sandmanccl
This topic convinced me to use Moulder on my next run, if it ever comes. I tried him out last playthrough just because every playthrough, I try and A-Rank new supports for the support library. He really is a fantastic unit. He had more HP than Gilliam before Gills promoted, ffs. It's absurd how durable he is.

Florete
The question is, how hot is shit, exactly? She's a (likely) Valkyrie; Instant hot.

DeSu
I've decided to teach Moulder Dark Magic with the glitch.
Raven
...Meh, I'm not really a fan of that glitch. The furthest I'd go to abusing a glitch is the Uber Spear in FE7.
DeSu
awww, but Dark Sage Moulder is amazing! I basically made him a General, only he has full control of magic triangle instead of weapon triangle. You should try it. Especially awesome because monster dark magic is hella cool looking. DeSu
omg Dark Sage Moulder is insane!!! Full magic control ftw! Also, Dark Valkyrie L'Arachel pwns! There is a reason there aren't mounted dark magic users XD!
Meteor
It's still not as good as a Bishop with Slayer
DeSu
I was tired of Bishops. I might male Artur a bishop and give him dark magic... I wonder if slayer works with dark magic too!!!

Defeatist Elitist
I tried him out last playthrough just because every playthrough, I try and A-Rank new supports for the support library. He really is a fantastic unit. He had more HP than Gilliam before Gills promoted, ffs. It's absurd how durable he is. This. He's a Healer that you might think about putting in a situation where he could be attacked. Obviously, he's no General, but he's pretty good overall. His stats are BALANCED. Not the typical Mage fare of Massive Mag/Skill/Spd/Res, no HP/Def/whatever they didn't have massive of. Plus, his Con just makes it better. He makes up for mediocre Speed and Mag by being able to use better tomes with less AS loss.
Florete
I'm looking at growths and averages now, and... I really don't see what's so good about him. People have called him "Moulder the boulder," but his defense growth is only 25! So is his resistance! 20 luck isn't helping either. Compared to Natasha: ----------------HP---Mag--Sk---Sp---Luc---def--res | Moulder | 70 | 40 | 50 | 40 | 20 | 25 | 25 | | Natasha | 50 | 60 | 25 | 40 | 60 | 15 | 55 | He's winning in skill, defense, and HP, but that's it. He's got better con and potential to use Anima, so I guess that makes him better offensively, but his magic, luck, and resistance are all substantially worse. His supports can give him full defense, attack, and avoid, but Natasha can get full defense as well, as well as a much broader range of bonuses. I can only see Moulder being better until Natasha catches up, as she can grab a mount on promotion, making her a much better healer with higher magic. I may change my mind on trying out Moulder. Tino
I'm looking at growths and averages now, and... I really don't see what's so good about him. People have called him "Moulder the boulder," but his defense growth is only 25! So is his resistance! 20 luck isn't helping either. Compared to Natasha: He supports Vanessa and Colm, two awesome units, for +5 Def, +5 Res and +20 Avoid. He also gets +5 Atk on top of it. He's winning in skill, defense, and HP, but that's it. He's got better con and potential to use Anima, so I guess that makes him better offensively, but his magic, luck, and resistance are all substantially worse. Problem is, those don't matter anything. Moulder might have lower Magic midgame and endgame, but he still kills everything with Elfire due to those sexy supports. Natasha might get an A Joshua and B Cormag or something, but that's it, and Joshua isn't even likely to be played. And she only gets +2 Def, +2 Res, +2 Atk and +15 Avoid from it. Moulder's supports are much, much better.
Florete
Growths don't matter anything? What the hell? Those are more constant than supports that might not even happen. And why is Josh unlikely to be played? He's easily among the best swordmasters in the GBA games, losing possibly only to Rutger. A support with Gerik or L'Arachel (or both) grants him full attack and critical, as well as some defense and (unneeded) accuracy. Admittedly, his support with Natasha isn't too great, but it's still a viable option and he's still a great character.
Meteor
Actually, Thunder doesn't match Dmg. Over the course of ~40 levels, that 10% Def difference will be more noticeable. Fielding Joshua is a personal choice, but his supports don't help Natasha much, matching only Hit and CEv.

Regardless, he still gets it from L'Arachel and lots of critical from both.

He lacks a 1~2 range option, is locked to swords and... there was something else, but I forgot, and it's still early so I don't want to break my head over such a thing yet >_< You can think about which supports will be the best for the character and his teammates, so you can already tell which supports you want. Anything can happen with growths. They're anything but constant. And Zihark > Joshua, and Stefan possibly > Joshua as well. Then there's Ayra, Holyn and probably some more from FE4 and FE5 as well. If that's all, that's totally not convincing. You can do that, yes, but what do you think of averages? I said GBA games for a reason.... I know. Averages? Growths don't matter for them, except that they're used to actually calculate said averages. Averages are incredibly constant. Moulder's averages, however > Natasha's averages. Let's see... You forgot Guy
