3's story is a disaster tbh and Tartarus is prob the worst dungeon ever.

smt and persona are aiming at very different sets of taste so the split is fairly obvious. I like both but for almost opposite reasons.

I mean, I feel the same way about 4. I guess I love-hate it. Both games have their flaws, though. Big flaws that will hopefully be somewhat rectified in the newer Persona entry.

Canvas Curse is the best kirby game.

Chain of Memories has the best mechanics of any Kingdom Hearts

Comics are an amazing medium, and should not be seen as hard to get into.

Comics exist outside of Marvel/DC/Image

Can't shorten this but I've become an Anglophile- I just love British stuff to death.

Manga/Anime should be likened more to counterculture instead of used to reflect an imaginary picture of Japanese norms.

The overall difficulty of RPGs fell between the third and fourth console generations.

Since the 4th and 5th generation, the difficulty of most mainstream RPGs has remained static and outside of specialist products don't even venture into medium territory anymore.

Hack and slash platformers and Run-n-Gun games haven't lost their charm and make excellent presents for children.

Tales of Phantasia isn't worth checking out- It's distracting because of thematic similarities to parts of final fantasy 6 (magitech) and secret of mana (tree) and while the plot and characters are decent, they are more notable for showing prototype material for later "tales of" games. Stun locking everything in the game to death and excessive backtracking basically makes the game tedious and low difficulty.

The best way for newcomers to get into "Tales of' is to start with the critically acclaimed games in the series and not play them in order.

Playing games out of order is often the best approach in other contexts too.

The older sprites and portraits in Battle for Wesnoth were more memorable than the professional ones ushered in after Jetrel stepped up quality control.

1. Not ever too pickey about stories sure I enjoy a good one but I find that I'm pretty easy to please in this department. Then again I love me some cheesy 80's action movies lol.

2. Unless consoles particulary Xbox find ways to have true exclusives meaning multiple games exclusive to them only not ported later to PC or availble to PC they will eventually go away and at best just become media streaming devices. Say what you will about Nintendo but this is one area they admitedly do well in.

3. As much as I love Steam and digital distribution the loss of physical media is disheartening and presents problems pertaining to not owning anything physical (resale, if steam goes down, HDD failure, download speed etc)

4. While Nintendo has made stupid decisions I can at least appreciate them trying new things and having in house true exclusives.

The minimalistic way the story of Dark Souls is presented hurts the overall experience. Seemingly important characters simply appear as bosses, are fought and killed, and that's it. Why am I killing these guys? If I'm destined to save their oh so precious Age of Fire, why are they trying to stop me? Why should I care?

Sengoku BASARA >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Samurai Warriors

Not that Musou is bad. It's just that BASARA is better IMO. Better characters, better stages, cool opening videos, better gameplay (especially from 3 onwards), better story (since it throws historical accuracy out of the window), it's simply better, for me. I guess it's unfair to compare something that does not click with me with something that is basically another game perfectly tailored for me, but... it stings when people do not even try the game and call it a bad Musou clone (when both series ripped off eachother too... but BASARA is the one that started I guess). The genre is similar and they fall into the same type of repetitive game, but playing them is just different.

Yet the series that gets constant releases overseas is the one that I like the least. Why Capcom, why?!
Seriously, even if Devil Kings is funny as hell, it marked THE death of the series overseas along with the terrible release of BASARA 3. They should've started releasing it with BASARA 2 and not have idiotically localized everything as a weird ass fantasy land with pyramids and Texans. Then they should also have tried to give it more marketing. If Musou has a fanbase outside of Japan, why not BASARA? Maybe it's too weird? I'd say it's on par with the DMC course.
The series is probably not even expensive to make, seeing as it loves to reuse assets. Dammit, f u Capcom. You failed me again.

- Skyward Sword was one of the best Zelda games, comparable to Ocarina of Time, and the motion controls were really good.

- I usually prefer the backstory/plot/worldbuilding to the actual gameplay, though I'm still willing to play a game for good gameplay.

- Generation IV is the best of Pokemon, with great Pokemon, a large amount of spin-off titles, and my favorite region.

- I love the Wii U and don't understand why many dislike it.

- The Nintendo 64 is the best game console there is, and Mario Kart 64 is the best Mario Kart.

- I never really liked Majora's Mask, nor understood its appeal.

A new one: FFXV's chapter 13 was good and enjoyable.

I liked it for what it was, but I had my standards set really low.

It got a lot better after getting the sword though.
