Metal—and a lot of its subgenres (black, death, thrash, doom, and progressive in particular), jazz, and classical (I'm a huge fan of Wagner, Rimsky-Korzakov, and Schubert).

Audio formats: vinyl or CD/mp3?

Messed around with one years ago, in a progressive rock side project a college friend had. Never got really good in playing it though.

What's the most difficult piano piece that you've learned?

On the drums, it would have to be Night's Blood by Dissection, a now-defunct melodic black metal band from Sweden. It was one of the earliest songs wherein I had to learn to do blast beats, less than a week from my band covering it for a local competition. The time signatures made for some mindfuckery as well. Fun times.

At what age did you learn to read sheet music?

okay, now a question for anonymous: largest cliff/building you've been to?

I went to a lighthouse once. It wasn't that tall, but it was fairly tall.

Oh man, I was a little late in that aspect. I learned to read sheet music when I was 15.

Which music circle do you find to be snootier: jazz or classical? (i.e, the people who play it—which group of people seems to be more conceited in your opinion)

If horns can be used in metal (UK's Paradise Lost and Norway's Satyricon have employed it well on live performances), so can saxophones. Oh wait, there's actually a progressive metal artist based in Norway that employs the sax (IHSAHN).

How far are you from Santa Fe? And are you also crazy about green chile cheeseburgers?

it depends. Rice chili should have beans, but not noodle chili.

Neat, but I'm not really into heavy metal.

I am literally on the other side of the country and have never heard of such burgers before you asked me about them. They seem to be quite popular, though.

@AnonymousSpeed: I mistook NM as New Mexico. My bad.

@Gemma: In no particular order,

  • Adon, because he's an arrogant bastard, and his Rising Jaguar > Sagat's Tiger Knee/Joe Higashi's Tiger Kick.
  • Guy, because of his speed
  • Cody, because of that awesome design and mindgame-inducing moves
  • Karin, because I haven't seen a character whose moveset is based off counters done well since Geese Howard (come to think of it, they are the only two I'm aware of that employ such moves)

@AnonymousSpeed: I live and work in the Philippines currently, but when I was working in the US, I've been to NM on road trips and have tasted one of those cheeseburgers. They were THAT memorable.

Ever worn a double-breasted jacket?
