeeeet!
