  1. Now i've played Gaiden, it was kind of a slog with really cool ideas, and I'm glad to see SoV delivered, granting us cool stuff with a good UI, along with very solid voice acting and performances all around, not to mention tons of lovable characters. The pretty bad maps aside, when playing this (i'm still in Act 4, not quite done yet). I felt like I was more playing an RPG with Fire Emblem elements, and you know what? I like this feel, I like how the dungeons work, and I just really like mostly everything about this game. I also quite like how I can use the entire cast in a single playthrough without being penalized too heavily. I wouldn't mind if we got a sub series of FE that played like this game in particular, like a side RPG focused series, while still retaining FE elements, it plays more to the RPG aspect, like SoV does. (With better map design obviously). But maybe thats asking too much, heres hoping we get more cool remakes.
  2. So, what are your favorites and the not so favorites? Mine so far: Favorites: Celica. Shes very lovely to look at, but also a deeply sweet person. Shes stubborn and ruled by her heart, but people point this out. Shes great when she puts her Big Girl Pants on at the end of Act 3. Leon: Should not surprise anyone that i love the purple haired gay guy. Hes done so well, that hes not a stereotype. I love that Nintendo put this guy in. He knows his love is unrequited, and is prepared to deal with it. Mah pewr dude. Plus hes a great unit. Mathilda: Oh shes fantastic. She looks good, is a solid character both on and off the battlefield, and her relationship with Clive is cute. Clair: her support with Gray won me over, that B...yass slay! But shes great. Noble, but not super classist. Shes a lot like Maribelle actually. Mae: Shes so cute. Energetic without being bratty and annoying. Totally hiding that shes got feelings for Boey. I love her supports with Celica and gives her pep talks all the time. Not-So-Favorites: tbh i only really have the one. Gray annoyed me at first but hes got layers and is a cool dude once you get to know him. You know isnt cool when you get to know them? Faye: Shes kind of an asshole. Her entire character revolves around Alm. Theres literally nothing else to her. In a sea of characters with great characterization and depth, she sticks out really sorely. Unlike other characters that are similar (guys like Camilla or Tharja), Faye looks sweet and innocuous. Her design is nice and charming, shes not overbearing in speech either. But shes an asshole. Unlike other really assholish characters like Severa, Faye is not tsundere. But still an asshole. While her A support with Silque is kinda ok, the ones leading up to that really paint a highly unpleasant picture of Faye. She seems to dislike other women, and only wants to be around Alm, and to hell with everyone else. Im sorry, no matter how you paint it, Faye isnt gonna be anything other than a massive jerk to me. I dont take kindly to interlized misogyny, period. (and saying Peri is worse isnt an argument because at least there was more to her than murder.)
  3. TL;DR: Save editing is indeed possible for Shadows of Valentia, but it's a little more complicated than that. So as we all know, SoV just recently was released in Japan, and was leaked even before the official JP release. Not much research has been done into saves, but theoretically, if it's anything like Fates, a save editor should be simple, right? Wrong. For some reason, IS decided to switch up the way saves were written, making them generally a headache to decipher. Here is what has been figured out about the saves so far: Items: Character Editing: To be added later Post any save editing discoveries you've made here as well!
  4. Since the game is coming tomorrow outside of Japan besides China, I think we should help @VincentASM (Avyen Knight) pointing it out for some of the Localization Names for updating for the site content related for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and he will keep tracking it down in-case if makes any mistakes and I am working on the Name Chart for both Gaiden and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (I think it's around 50% or close) + maybe pin this thread so that everyone look at the thread and help contributing it until where done getting every names down. I did managed to find some new localized names that were leaked and did covered most of them from the English trailers and footages that we already saw. But, in-case if anyone wants to help out, I think we have about these things that it needed to be added and gets fixed in the site content, I don't think I have all the items listed down in the Items List as of right now and can some one who knows Japanese full well to help out list all the Kanjis and Romanjis down in the name chart + maybe put je2's and Artemis's fan patch names as well since I think there's some Gaiden players might get confused with the names as well: Playable Characters (Cipher characters only) NPCs Enemies Locations Items Provisions Spells Classes Arts (Arts Combat Skills) Title and factions Acts And also, I just wondered about those what we should maybe move the 5 bosses from the Altar of Duma to the Enemies section since they were marked as classes, but managed to make them as actual enemy units instead. Also, someone did pointed the link out there's a bunch of Localized Names that appeared in the Fire EMblem Wiki to be in the Name Chart for Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, are some of them actually correct by the way? I don't know who got them, I think they might have got them from Linkmstr and @MrPerson0's videos or something else who data-mined the game?
  5. Is the second wave of DLC out for english yet? Or will it be later today?
  6. Since we do have Alm, Faye, Lukas, and Clair were added when they added at the same day as Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was released in Japan and China. I do think the developers of Fire Emblem Heroes will might possibly they'll might add Celica and some of her comrades at the same day as Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be released outside of Japan on May 19th. But, let's talk about what characters from Celica's team do you think they'll might be with Celica in the Banner and the new Paralogue chapter or the next 11th Main Story Chapter like Ike and Celica's weapon choice if they will either use Sword or Magic do you think we'll might see in the future batch? I possibly think she will might possibly get that Masked Knight similar to like how they added Faye and he's an additional character gotten added in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and I am not entirely too sure if what the other two characters from Celica's team going to be in Fire Emblem Heroes, I do like to see if they'll might add either Atlas, Mae, Boey, Deen, or Nomah. And for weapon choice for Celica, I possibly think Celica might use Magic (possibly Fire Magic since that was her default spell) since some of the main characters except Robin (both genders), Hector, Azura, Spring Chrom, Spring Lucina, and Female Corrin used Swords. And if they do added the Masked Knight that was with Celica since he is a Brand New character like Faye, I'm pretty sure he will most likely keep the mask on and keep his Backstory hidden from Kiran, Alfonse, Sharena, Anna, and the other Heroes. Incase if you do not know who is the Masked Knight that was with Celica this is how he looks like in one of the Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Japanese trailers and we didn't see him have his mask off nor have a backstory shown in any of the trailers and the official website for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia:
  7. Hey everyone, I've been doing a monthly Voice Actor series with different Fire Emblem Heroes' VO performers. This time I got Greg Chun because he was lucky enough to score the role of Ike in addition to Ephraim, Eldigan, and Lukas. I found out that he also did Lukas' voice for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, and that he found it intimidating to embody everybody's favorite mercenary. Greg has some great insights about breaking into voice acting, overusing your voice, and a little bit on the process behind winning some of his roles. He actually broke into VO through an Arnold Schwarzenegger impression! https://comedyngaming.com/news/interview-greg-chun-fire-emblems-new-ike Hope you enjoy it!
  8. Well, it's confirmed that the next hero batch we're getting is Celica and her crew from Shadows of Valentia. The super lucky draw for today's red heroes is Celica - https://twitter.com/FEHeroes_News/status/859271999427821568 Thoughts and theories on what her set up may be and who'll come with her?
  9. Seeing as no one has set up a thread for this yet that I know of, I thought I would. After all, it would be good to have a place where people from the PAL regions can unite and discuss their thoughts, feelings, hype and hopes for Shadows of Valentia. Who has preordered their copy and who is going to either pick their copy up from a shop or buy it day one? What do you all plan to do on release day? I have preordered mine already and I plan to use my evening on release day to play the game. I am really looking forward to it.
  10. Hi there everyone. My name is Mangs and I have recently started a new series called the Fire Emblem Echoes, Shadows of Valentia character previews. These are very similar to the spotlights I have done before, only that they are shorter, completely free of spoilers, and showcases some of the upcoming characters we will see in Gaidens remake, Shadows of Valentia. The purpose of these previews is to entertain both veterans who enjoyed gaiden, as well as showing newer players what kind of characters they can expect in the new release. I will showcase their new art next to the old one and make comparisons on how they’ve changed. Since growth rates and bases will arguably remain the same in the remake, I am also going over their Gaiden stats just to give the viewers an idea of how the unit will perform. I will update this thread as more previews are made, and add them to this list as well. I appreciate any feedback you might have to give me, and of course, if there’s any characters you’d like to see me make previews of next, let me know in this thread, or in the comment section of one of my videos! Alm Celica Mae Kamui Boey Silque Valbar Genny Saber Kliff
  11. This was just leaked that they are going to appear in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia in the new Paralogue chapter.
  12. I am creating a sand box page that focuses on today's (different time period in North America) April Fools content that was shown in the Japanese website of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. But, I might need some help with the translations from any translators that be willing to help out in this page for site that doesn't use Google Translation as a reliable translation and proof reading with the grammar with the description for Valbar, Leon, and Kamui and the rest of the info from the site. And probably going to show this to VincentASM (Avyen Knight) for the approval and ask where to put this at so that we can get the info and translations down. https://serenesforest.net/wiki/index.php/User:King_Marth_64/Sandbox/Fire_Emblem:_Battle_of_Revolution Incase if you haven't noticed or seen it yet from the April Fools content that was shown in the official Japanese website, this was founded here: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/ajjj/0401/index.html But, I am not exactly sure if we are going to get the same April Fools in the website in the North American, European, and other countries or this is going to be Japan exclusive April Fools?
  13. (Apologies if a thread like this already exists) So I don't know about you, but I'm pretty hyped about Shadows of Valentia. I wasn't expecting it at all; never really enjoyed Gaiden, but I respected it for its massive formula changes and shift into more of a traditional RPG. It seems like Echoes will be retaining a lot of these changes, and hopefully this time around the tech is good enough to really eliminate all the tedious and obviously dated parts of Gaiden. But part of me is kind of worried that this game will have some sort of "spin-off"-itis in that it won't be enough to really captivate me. It looks hectic, don't get me wrong. Awesome character designs so far, my sweet boy Alm, the combat looks fluid if the HUD looks a little strange to me at the moment, and the dungeon crawling looks genuinely interesting. However, I have some fears: namely, that it will lack the supports, character building and story elements to really get me hooked on it. Gaiden has a relatively small cast IIRC, so I'm wondering if they will be adding in more characters to bulk up the roster, making these few existing characters more fleshed out, or leaving the numbers the same but massively underexplored. Limited supports in particular, with genuinely interesting conversations which amount to well-established relationships is what I had wanted out of Awakening and Fates, so their absence (even if it understandable) would be sorely felt. What about the rest of you? What gets you excited? Never played Gaiden and want to experience the beginnings of the series? Like the look of the art? And what might disappoint you about it? Let me know!
  14. Hi guys, with Serenes' very detailed trailer analysis and my own thoughts from slowing down and peeking through the official Nintendo Direct trailer, I put together a video discussing Fire Emblem Echoes - Shadows of Valentia. To go even further in depth, I also delve a little into discussing Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon (the last remake we got here in the west) in order to prepare potential buyers and the "Waifu Emblem" crowd in case this game ends up being similarly remade like that one (and doesn't include the Avatar, Marriage, or Dating aspects). I'd love to know your thoughts and feedback, and hopefully this is a clear and concise way of summing up what we know from the trailer as well.
