  1. First of all, I'm sorry if this isn't the best place to post this. I'm new to the forums, (I've lurked for a long time but never posted anything) so if I should put this somewhere else just let me know and I'll move it. Thanks. So I decided I wanted to try modifying FE4 in nightmare, and there are several things I want to do. However, I'm not sure how to do them, or even if I can at all. I'm going to try and think of as many questions as possible so that I don't have to update every time something new occurs to me. First of all, I want to make all of the Holy Weapons, with the exception of Gungnir and Loptyr, usable by the player. However, I want to do it in a somewhat realistic way. As in, I don't want a character to just randomly have the Helswath or Valflame in their inventory right off the bat for no reason. That's where the tricky part comes in. Messing with Holy Blood and inheritance is easy, but the game doesn't even give you the Holy Weapons that no one in your party should be able to use, for obvious reasons. So, this question has 3 parts. First, can I make it so that the minibosses will drop their holy weapons? For example, Langbalt with the Helswath in chapter 5? I went into his character data and tried to make it his dropable item, but it doesn't seem to be an option. If I'm able to do this, can I make it sellable, just in case the wrong character kills him? And if I'm not able to do these things, is it possible to put it in the proper character's inventory after the boss is dead? If someone could direct me to a way to do any of these things, I'd be very grateful. And that's all I can think of for right now. If I run across any other issues, I'll update. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I should probably mention that if I have to use a program other than Nightmare, I'm willing to do that. Keep that in mind.
  2. I'm a big fan of weapon designs in Fire Emblem games, and generally I like to see a bit of practicality in the design of them. Sometimes it's better to do over the top weapon designs (Siegfried, Omega Yato, Fujin Yumi) just because the story is not that serious in the FE games, and it just appeals the gameplay aspect better to the players, most of whom don't care about practicality of the cool and shiny holy weapons. In games like Genealogy and Thracia though, where the story is a bit more serious than other FE games (not just in terms of the plot, but in the themes present), I figured it might be nice if IS were to ever do weapon redesigns for potentially an Echoes of both games. Most of you probably don't care about practicality that much, but I don't think you have to be super conservative with weapon redesigns, sometimes just adding a little bit of simplicity can make a sword actually more appealing than the over the top design. For example, if we look at the original Tyrfing We can see it has some cliches of a typical fantasy sword design. Over the top obsession with an evil/holy crossguard with a gigantic gem in the middle, weird blade curve, and strange grip overall. If we look at the Awakening redesign of the Tyrfing they pretty much sacrificed the theme of the sword for an over-the-top clean, but highly impractical design. The only thing I can say I like about this design over the original one is that it has very small and interesting details in the crossguard, and the crossguard actually ends up looking cool, and the red crystal inside looks less like an eye, and more like an actually fancy jewel, which is helpful in distinguishing the theme of this sword from that of Mystletainn's. At the end I think if they kept the crossguard of the Awakening Tyrfing, and took the pommel and grip design of the original Tyrfing, and replaced the blade with a more practical one such as that of a silver sword, then they have themselves a really great redesigned Tyrfing. It's simple, distinct, sill has that divine ring to it, and ends up looking more powerful than the original one itself because of how much more practical it looks, while still remaining the big sword it is. If you guys prefer to keep them exactly as they were just for the sake of respect of the original designs I'd understand that as well though.
  3. I'm hacking fe4 using nightmare and I'm trying to make Eldigan/Eltshan drop his Mystletainn when defeated. The problem is if someone other than Raquesis/Lachesis (who I gave major Hezul holy blood) kills Eldigan/Eltshan, I can't sell the Mystletainn and it is stuck in their inventory. Is there any way I can make holy weapons sellable? I know its possible seeing Mangs' FE4 PM. I would really appreciate it if someone told me how to do it. Thanks in advance.
  4. The design of the Swanchika is identical to the French Francisque double stylisée, a mythical axe used in 1940s Vichy Regime's coat of arms. Double stylisée means that a second cutting edge has been added. It is a symbol of power and punishment, as a reference to the lictores from the Roman Empire, who used to execute the sentences of the court, like death penalty and torture. The francisque was a typical weapon from the Francs, the people who founded our glorious nation, and only elite soldiers were able to wield it. There is a very famous short story in the French folklore involving Charlemagne using a francisque, called Le vase de Soissons. Check it out here: https://en.wikipedia...ase_of_Soissons The tomahawk is a weapon directly inspired from this axe, and the fasces or faisceau in french is still used in our Republic's coat of arms, the double stylisée being replaced in order to avoid the sad memories of the Vichy Regime, who collaborated with the Nazi under Maréchal Pétain's rule. This is not the first Weapon related to early Franch history, two other weapons, Durendal and Hauteclaire are from the Chanson de Roland
