FE12 Lunatic Reverse Efficiency run in 181 turns (Myrm!MU)

Recommended Posts

@momogeek: I can, but I'm not gonna name any forges that way, unless Est uses it, because I don't care that much to hype her.

The crux this strat is Est, since she's the only one to allow for Marth to pass the second door on turn 2. Did similar adjustments to shave a turn as in my LTC run, but this time I didn't have the full 6-man royal airforce because MU misses, so Leiden with Starsphere subs for Berserker!Sirius (though he kills the Bishop instead) and Sirius goes DK. Exploited the droppables in the boss area to avoid some RP usage via Starsphere dropping. Another problem was that I only had one rescue use before this map, and I have to hammerne it. This prohibits me from using the Fortify staff on turn 1 since Malicia can't reach Linde on turn 2 for the Hammerne. Looking back though, I realize I could simply have hammerne'd the second rescue staff for the same effect, but I saved a Fortify anyway so it's worth it. Who guessed Leiden was right, go buy cookies for yourselves.

Chapter 15 is completed in 4/143 turns with 1 Rescue and 1 Again.

Sold: 30 Divinestone, 1 Master Seal, 1 Bullion (L) - 13500G

Bought: 1 Spirit Dust, 1 Dracoshield - 5000G

Drill Grounded Minerva for 1050G, procs were Str, Spd and Def.

Promoted Leiden.

Gave the C11 Wing to Minerva, an LSB Dust to Linde and an LSB Shield to Palla.

The Wing is necessary for Minerva to meet her C21 benchmark reliably since she can probably not get 7 levels without an added drill grounds expense that is larger than the wing's cost. The Dust for Linde is to consistently ORKO the Paladins with Nosetank. The Dracoshield immediately pays off for its price since Palla can go on treasure hunt. I should mention Marth has to meet a pretty high benchmark for the C21 clear and in fact, isn't close to it, but with a Shield, 3 to 4 levels which he can probably get, and RP + the Binding Shield he should be able to meet the benchmark. The arena helps too if there's the need for it. The RNG doesn't want Sirius to get his kills.

1 Rainbow Potion use (21 remaining), for Linde to ORKO enemies on the RHS.

Because he doesn't attack Est unless Abel is recruited. Canonically, he's supposed to take her as a hostage for Abel not to return to Marth's side.

The Swarm!Bishop too iirc. The other Generals not I think. Anyway, the Javelin!Knight above her prison attacks her if he gets the opportunity so I think it's only those 2 enemies.

Took the General!Jeorge idea from commonguard's H4 Mage run. Had to leave out on the Physic because I had one less slot for a unit that would kill the Physic!Bishop. Deployed Bishop!Caeda since I needed a second Thief staffer and EXP on Malicia is pretty much a waste. A Def-capped Swordmaster needs 47 HP to tank 3 Heroes if 2 of them have Axes. Palla has 48 HP so she can get the Silver Axe just fine. Made a critforged Javelin so Catria hits 20 Crt against the Geosphere!Thief after her highly likely Skl proc.

As I estimated, distracting the Snipers via low Lck worked out. Bought Marth a Dracoshield to remove the need for a PP1 crit from Sirius since Marth can chipdamage the Berserker without dying to the Sniper afterwards. Marth will need the Shield anyway. Most of the crit unnecessities are pretty much no-brainers, but I left annotations for the non-obvious ones so might aswell make them for all random crits. Maybe Marth could've finished the Sniper with Palla's Levin Sword instead of him just getting crit by Sirius. Linde would kill the leftover Swordmaster.

@momogeek: Never!

@eclipse: yeah, it probably was. Maybe there's a map where I needn't build Katarina's or Etzel's staff rank and can deploy Leiden as a rescuer. I doubt it though.

Modified the strat from my LTC run. It's a bit more tricky positioning-wise since I have to protect Tomas; this requires me to kill all the DKs at the starting positions instead of just choking them up. I also wanted to get the Nosferatu tome, and by sending Catria down there, I have one less deployment slot to help against the Dracoknights. Linde had to go Swordmaster since I otherwise wouldn't have the offense for the DK rout while still killing the Sniper + Warrior that Linde attacked. Would've preferred Sage to build the staff rank but I needed Swordmaster. Arguably I didn't have to use the Arms Scroll for 2500G to get the 1200G Nosferatu, but I need Devil!Catria for C19 and I also need mounted Mercurius!Sirius for C20 (or not and will use it for Marth to kill Medeus) so I have to buy one anyway and decided to just benefit from it here.

Also, this strat has lower benchmarks than the 4-turn. It still requires a Str- and Spd-capped Paladin (easy to get, Palla needs 11 procs in 19 levels with the RP for the Str benchmark) but doesn't require a unit capable of tanking 2 DKs to hold a choke and doesn't require a 27 Spd near-Str-capped Horseman. I have both (Sirius can facetank the DK reinforcements) but this clear is faster anyway.

Chapter 17 is completed in 3/150 turns with 2 Rescues and 1 Again.

C17 prep:

Spoiler

Didn't sell anything.

Bought an Arms Scroll for 2500G.

Drill Grounds usage:

Sirius (1080G) got HP, Str, Spd, Def.

Linde (1380G) got Mag, Skl, Spd, Def.

Funds: 10058G

Gave Catria the Arms Scroll on Swords. I figure I should've done it as a Swordmaster but not that it's likely to matter. I probably won't roll so low on Dragonpikes as to need Wyrmslayer!Paladin!Catria. Still keep in mind that it's like always the better idea to use the scroll in a class with higher base WEXP if the unit starts from 0 own WEXP.

3 Rainbow Potions (16 left):

Catria OHKOes the Thief with the Devil Sword, assuming he doesn't roll up in HP (realistic) or Def (unlikely).

Caeda doubles a DK despite her Spd screwage.

Palla doubles Warriors.

Yeah, it just was pretty odd. She got that random Spd non-proc on C6 and then I didn't bother rigging her pre-C13 General drill grounds level for Spd since it had Def and Str. With a proc on C6 and the drill grounds Spd proc she could've doubled the C16 boss, and doubled C17 DKs without RP lol. Not like it matters much or anything.

No comment. Just watch and enjoy.

I actually think I almost figured out C19 in 6 turns but I did a H2 steamroll run in the meantime. Probably gonna try with a +4 Poleax for Palla to have WTA against the Pallies and destroy Horsemen on EP. Disadvantage of that is Xane can't have the Iote Shield (unsure if that'll matter since Palla should be able to pull Horsemen on turn 3 so the bosskill happens on turn 5) and I can't tradechain the Poleaxe unlike the Ridersbane between my fliers. I'll give you a video from H2 for shits and giggles.

Credits to commonguard for the recruitment chain and to Miikaya for at least part of the opening. That map requires many tons of precision. The pull I did on turn 1 mustn't be done one tile farther to the right since then, the Generals will overlap with the Horsemen on turn 5 and Luke mustn't get exposed to them while pulling Wolf. Just had Sirius use the map save on turn 3 to make the sequence afterwards, where Palla can't afford to take 2+ crits or to miss, less shaky. An adjustment I had to make is to ensure that Wolf attacks Palla while standing next to a peak, since Xane can't have the Iote Shield and could be killed by the Silver Bow Forge!Horseman otherwise. Since the AI works the way it does, Wolf doesn't retreat to allow the HM to kill so Xane is safe. I think I could also have gotten a bit more EXP by giving Caeda the Wing Spear and dancing Sirius on turn 6 instead of Linde, so they would gang up on another Paladin.

Credit to MagicBarrier16 for that General pull. The enemies on this map sport high ORKO benchmarks and appear in somewhat big numbers, for instance Mercurius!Sirius needed assistance from Sniper!Caeda to kill the Warrior. Luckily, Horseman!Luke (pretty sure he'd need a Speedwing with average stats) and SM!Linde can demolish those units pretty easily. Also the bosskill chance is worse than I had expected even with Geosphere boosts. Anyway, I don't see my team killing Hardin more reliably. Maybe by having Etzel snag the Again staff and buying a Door Key before the map which I didn't, so that's out the window. I think I might have increased the chance at the cost of a rescue use by deploying Katarina over Caeda; Malicia would fortify instead of using Physic, Palla would attack Hardin once with Silver Lance, get rescued, and Minerva would finish Hardin, which would only require one crit. Although there is only one Lightsphere so I think that's impossible positioning-wise. Levin Sword was forged to the classic +2, for Sniper kills without Starsphere and Hero kills with Starsphere. Palla's Lck drill ground rig and Lck bond made her not get prioritized by Heroes, which have 16 Crt. Dracoknight ensures the Sniper doesn't target her because she wouldn't die even with a crit, unlike Paladin!Palla. Marth of course got a General kill just so he can get a non-Str Level. Vyland with double Brave Weapons for MVP.

I made the mistake to give Luke's Silver Bow to Linde.

Initially I wanted to do something elegant with Levin Sword!Paladin!Sirius, but I decided to deploy Catria instead to negate the crit chances. Could've fielded both but I wanted to get Minerva some EXP so I can drill grounds rig Minerva's level after one round (I suppose it doesn't matter if I arena rig or from a map save, but for a weird reason I prefer doing it in the arena). Minerva isn't good at tanking the enemies in this chapter, so I had to adjust the strat to integrate her. If Sirius is fielded, his low Lck can lower Palla's turn 2 Def benchmark btw, since he'd distract a Sniper after killing a Berserker. That is, provided his Lck is lower than Palla's which may be doubtful given her 20% growth vs his 60%.

Marth is likely to get 3 levels over the span of C21-23. RP + 2 procs and he kills Medeus. I'll probably buy one for Sirius in the Secret Shop so I have one in the base in case Marth wants it. Also, gotta plan secret shop items and other stuff. The RNG really liked me yesterday by giving Palla a Lck proc, which makes up for the wasted Lck bond (yeah, I only had one before and Palla with 13 Lck would attract all C21 Wyrms after the Meteor) so I needn't buy a Goddess Icon for AI manipulation purposes. Funds: 36797G

That's stuff I pretty much definitely will do. I guess I can make use of my 3 LSB Goddess Icons to manipulate Crt on C24 and maybe a Drop for Marth's Str. I doubt Luke will ever need Brave sword. On H4 it isn't exactly good on Horsemen outside of C21 Berserker EP kills. I still have the Master Sword conserved just in case, and can sell both Braves on C24, so I'm sure I'll have enough money.

This map was really hard to figure out. Doing the 5-turn at a reliable rate requires a bunch of benchmarks to be met by Minerva and one by Marth. The goal is to get her to the village on turn 4. For one, she needs 23 Spd (4 procs, RP, Speedwing) to avoid an ORKO from the Tomahawk!Berserker on turn 4. She must have enough durability to not die against either a Meteor or Wyrm since it's probably practically impossible to pull the Wyrm on turn 2 or kill the Sorc on turn 3 (varies depending on how much Def she gets). She should ideally have 25 Str to OHKO the Wyrm on turn 2 with the dragonpike forge. 24, which I had after 2 Drops, RP and Drill Grounds works too but is reliant on the realistic (unsure about how frequent) 50 HP roll. I also gave her 2 Talismans so the Meteor prioritizes Palla on turn 3. The Iron Bow was to improve reliability since Ymir faces a stupid 10 Crt so I might aswell reduce his missing chance a bit. Caeda managed to avoid an OHKO from the Meteor!Sorc with Res Bond.

Marth must get into 3HKO range against the Berserkers (46 Atk + 47 Atk) on turn 3. Lv24 Marth has roughly 51 HP on average and 17 Def, which is enough to get 3HKOed with A Swords and RP. With the Dracoshield it's more reliable but it didn't end up mattering on this run.

A nice side fact is the Dracoknight going alongside Xane gets 3 Dragon kills and the boss, so if you want some flier to still self-improve that late, you can stick them to this route.

Also, on a strict CR* LTC (that skips the Elysian Whip), either Palla or Sirius must get 25 Def for the shielding formation and do what Catria did here so that the doubling damage doesn't make the Wyrms choose them over RP!Linde. They probably need arena usage, a Shield and RP.

As for possible variations on this strat, it seems the Horseman bosskill strat you can see in PKL's 5-turn / commonguard's 6-turn definitely still seems to work with either a pretty durable Horseman, or more safely on H4, with Paladin!Sirius (more durable than the Horseman) using the Brave Sword when engaging the Thoron!Sorc on turn 4 (danced immediately before), and being tradechained the Brave Lance by Catria + the Horseman on turn 5. Xane distracts a Wyrm from him on turn 4 EP. The Thief on the Secret Shop is killed by Javelin!Minerva and Silver Lance!MU / Palla. Sirius will OHKO the boss with Brave Lance forge. In that case, Xane will fly towards the boss area alone, which may be a waste of EXP if you still care at that point, you probably won't. Also, a Brave Sword!Horseman is very safe on H3 too. You can also do it the easy way and just have one flier rush towards the boss to critkill him.

Also opted against buying the Energy Drop since Marth will get 2 additional levels for sure, and Sirius, who did turn out to hit 24 Str, could've been fixed with the base shop drop if really necessary.

Mainly credit to Kngt_of_Titania - I doubt I would've explored the possibility had he not confirmed it by doing the clear, even though my clear turned out different for reliability reasons.

Chapter 21 is completed in 5/172 turns with 1 Rescue and 1 Again.

* IR LTC can field Paladins on this map much more easily, which makes the formation pretty lenient as their spd cap allows them to not get doubled by wyrms.

Sold nothing.
Bought in the base shop: 40 Iron Bow, 2 Talismans

Bought on-map: 3 Dracoshield, 3 Angelic Robes, 9 Pure Water - 22240G (total for both on-map and base shop).

Arena was used on Luke for 1600G, proccing HP, Spd, Lck and Def.

on Minerva for 1240G, procs are Str, Skl, Spd, Def.

Funds: 11717G

2 LSB Talismans were used on Minerva.

2 Rainbow Potion uses (8 left):

Linde avoids doubling from Wyrms. Would still have used on a Spd-capped Linde since she'd need it to deal sufficient Nostank damage as a Bishop, in which class Physic is available to her, unlike Sage.

Minerva obviously for her benchmarks.

Also going to gun for a 4-turn of C22 with 1 Rescue use and an above-20% bosskill chance. The best Crt achievable with a Gradivus!Paladin (the tile in front of the door is located 12 tiles from the throne) is 18. What will I do?

Managed to allocate a Rescue instead of the standard Again, used on turn 4 on Feena so she can dance Marth to the throne. Making the strat as reliable as it gets was actually kind of a puzzle - I wanted to bring the bosskill chance over 20%, avoid taking a hit from the Killer Axe!Berserker and not depend on the Def roll to kill the Silver Sword!Swordmaster west of the starting positions. The first issue can only be solved with an additional Again use or by bringing a A-support unit close to the bosskiller. Needless to say, wasting an Again use is out the window. I also gave Palla an Iron Sword so she's targetted by the Swordmaster instead of Marth, which was crucial for a strat I first intended to do, involving RP!Sirius, but now that I managed to avoid the RP on him, Marth isn't targetted thanks to low Lck on Sirius, making the decision to still buy the Iron Sword a mistake (though not a meaningful one, obviously). To avoid a Killer Axe hit, in the form of killing him on PP2, a Parthia!Horseman and a Gradivus!Paladin with 48 cumulative Str or better have to gang up on him. On H3, Brave Weapons or melee regalia work too. This makes routing the middle Sorcs and the Swordmasters a bit harder. I threw Minerva and Pure Water!Paladin!Caeda at the SM to limit his movement, and had Nagi + Etzel finish the Silver Sword one. Linde, whom I picked for the Rescuer, and Sirius, can conveniently gang up on the Fire Dragon without getting out of their ways. Xane imitated Luke to kill the remaining Sorcerer. Catria wasn't allowed to attack on PP2 either because she must take the position she took to reach the boss on turn 4. Palla just beelined the same way she went to apply her A-ranked support to Catria, which, when combined with the Skl Bond, brings the bosskilling chance to 20.9%. It's very nitpicky I guess but I still went for it.

Also got the Fortify because Luke didn't have anything else to do - If Horseman!Sirius (or whatever secondary Horseman) isn't around, the Fortify is likely not obtained in 4 turns. May still be possible though. It shouldn't make a difference outside of selling for 1500G anyway. In fact, I now have 26 Fortify uses. Also, the map is comparatively easy.

Chapter 22 is completed in 4/176 turns with 1 Rescue use.

Yellow = HM!Sirius, green = Paladin!Palla and blue = Paladin!Catria.

Planning to 3-turn C23 with 1 Rescue and 1 Again. The picture shows their positions on turn 2 and the path for turn 3. Essentially, I must pull the 2 Sorc + Mage Dragon group to reach the upper-most Mage Dragon on turn 3. The way the units stand, the Mage Dragon targets Sirius, the left Glower should go for Palla (same damage & hit, no Crt, no counter attack? I estimate that's how they work) and the right one for Catria. There is a gap for Brave Lance!Xane to finish off the Mage Dragon weakened by Sirius' Iron Bow on EP; Sirius with said Iron Bow and Palla with the +5 Dragonpike will gang up on the corridor Fire Dragon. Luke uses the upper map save for Catria to Gradivus crit the Mage Dragon at 20%. Linde is danced, rescues Marth and is Agained for the Gharnef crit, for which Caeda uses the lower map save. Marth then seizes.

The strat will probably involve a second Wyrmslayer forge for Sirius to counterkill (by having Linde pull a Fire Dragon on such a tile that Sirius can only be attacked at 1-range) a Mage Dragon on turn 1 in addition to Luke killing the lowest middle Mage Dragon with the already existing forge. Gradivus!Palla weakens 2 Dragons on the LHS, picked off by Nagi and Xane. Marth picks off the Fire Dragon weakened by Linde, and Luke kills the Mage Dragon that attacked during the EP with Wyrmslayer. I must probably dance Malicia on turn 2 for double Fortify. Sniper!Caeda and Marth will both choke away the remaining Fire Dragons. Etzel is the Again user, allowing Malicia to fire off a Fortify on turn 3.

It works.

This map can be very challenging. It contains 27 Spd Fire Dragons that can't be doubled, thus aren't ORKOed by anything except a +9 or higher Dragonpike forge. Since they pretty much require two rounds to be defeated, I had to leave durable units in their attacking ranges on the enemy phase so someone else can deal the final blow on the next PP. Mage Dragons are very bulky; a Str-capped Swordmaster or Horseman must have A Swords to ORKO. Marth cannot double (which he can in C22 but it's unuseful). Since Sirius and Luke couldn't afford to go Swordmaster to meet those benchmarks with the WEXP buff + RP because I needed the 9 Mov, I forged a +1 Wyrmslayer for each of them. They're defensively weaker due to their doubleability. On top of those Dragons, there are Meteor-wielding Sorcerers that cover the majority of the area where the Dragons are battled and therefore can easily pick off units weakened by Dragons. The Meteor also chips my units heavily, preventing them from attacking due to H4 recoil. I had to dance Malicia on turn 2 so she used Fortify twice on the same turn. Gradivus!Paladins barely don't 2HKO Dragons on this map, which is handy for EP chipping without triggering the Fortify users (and additionally, a crit kills Dragons and doesn't trigger the Fortify either, unlike a Javelin).

It takes a bunch of units to deal with the lower Dragons, but I had to charge forward simultaneously, which requires at least 3 mounted combattants to pull the 2 Sorcerer + 1 Mage Dragon group. Sirius' role can be imitated by a Paladin with Javelin or Gradivus, while the roles of the Pegasus sisters probably require Paladins (or a Falcoknight, but in this case Catria needed Paladin to attract the Meteor on turn 1). A forged Dragonpike is unnecessary since Luke's and Sirius' roles can be swapped for a Parthia chip. I don't believe a Gradivus crit has the highest chance to kill the Mage Dragon on the second stairway, but I can't find a way to improve it with my team; it seems to be possible with a Killer Bow!Horseman, but he must be placed in the middle of the stairway, which probably requires a formation with 4-5 units. It's above 20% so I took it.

22% chance to blick the Mage Dragon with a Gradivus crit, 24% chance to kill Gharnef with a Starlight crit.

A 2-turn with only 1 Again and 2 Rescue (or 2 Again 1 Rescue) and no deaths seems to work - either, a Nosferatu user is danced and Again'd on turn 1 to pull the upper-most Dragon group directly, and then rescues Marth + blicks Gharnef after another Again, or the Nosferatank is rescued on turn 1 and does the same thing on turn 2. It probably requires a ton of Def and HP; look at Malicia in KoT's H3 run.

The reason I bought the heal is because I messed up a testrun since she got killed by the Mage Dragon on PP3, but I derped and forgot I didn't use the Barrier back then, so the Heal was actually unnecessary.

Chapter 23 is completed in 3/179 turns with 1 Rescue and 1 Again.

Nothing sold

Bought Heal - 800G.

Forged +1 Mt Wyrmslayer for 1200G.

No arena or statbooster usage.

4 Rainbow Potion uses (3 remaining):

Palla doesn't have low Lck and thus isn't targetted by the Mage Dragon on EP2.

Catria is guaranteed to hit the 20 Crt mark as a Paladin. I doubt I'll need 4 RPs for C24 anyway.

Linde isn't OHKOed by Fire Dragons.

Sirius doubles Mage Dragons as a Horseman.
