MrSmokestack posted a topic in Fire Emblem HeroesHello everyone! With the new skill inheritance system having just come out, lots of people are looking for help with getting new skills onto their units, so I decided to make this thread to help out with that. Certain units can obtain the Lv. 3 version of a skill as a 4* unit, which can save quite a lot of feathers. This list shows all the skills that can be inherited from 4*'s and briefly explains some of the limitations of the inheritance system. Crtl + F is your friend. Hope this helps! 5* Exclusive Skills- So far, the following skills can only be inherited from a 5* unit: Inheriting Weapon Skills Inheriting Passive Skills Inheriting Special Skills Inheriting Assist Skills Inheritance Limitations There are three major types of limitations that prevent units from inheriting certain skills: -Unit-Type Limitations Armor-Exclusive Skills Cavalry-Exclusive Skills Flier-Exclusive Skills Infantry-Exclusive Skills -Range Limitations The following skill cannot be inherited by 1-range units: Close Counter The following skills cannot be inherited by 2-range units: Aegis Drag Back Distant Counter Escutcheon Galeforce Knock Back Hit and Run Lunge Pavise Sacred Cowl Shield Pulse -Weapon-Type Limitations Units cannot inherit weapons outside of their weapon type (i.e. No Green Axes on Red Swords). Units cannot inherit skills that benefit them versus another weapon type which they are at a weapon triangle disadvantage (i.e. Nino cannot inherit Swordbreaker or R Tomebreaker). Axe Experience is exclusive to Axe units. Axe Valor is exclusive to Axe units. Bowbreaker cannot be inherited by Flying units. Bow Experience is exclusive to Bow units. B Tome Experience is exclusive to Blue Tome units. B Tome Valor is exclusive to Blue Tome units. Cancel Affinity cannot be inherited by Tome and Staff units. Fortify Dragons is exclusive to Breath units. Galeforce cannot be inherited by Breath units. G Tome Valor is exclusive to Green Tome units. Lance Valor is exclusive to Lance units. R Tome Valor is exclusive to Red Tome units. Sword Valor is exclusive to Sword units. Sword Experience is exclusive to Sword units. Triangle Adept cannot be inherited by Colorless units. The following skills cannot be inherited by Staff units: Offensive Special Skills Damage-Reduction Special Skills All "Rally" Assist Skills Pivot Swap Reposition Draw Back Shove Smite Harsh Command Reciprocal Aid Ardent Sacrifice All "Blow" A Passive Skills All "Seal" B Passive Skills All "Dance" B Passive Skills Fury Life and Death Cancel Affinity Poison Strike Swift Sparrow Watersweep Windsweep Staff-Exclusive Skills Certain skills, mostly legendary weapons, cannot be inherited at all. They include: Some precautions before inheriting Inheriting skills from merged heroes is now possible due to a recent update. Merged allies will inherit all of the skills of the source unit, as well as their learned status, so SP is not required for the newly-merged unit to relearn them. Triangle Adept and Gem Weapons do not stack, so don't give a unit with either of those skills the other one! Pay attention to skill types. It can be easy to forget that Heroes can't equip two skills bearing the same letter, so try to optimise inheritance to avoid wasting characters and skill slots for Heroes that can't use them! For example, Nowi inherits Spur Attack from Lilina, but now she cannot use it in conjunction with Threaten Res, since they are both C-type skills. Courtesy @InfinityAlex Skills that would normally be learned by 5* units can be inherited and learned by units of any * rating, given they have also inherited any prerequisite skills. For example, Brave Sword+ can be inherited by Hana as a 4*, who can learn the skill and equip it with enough SP without having to increase her rating. Courtesy @Mad_Scientist A unit that wants to be passed the Lv. 3 version of a skill must inherit all levels of that skill. Since most passive skills have three levels, generally speaking this will use up your entire inheritance limit, which is 3. A unit can inherit different levels of a skill from different units. Some skills affect the speed order in combat, such as Wary Fighter, a -breaker skill, and Quick Riposte. If both units in a round of combat have any combination of these skills--except both units having Quick Riposte or Wary Fighter--then the skills will negate each other. If this occurs, the normal speed formula will apply, instead. Courtesy @Ice Dragon and @Korath88 The "Dance" B passive skills can be inherited by any unit except staff users, but will only take effect when that unit uses the Sing or Dance assist skills. They will do nothing if either of those skills are not on the unit that inherited it. NINO CAN'T BREAK SWORDS And that's everything! Hope this helped.
