Largely being told that I would be part of the 55%(or so) that wouldn't graduate. Now I'm in college and all of this is internal motivation. But a lot of education institutions are extrinsically motivated now, because they're often sold as a ticket to a bright future to the public, so there's a lot of money to be made.
