From the 16th of November 2015, same-sex couples are now able to get married in Ireland and have more than a civil partership, which was decided on the referendum held on Friday the 22nd of May 2015, where 62% of voters chose Yes. This also means that same-sex couples that married in other countries will be recognised as couples if they are in Ireland.

For anyone that was wondering, the constituencie that voted Yes the most was Dublin South East. The constituencie that voted No the most was Roscommon-South Leitrim.

Woot go us! I was surprised Roscommon and South Leitrim had a no-vote as majority. I mean I expected some but I did not think that No would be the majority any where.

What I think is that Roscommon and South Leitrim would be part of the BMW aka the "less developed" part of Ireland. A lot of younger people would move out of there to other more "developed" counties in order to find work. If you look at Dublin in general, the Yes votes are quite high. I think that's because a lot of people would move there because that's where the capital lies, therefore it's more culturally diverse and such. If you compare that to the aforementioned Roscommon and Leitrim, people would be moving out for work and such, therefore being less culturally diverse and be less "understanding" of the whole LGBT community. (I'm so sorry if I offened anyone if I got stuff wrong or something)
