Question about prepromotes

Hi, everyone!

Since I've never used Yukimura, Izana, Shura and Reina before, I wanted to ask how viable they are in each path you get them in. Is it worth using them over similar units (like Izana over Orochi/Hayato or Shura over Niles) or are they like Gunter in that they are basically just there to fill team slots?

Thanks in advance!

Their growths are pretty mediocre, but Reina actually has decent growths in strength skill and speed, though not much else, so she can serve her purpose as a kinshi knight well enough. The others are fairly bad, though Izana at least has to rare (in conquest) and valuable rallies. His personal skill does way more harm than good though so watch out.

Yukimura is the definition of filler, his bases are decent enough and he had good weapon ranks. Shura has decent combat and staff utility, his bases on Revelation are absurd for his join time too. Izana is pretty much only a staffbot. Reina is very good in both Birthright and Revelation, she joins pretty early on both routes with really high bases. Her durability is always going to be a little spotty but her offence is very good, debateable the best Pegasus Knight on both routes.

Correction, Izana is a Staffbot AND a Rallybot. He comes with both Rally Luck and Rally Magic automatically.

Shura is amazing on Revelation because deployment slots are limited and you're probably looking for strong units (often royals) to do combat duties and don't have a ton of slots for staff and Locktouch utility to handle healing and the numerous chests in the second half of Rev. Shura solves both these problems for you in a single character without taking so much as a single drop of experience (though he can do bow chip or finish something in a pinch). He already has plenty of HP, more than enough Speed to never worry about being doubled, 7 Move thanks to promoted and Movement +1, and enough Staff rank to use Physics, Rescues, and Silences.

Reina's also very underrated by a lot of people, as mentioned her offensive growths are great and while she won't tank much she is excellent at deleting enemies and requires very little setup to do well at it. Scarlet is also pretty good on Birthright, can't say no to a Wyvern Lord and her class set is exceptional.

Yukimura boosts your entire team's Hit by 5, so he's a decent choice for a deployment slot as those expand towards the end of the game. His combat is slightly worse than, say, Saizo's, but only slightly (he's a bit slower but has similar stats otherwise, and better res + a bow rank).

Reina as mentioned is really good. She joins out of the box with amazing offence (also mobility) and it always stays solid, though eventually she'll be more of a glass cannon. She can fight effectively with both lances and bows allowing her to avoid most counters, and honestly is probably the best archer in the game.

Izana's fine as a filler staff user and rallybot, though I don't find his rallies that generally useful compared to some. There are worse uses of a spare slot.

Shura's really good in Revelation and has decent enough staff/locktouch utility on other paths.

None of these units are bad (Izana is probably the worst?), though Reina and Revelation!Shura are the only people I'd recommend outright benching another well-built unit for. (Not that you'll have that many well-built units when Reina joins, which is part of her appeal.)

This is true.

Thanks for your insightful input! :D
