Harvey
Everywhere I see in video comments or guides, this phrase "Roy's my boy!" shows up....what's the big deal of it? Yeah I hate Roy but I don't get the idea of it..... Edited March 14, 2018 by Harvey
yokokazuo
In Super Smash Bros. Mêlée, the crowd chant for Roy was (and is for 4 as well I'm pretty sure) "Roy's our boy" and so it just became popular I think.
Magical Glace
Rhymes add charm to any phase, which is part of what made Roy's SSBM crowd chant so popular, I think. Though it's also a Dwight D Eisenhower reference, Ike's in Brawl counts too for similar reasons. Basically what I'm saying is rhyming adds charm to a rally cry or cheer. Something like that. EricaofRenais
I always thought it was a reference to Roy "the boy" Orbison the singer, I never knew it was a reference to president Eisenhower you really do learn something new everyday.
