It is Sakurai after all and I am thankful he decided to include extra characters to begin with. I was not expecting another FE rep. They look good and quite interesting (They get revealed a few months before Fates release *raises eyebrow at Nintendo*). And Bayonetta was one of those characters I was not at all expecting. It's nice to see that M rating isn't preventing a character such as herself to be included. I've not played her games, but that's because they look way too sexualized and fanservicy to me. Seriously, one of the clips I saw from it had her pulling something out of her vagina. WTF. Though I suppose I'm bitter just because 6th gen is my favorite gen, and I feel it always gets the short end of the stick due to being too new for people to be nostalgic for, but too old to be fresh in people's minds. Knight Posted December 15, 2015 Share Posted December 15, 2015 Shovel Knight was the character I was hoping for, but I would've at least been content with Isaac, Wolf, Snake or any character from a game series I like that doesn't have enough characters already. Bayonetta I don't mind, but Corrin rustles my jimmies, as I can't think of any other reason for her being on the roster other than the FE14 popularity fad and/or a shameless promotion of their game in the West. Both characters look fun to play, both have interesting movesets, but neither really filled me with joy, not even as much as Cloud, who I didn't have that much of a care for. Call it a fool's hope, but I think there is one more character they haven't talked about. My assumption is based only on symmetry, apart from which I don't mean to get other people's hopes up, but since last time they released one character, then three later, they might do the same this time, one character (Cloud) and three (Bayonetta, Corrin and ???). DragonLord Posted December 15, 2015 Share Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) I haven't and don't plan to buy any more DLC, the only one I got was Roy and I've felt it was worth it since he's my main now. The DLC is quite expensive in my opinion. I do understand why it is though, since the devs are putting a lot of time into making it, but I don't feel it's worth it for me personally. I still like to hear about DLC, even if I don't end up buying it. As for this final wave of DLC, not bad I have to say, not really disappointed in any of the picks other than Corrin. But I kind of expected someone else to win the ballot : Nintendo has a lot of franchises and Bayonetta made the cut, I don't know much about Shantae or Shovel Knight but I guess some characters like them should have been in before them. And Korrin seems original too. I might be one of the few who think Fe is reaching the right amount of rep, even though it might not have been the best choices, let's say Lucina, for exemple. And it's personal, but I think I'm not the only one expecting Aqua over Corrin That said, I don't hate their inclusion since their moveset is attractive. Pirate Ship was my favorite Brawl stage, so that returning was great for me. The other stages are all around okay for me: cool, but I wouldn't mind not having them. What I care about is the move set of the characters if that makes sense. Bayoneta and Corrin look to be sporting movesets unlike any other smash character so I am hyped for them. I have played both Bayonetta games and I don't remember any of such things. She does pull things out of her boobies though. Although I want to add, Bayonetta is flirty and sexy but she is not shallow or without background. She is still a well developed character and her way of being feels natural and not forced. It does not feel like she was made to sell (too aggressive, her proportions are weird, glasses are not found sexy by the majority of people), her games bombed after all. It's also extremely exaggerated (all in the series is) and her surreal proportions are closer to fashion drawings than porno or such stuff. It's a very complex game from a aesthethic standpoint, crafted to the smallest detail, and it's filled with symbolism; it might look shallow and overdone on the outside, but it's not. It's orchestrated to perfection and every single thing in the game probably had a thought process behind it. But she is provocative and violent, therefore I don't suggest those games to you, haha. -- THOUGHTS ON DLC: Corrin - Nope. It stinks of flavor of the month publicity. If I wanted a 6th Smash rep that would've been Hector. I dislike Corrin from what I've seen in Fates, and I'm not too keen on their standard design. But at least he looks fun to play. They will not get my money. Cloud - I'm still not too keen on his inclusion, but I love Cloud and I love how he oozes of the original FFVII, therefore it's all good. They will get my money.
