COUNT II: Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud and Wire Fraud

...there it is...

The "Piss Tape" is a salacious distraction, but the heavier (and largely ignored) accusation that came out of the Steel Dossier was "widespread evidence of Russian Money Laundering through the Trump Organization."

[Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud]. That's  where big-name players are going to jail, if Mueller has obtained evidence of collusion on the American side.

The piss tape will be the only good thing to come out of the Trump presidency.

It is pretty hilarious about how the Republicans said that Obama was gonna 'take the guns away' for years and yet here's Trump just blatantly stating it over due process. I've seen quite a few supporters lose their minds over this. Funnily enough, Trump was probably right if he said if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue, he wouldn't lose any supporters, but he probably will if he tries to take guns away, or even just stating this.

I mean, he'll probably be back to saying we should arm teachers or whatever soon, but still.

Losing their minds is probably an understatement.

Also, it's hilarious how the thing that loses him support is almost the opposite of shooting someone on 5th Avenue.

A little late to the trigger, but here we see the most disgusting remark Trump has made to date.

I can't think of anything to add to this really, it just speaks for itself.

Him trying to use a school shooting to smear an investigation against him still sounds more disgusting.

Considering everyone around Trump has zero faith in him I wouldn't worry. The American houses would never willingly vote to be stuck with Trump for the rest of their lives.

Definitely not the most disgusting. This was more or less his campaign

I think, as dumb as Trump is, he knows this would be the last straw to a violent revolution.

Though I don't even know why he'd stoke the flames like this.

But yeah, he's said more things that were shittier on a smaller scale, but I think this would be the thing that would actually split the country in two and cause another civil war.

His campaign that was carried on the backs of people who thought Obama was going to steal a 3rd term, take all the guns away, and become a dictator. Trump has just insinuated he'd like to do all 3 of those things in the span of a week, but at this point I doubt it will matter.

Someone recently brought this up on CNN. There's an old episode of the Simpsons where Mr. Burns goes to the doctor, and the exchange goes something like:

Mr. Burns: I'm healthy?

Doctor: No. You have every disease known to man. Including several new diseases that have just been discovered--in you.

Mr. Burns: Then I'm...dying???

Doctor: No. You see; all your diseases are trying to kill you at the same time, and this happens:

...so none of them can actually hurt you.

I feel like that's a good metaphor for where the Trump white house is at right now. Theres so much chaos and so many scandals that, individually, should all be lethal to a Presidency.

But they're all crowding each other out.

...One minute its Rob Porter, domestic violence, and persons without security clearance handling top secret information.
...The next its Jared Kushner, nepotism, conflict-of-interest, and the appearance of selling foreign policy concessions for investments in failing real estate
...The next its porn stars, hush-money, non-disclosure agreements, and fresh accusations of marital infidelity and sexual assault.
...The next its another high-level resignation or conflict between staffers in the White House.
...The next its another indictment in the Russia Investigation.
...The next its another insane tweet.

...and nothing ever has time to stick...

Before one thing settles, its on to the next crisis.

Yeah though I'm pretty sure he was joking.

The issue is that joking about fundamental rights in a position of this magnitude is very bad especially in a bad context. It's a meeting with leaders, not the WHCD.

We might be getting the most 2018 future I can think of: Trump gets NK to stop its nuclear program and both Koreas to unite, gets impeached over financial felonies he committed to quietly pay off a hooker.

Not gonna lie. Of all the shit he's done that he could get impeached over; I'm going to be a bit salty if it just goes back to sex scandals and America being a nation of prudes.

You've got the president's son-in-law over in China playing amateur diplomat with a position he has no qualifications for because he just so happens to be fucking the boss's daughter. Using the position to sell United States immigration visas in exchange for monetary payments to his real estate holding company.  And oh btw--not only does he have no credentials, he couldn't get security clearance for an actual job in the White House because his FBI background check came back high level bribery and blackmail risk. But his father-in-law the President was still treating him like a top advisor and giving him state secrets and putting him in charge of diplomacy and public policy.

...not gonna act like THAT's breaking a million ethics rules and anti-corruption laws...

"b-b-but the hookers!"

......WOW.

I can't see any other president doing this. I mean, it looks like it's entirely military situations, didn't see GTA in there. It's also unlisted, so it looks like they'll just pretend it never happened the moment they get called out on it. After 8 years, Thompson's back and in the president's chair?

Just, America? This shit stopped being funny 2 years ago. The US political climate is a scandal avalanche and I hope it causes some real change when that avalanche finally hits.

At this point, I'm waiting for the video cameras to burst from the clouds, and a giant megaphone to blare about how we've all been pranked.  But the sad thing is that I don't think that will happen.  I can name someone who likes what Trump is doing.

We all can, sadly. its 40% of the country.

Evangelicals: March 8, 2018

What we've learned from this presidency is that there is a large segment of the country that will ignore any character flaw or misbehavior--anything; you can cheat on 3 wives, screw pornstars, attack war widows and praise nazis--so long as the guy in power is giving them the policies you like.

And thats not just a knock on conservatives; you'd have an equally sizable segment of the left doing the same damn thing if it was a Democratic president behaving this way. But if for all the bad behavior they were overlooking: they were getting universal healthcare, Title VII protection for LGBTs, amnesty for undocumented immigrants, massive new investments in green and renewable energy, and legalized marijuana out of the deal.

I'd be hard pressed to severely "disapprove" of a politician if they were delivering progressive reform on all those issues. Even one as despicable as Donald Trump.

So to the extent conservatives actually like what he's doing policy-wise and think he's moving the country in the right direction on-the-issues, I do understand why they're willing to turn a blind-eye to so many of the scandals and so much of the public misconduct coming out of his White House.

There just has to come a point though--even if you agree with the guy's politics--where the poor character and public misconduct becomes disqualifying.

Like I'd like to think that even if a president matched up with me on every issue. I wouldn't just blindly sweep everything else under the rug, because I want my government-subsidized healthcare and legal weed.

Personal character and conduct in public office still  has to mean something.

I'm more interested in a president that isn't actively undermining the country.  If the FBI has an investigation open regarding another country's attempts to meddle in the election of the current president, that's a bad sign.

The constant hiring and firing of cabinet members is extremely worrying, too.  It tells me that the leadership is unstable.

Yeah--that's still the big cloud hanging over everything else.

The president of the United States is either a dundering idiot, or completely compromised by the Russians.

Soooooooo--How about that Pennsylvania House Race?

Democrats clutch out a win and pick up a congressional seat in a district that Trump won by +20 in 2016.

Helllooooooo November :):

I hope for a Democratic Senate win in Tennessee. Phil Bredesen was a 2 term Democrat in a red state, I hope the appeal of a familiar face will get him elected over someone like Marsha Blackburn. I am far less hopeful for a Democrat winning the Governor's seat, as at least one runner on the Republican side is actually reputable.
