  1. After looking on the script, one thing that confused that about SoV story was the relationship between Rudolf and Berkut. At first I though that Rudolf cared for his nephew, however the more looked at things I noticed that Rudolf doesn't say anything positive about him. While it is true that Berkut repeatably lost to Alm's forces. He doesn't tolerate his multiple failures well. Rudolf seems to have more faith in the destiny Alm will have. It's it just the Rigelian way of teaching or Rudolf cared little for Berkut?
  2. Seeing as a fire emblem three houses has gotten some new info, I'm wondering how excited everyone is currently for the game, since I know fe fans as a whole were very cautiously optimistic before. Has it changed since then, or is it the same? What's on your mind about the game? Personally, I'm really looking forward to the FE expo next week, as we could potentially get a brand new trailer then! Any thoughts? =)
  3. Part of me is interested in this forum's pre-release thoughts up to this point on "Fire Emblem: Three Houses" . As it has been a while since the game's initial reveal at E3 2018, and everyone generally has time to fully formulate their thoughts, I went ahead and made a poll with a few questions. If people are okay with it, I am fine with making a pre-release poll once every few weeks/ a month up to the game's currently listed Spring 2019 release. Bear in mind this poll has a limited time-frame to answer. Use this thread to discuss your opinions further in depth. Please try not to derail it.
  4. Fighter Promotions

Which Fighter promotions do you prefer? Not much else to say.
  5. Secondary Weapon Triangle Poll

Which of the secondary Weapon Triangles would you like to see more of in future titles?
  6. I am curious about how high people have seen their appearance rate increase (and I would like some solace for the salt I'm feeling after reaching a Appearance Rate with a <1% chance of occurring). Feel free to share the stories that spawned from this appearance rate, and I want to hear if anyone has reached the point the game claims it will increase the 5 star rate to 100% and how that actually works (is it just the next hero? the whole session, is it 50%/50% for banner/normal or some other rate like 9%/91%, or 100%/0 etc.)
  7. So with the game now approximately a month away and the final Direct showcasing everything that will be in the game, I thought I'd set up a poll asking the big question; of everything new and old in this game, what is the feature you're MOST excited for overall? Edit: I had to change the poll real quick, because it excluded one of my options. There is already one vote on the thread, which may have been affected.
  8. Hi! I am not sure if this is just me, but I seriously find that upgrading and interacting with the home instance in Fire Emblem: Fates - Birthright feels like a chore. I recall that even in my very first playthrough, towards the end, I stopped bothering to upgrade and harvest resources, let alone eventually interact with anything in the instance. Don't get me wrong, I adore the support conversations in all Fire Emblem games which feature it, as well as other niches, such as off-plot instances, but in Birthright, it really seems too tedious to click on each building and take your time to make decisions on what to do next. I think that the main reason why I fail to have the motivation to interact with the instance is simply that it is not necessary on Normal/Hard difficulty playthroughs. Let me know your thoughts. This is just my opinion, I am sure that others adore the progression and watching it grow maybe? Please note that the poll is only including Birthright on Hard or lower difficulties (therefore excluding Lunatic). Furthermore, necessities such as the shops and your house for relationship growth, I do use! These aren't part of the poll in my opinion. Have a nice day :)
  9. As someone who almost tried making his own fire emblem game out of my own sheer disappointment with fates (before echoes was announced), I care a lot about what will happen in Three Houses. I don't think any type of fan is superior and if you like fates or awakening that's completely fine, but I DO want to know what you all value in games (so I can make my own game better), and I DO feel quite disappointed still with those two games. I'm worried about the future of the fire emblem series and what it will focus on in later games, especially since apparently Fire emblem echoes didn't sell very well (admittedly it's vgchartz but there's no other info I'm aware of http://www.vgchartz.com/game/154085/fire-emblem-echoes-shadows-of-valentia/), the game without an avatar and marriage mechanics...while the games that did have them sold like hotcakes. Sure it was released once the switch practically stole the 3ds' momentum away while the others were before that, but IS might not see it that way. Because of this, I want to truly understand gamers as a whole, and what they actually value in fire emblem and games generally. And also because I could then use this information to help me prioritise my own game in general. If gamers don't care about story very much, and really only care about gameplay only, then I'll know what to do with my own game going forward. https://www.deviantart.com/dinar87/art/Starting-production-of-Sector-2-770028017 here it is also I really hope Three Houses will be a nice middle ground between fates/awakening and echoes/path of radiance.
  10. Personally, I think the weapon triangle can be a distraction over other tactical considerations, like positioning and terrain, and after playing SoV I think it's definitely possible to do without the weapon triangle completely. The main problem with getting rid of it, however, is that it can make the game more difficult for new players. It's easy to get a hang of the weapon triangle whereas other tactics require a stronger intuition. What do you all hope to see? Do you want to keep the unified triangle from Fates? or a return to a more traditional triangle where magic and bows are neutral?
  11. Where this poll is from?

On surfing the internet today I have discovered this villain poll post PoR. I'm surprised to see Ursula at the top but I still wonder about the rest of the contents on the page. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. You know the drill. Let's end this.
  13. This is mainly for data that I'm collecting for a written work I am constructing, but it's also interesting to hear what people think of antagonists that go under the radar and what effect they can have on the plot. Of course there are more than these 4 but I only wanted to focus on these for now. (Good/Decent is together because minor antagonists almost never get enough progression and depth to be anything over decent, but that's all subjective). My thoughts are..... Fernand: Extremely underappreciated, the man had his entire family killed because a peasant insurrection accused him of hording food from them during the drought. He is a product of the conflicted state of the world, and you can honestly say he is yet another victim whos blood is on Rudolph's hands. (Also DLC characterizes him more, a shame it's locked behind DLC though.) Desaix: Comes off as your common power hungry cartoony evil guy, but the more you look into him the more cunning and intelligent he becomes (never mind his ability to somehow know who Alm really is which never gets explained). Behind his Evil appearance is a man who is tired of relying on gods and wants man to be strong based off there own merits. This can be found in exposition with people in the castle/deliverance hideout and with the memory prism starring him and slayde (definitely some missed potential with him). Grieth: Through exposition we learn how big of an impact Grieth has had on Zofia and even as far as Archanea, sad part is it's just greed and nothing more. What a shame.... Slayde: Right at the end he makes an interesting comment about his philosophy about survival and then proceeds to get roasted by clive, they were on to something with him at the end there but definitely missed potential yet again.
  14. From what I've seen on the forums Alm's character had negative reception on his character for the most part. This includes criticism on his ability to conquer his problems with little to no experience (insert mary sue accusation), his ideal being the perfect and flawless one in a game where both paths were supposed to be of equal importance, and that is personality is just downright boring. With this being said i'm not 100% sure what the majority thinks of Alm so the poll above is for me to gather some more data on the subject before i start pointing fingers. Also this Post does contain major spoilers to the plot of SOV so keep that in mind. As for me personally I very much like Alm and found him very refreshing as a Lord given my negative reception on the last 2, and before the thought plagues you i have played all the previous US released fire emblem games and I know that Alm isn't the best writing wise. So in this post I will be defending him (my first idea for the title was "In defense of Alm" but I didn't want anyone to think that they were wrong for not liking him and that these are just my thoughts). Most of his criticisms I heavily disagree with and I'm going to start with the idea that his whole path is perfect and that Celica was wrong and Alm was right. My main problem with this is that saying Alm ideal is flawless is saying that personally putting your father and your cousin to the sword is not a detriment to his ideal at all. This war not only brought many consequences to the land and citizens, but had many personal consequences on Alm himself as the path he took is the sole reason he had to kill his remaining family (This personally makes me wonder what Berkut's parents are up too and how they would interact with Alm after the conflict of the game ends), When Alm learns the truth of his lineage and who the emperor was who he had just killed he shows a color very similar to Eliwood where he breaks down showing weakness but then is able to pull himself together to do what is needed, putting those feeling away and fulfilling his oath to Mycen he made all the way back in Zofia castle ( If you don't remember Mycen asked Alm if he was ready and that there would be no turning back no matter how painful it would become, to which Alm replied that he was ready, and stayed true to that all this time). This shows strength on his mental fortitude while the tragedy makes him more human, having these together may be cliche, but it is an effective way to make a character relatable and a strong leader/individual. Eliwood for example pulls this off well and it makes an excellent difference between him and Hector, as Hector is the strong one who was not only devastated his fathers death, but that devastation affected for a much longer time, you have to remember that he even for a while cut all ties with Oswin. And while Eliwood was physically weaker his mental fortitude was superior to Hectors. While it's no surprise that Eliwood with that difference pull it off better than Alm does making him in my opinion a great character and one of the best lords, it salvages Alm a ton as well in my opinion especially because of the emphasis Mycen put on him early about tragedies that will happen giving moments the player get to see that will help him move forward. On him being a Mary Sue I have to say that to stay true to the original Alm had to become the leader of the deliverance at that time, but there is one key factor that I feel like a lot of people miss because I find myself very confused that people criticize this part so hard. Clive wants Alm to be leader to raise the soldiers morale because his "lineage" is a spectacle to the men. Clive even says that he will handle all the day to day affairs and that Alm is required to do one thing and one thing only; Lead. This means he just has to point and say charge, and deliver the occasional speech. This part is extremely similar to when Michiah is made leader of the Daein Rebellion army in part 1 of RD and Sothe catches on and isn't a fan of the idea because she is being made a spectacle. What Pelleas and Izuka had planned is almost identical to why Clive made that decision as well, and I baffled that Alm becoming leader of the deliverance is criticized and that the same scene in RD gets not even a bat of the eye. I for one think Clive's plan is very reasonable. Also Celica's plan wasn't a complete flop, Celica's decision and sacrifice is what convinces the earth mother Mila to unseal falchion and let Alm use it, she was planning on holding it forever to protect her brother until Celica showed her that Humans were strong enough to not rely on her and Duma. So Celica is the only reason Alm was able to get the Falchion to destroy Duma. Both were very essential to the conclusion of the game. Criticize the writing all you want as the final act in many parts was a mess, but Neither was right or wrong completely, and neither flawless. I could talk about this stuff for hours and write pages on why I think Alm is not a bad character but I'm starting with this and I would not want the first post to be this long. So tell me your expressions of Alm, and if you disagree with my points please let me know as this topic is a very subjective one.
  15. Lots of characters are in the game, but a lot more out there who are not added to the heroes pool yet. From which game would you like to see new heroes in the future? OK, personally I feel like we have plenty of characters from Awakening and Fates. I'd be more interested to see more characters from Binding Blade / Blazing Sword or Genealogy of the Holy War / Thracia 776 games. I played most on the GBA titles, and there's so many characters that could be a nice addition from it, there are a couple of fan favorites from them that hasn't been added(I believe Marcus, Rutger, Idunn, Pent, Oswin, Miledy, Sain). Whenever I look at the Catalog of Heroes, I feel like we don't have many heroes from these games. Since I started to like Genealogy of the Holy War due to it's storyline, I also wouldn't getting more heroes from there. Lewyn, Larcei, Lex, Quan could be popular picks, and this game is loaded with characters that are not in Heroes yet.
  16. Poll : Fire Emblem's features

    Just choose what you like....
  17. Massive Spies attacking your Castle!

While in the middle of battle, when the start of player's turn, a witch-class generik messenger teleported to the Lord and reported that "My Castle" has been surrounded by massive numbers of enemies. The castle's defenders has been very outnumbered as the report. The Lord and the allied force are unable to retreat from the crucial battle, so the Lord forced to gave orders to the messenger. You are the Lord! Choose wisely! note: Special poll for everyone who seek extra difficulties on Fire Emblem installments. If not strong enough for this poll, then no need to push yourselves!
  18. Favorite Dancer (refresher unit)

The dancer class is iconic of the Fire Emblem series and I was wondering that, even though they're numerous units with the ability to refresh a unit, if anyone had a favorite(s) that they wanted to share and converse about. Guidelines: Give some sort of explanation as to your pick, it doesn't have to be long. Reasons can range from gameplay performance, aesthetic, availability or just overall appearance and personality. Be respectful
  19. Assignment to the Lord.

You are the avatar. Support your Lord!
  20. Which story structure do you predict that Fire Emblem: Three Houses will follow? The poll is strictly about expectations, not desires, but feel free to discuss desired stories below.
  21. We believed those characters confirmed are : A -----> the unconfirmed true LORD Byleth - sensei, perhaps the avatar Claude - major character Dimitri - major character Edelgard - major character ************************************ Now, what will you hope about A? ************************************
  22. The next poll from it. The tactician avatar's Lv.1 based stats are HP 16, other stats 4, all stats based growth 20%, movement 5. Let your avatar becomes a remarkable unit! (The tactician class and the promoted one is able to wield Magical Weapons, Long Bow, Physic Staff, and Tomes with range 3-10 if the respective wielding-proficiency requirements has been fulfilled.) Have fun....
  23. Introduction: Several years after the end of the nohro-hoshidan inconclusive war, the new threat arise from the southern area of the continent (similar to FE8's intros). The evil forces comes in massive numbers and slains anyone in their path. Those who fallen would be reanimated and would be added as their new members with their own weapons, classes, levels, and stats same as before they died. The threat spreading so fast like a plague and made the counties agreed to fights under one flag. The Valla Kingdom, which the curse-of-valla has been lifted off, elected to be the head of united countries. The Dark King Corrin/Kamui charged as the supreme commander of the allied forces and would be served as the uncustomizable Lord unit. Even the atmosphere of hates and grudges each other is still very pronounced, the allied force still need more new freshmen from any backgrounds to join the military services for the massive skirmishes. Valla Kingdom also in charge for recruitments in order to supressing any bad situations that may comes later on, so, No "Nohrian/Hoshidan scum" words! ____________________________________________ "You" come to Valla Kingdom for joining the military in the world of Fire Emblem (similar to Kris), but you will come free and fun with the classes those you like -except Dark Prince/Princess (Nohrian or Hoshidan Prince/Princess), Wolfskin, Kitsune, and Songstress-, including your Boon / Bane, and it may be describes yourselves. All classes were based on FE14. (Note: Since you don't have any personal Skill, you may have 1 extra slot for any equippable Skill, but that's a different story.) You tell your "background story", your Boon, your Bane, your main class, your secondary class, your 'other' class, and your true promoted class (must based on main class or secondary class) with the reason here! Example : I'm so bored with my neighborhood so I come to Valla and join the military. Boon : HP and Luck Bane : Mag and Res Main class : Armor Knight Secondary class : Villager Other class : Dread Fighter True promoted class : Great Knight, because I usually defending first and payback later with my multiple weapons. ____________________________________________ Have fun and best regards.
  24. Best Ruler

There are a lot of Rulers, People who become Rulers and People, who could be Rulers if the right People die in the Game. Who's your Ruler of Choice?
