Yes, I'm also dutch. Apparently, Santa doesn't like us dutch people, probably because we're all drugsusing greedy bastards or something. So we managed to trick a rich (white) saint from spain to visit us with all of his (black) slaves on his birthday to give us presents instead.

I love my country

This is the best thing I've read for ages haha. That's so uhh... unusual.

In all fairness, the idea of Santa for most people I know was terrifying. An old man unlocking your door (most people no longer have chimneys, so apparently he now has a key that can unlock any door) and sneaking into your room in the middle of the night scares most children.

Its strange how America likes to present its way of doing Christmas as the de facto only way of doing Christmas (er, in addition to the obligatory Hanukkah mention in all the Christmas specials).

I'm pretty sure American Christmas and British Christmas are almost identical in the way we celebrate. For a long time, I assumed it was the only way of doing things because that's the way media generally portrays it.

Oh yeesh, that is scary. Somehow a man unlocking your door and entering your house is a lot scarier than a man jumping down a chimney... somehow. Its still the chimney over here, fortunately.

Isn't it just! I remember my younger brother refusing to let Santa enter his room and leaving his stocking outside the door. He used to be absolutely terrified haha.

Your stockings were in your room? We just left them in our living room for them to be filled.

I think it's more usual to have them in the living room, but my family aren't exactly conventional. I honestly don't know why my parents didn't decide to leave them downstairs, considering my brothers fear, and that time I woke up when they were trying to leave presents.

It's interesting to see how similar and/or different Christmas is for everyone else. I always assumed it was pretty different everywhere outside of America, but it seems that's not always the case.

I don't think Santa's getting me anything this year. I've been naughty, due to aforementioned "fowl" murders.

Oh, I bet you've got a lot more to worry about than just the turkey murders ;)

...Alright, using a winking face after "turkey murders" just feels weird.

So if no one said it does that make it untrue or are they the exception

It means that I wanted to make a dumb joke, and didn't think about it beyond that :P
