What difficulty do you comfortably play your Fire Emblem Games on?

Recommended Posts

FE6: Hard

FE7-10: don't play them a lot so I don't have any real favorites here, but definitely Ephraim > Eirika in terms of FE8 routes, and FE10 is a bad game no matter the mode :]

FE11: H5

FE12: H3/H4 depending on my mood

FE13: Lunatic

BR, Rev: Lunatic

CQ: Unsure between Hard and Lunatic, the latter has some major BS in the lategame (although I'm still somehow fond of the Endgame) whereas the latter is a lot more tolerable on that front.

4: has no diffultly setting that I know of...

6: Normal (though I plan on doing a hard playthough at some point)

7: EHM/HNM (HHM is fun too though)

8: Hard

9: Hard

10: Normal (haven't played hard in a while)

11: Idk I only ever played it once on normal

12: Maniac Classic

13: Hard Classic

14 C: Hard Classic (Lunny is fun though)

14 B: Lunatic Classic

14 R: Hard Classic (because lunatic makes the game drag on and on and on)

Hard on FE13, FE14, FE7 (Eliwood Hard/Hector Normal), FE9, FE8.

Normal on FE10 (even though US normal = JP hard), FE6, FE4.

Hard ** or *** on FE11 and FE12. I actually think this is the best difficulty setting according to my skill on FE. It fits like a glove.

I've only played FE14 Birthright on Lunatic. I hated FE13's Lunatic and FE11 and FE12's are way above my skill.

FE7: Hard mode, both paths.

FE8: Not 100% sure yet, but I'm playing the "Difficult" Mode currently on my second playthrough and not having too hard of a time.

FE9: Hard/JP Normal

FE13: Hard!Classic

FE14: Lunatic!Classic for BR, Hard!Classic for CQ.

FE6: Normal Mode, because it is more balanced.

FE7: Eliwood Hard Mode, because it let's you use more characters than Hector Hard Mode while still being slightly challenging.

FE8: Hard Mode, Normal Mode is way too easy.

FE9: Hard Mode, same as 8.

FE10: Normal Mode, because Hard Mode is tedious.

FE11: Have only played H1 and H5, of which I liked H1 better because most characters are usable.

FE12: Maniac is the best balance between difficulty and relaxed gameplay.

FE13: Hard Mode, Lunatic is too restrictive.

FE14: Lunatic for BR and REV, Hard for CQ because the endgame on lunatic is insane.

Generally Classic/Hard. While I can deal with higher difficulties, Lunatic tends to be extremely unforgiving - making it too stressful for me to perceive it as "comfortable".

Exceptions:

- FE10 Hard is stupid rather than challenging. I dislike the game as a whole, but I'd go with Normal in this case simply to avoid having to manually keep track of enemy movement range.

- FE11 H5 is fine. The existence of mid-chapter save points takes off a great deal of the pressure.

- FE14 Birthright/Revelations Lunatic are fine. They're challenging, but not actually all that unforgiving. They honestly just feel like a slightly beefier Hard mode.

I'm definitely seeing a general trend for FE10. It's definitely unforgiving even on Easy/JP Normal and Normal/JP Hard. Heck even the Javelin dude in Chapter 1 is something to watch out for, and pretty much all Archers with Steel Bows -_-

The reason I choose Easy is for the kill exp gain. You get around 40 which is amazing on Part 1 if you want to use the Dawn Brigade units in later parts. And bypasses grinding too.

FE 2: Normal

FE 4: The only difficulty

FE 5 Normal

FE 6: Normal

FE 7: Hector normal

FE 8 Normal

FE 9 Normal

FE 10 Normal

FE 11 Hard 1 star

FE12 Hard

FE 13 Hard Classic

FE 14 Hard Classic

I do like to challenge myself and play on the hardest difficulty though, Only done all 3 paths off fates (with birth and Rev been done for my first playthough Conq getting too silly so I had to put it down)And Awakening, which I never want to think about again but my friend did get me a "I beat Fire Emblem Awakening on Lunatic + and all's I got was this lousy T-shirt" T-shirt so it was all worth it.
