Oh well. At least you can go to a real college and get high at parties! That's something I feel like I'm missing out on.

Sully! I'm offended that such a good Christian boy as yourself would even consider such a thing! I would tell you that you need to go to confessional, but that's the wrong religion.

And besides, I've been around enough high and/or drunk people to know that it's not really something for me, heh.

But if you don't, you'll be terribly bored! The one time I considered going to a physical college, I had to read their rules. They were terrible! No dancing, no rock music, no video games, and (this was the real shocker) no PDAs! How can one live without PDAs? No wonder people resort to alcohol and drugs.

Granted, that was one of those Christian colleges... but I'll bet you every other college has boring rules too!

...When was this, exactly? A Christian college not allowing rock music and video games sounds more stereotypical of, like, the 80s or something. I didn't realize that there were still people like that around today. And I thought those kinds of Christians were still okay with dancing! Isn't that considered a possible expression of worship that's mention right in the Bible itself? I can always resort to writing depressing stories if I need to, at least.

Eh, I already visited the college I'd like to go to, and it seemed pretty neat. Just the standard curfew stuff, really. But if I find out that there's a secret "No PDAs" rule once I get there, then you'll be the first to hear about it.

100 Aw, c'mon Bart, I even saw you in the Recently Browsing list! I was rooting for you to ninja me, but it seems fate didn't work out that way.

I have no idea what American college is like, but in the UK by your second year you're too busy buying avocados and vintage clothes to have the time or money to get high and go to parties.

Ever heard of Bob Jones University? Pensacola Christian College? Patrick Henry College? Ever seen the movie Footloose? These colleges will expel women for wearing skirts that are three inches above their heels. They will force you to attend convocations and sermons. They reserve the right to randomly inspect your room and your computer for any traces of pornography. These people are incredibly creepy in their religious zeal to keep an eye on you. They say even the bathrooms are bugged, so that in order to make sure you aren't a pervert, they can monitor you when you think you're all alone. Now who is the real pervert there?

Yeah, a lot of Christians are anti-dancing, I guess they are that way 'cuz dancing is fun, and if Christians went around having fun all of the time, people would actually want to join us and we can't have that happening, now can we? It's a bummer. There was this cute girl I used to dance with all of the time, but then she couldn't anymore because her parents decided it was ungodly. Really too bad. She had really soft hands. I miss her.

I have not heard of any of those, which I think I'm happy about now. The only one I can somewhat understand is the sermon part, because if you're going to a Christian college, you're probably planning to go to sermons anyway, but the rest is just... excessive. And creepy. I would gladly take an online college over something like that.

That's just so weird to think about for me. I don't think I've ever heard of that mentality, but considering you seem to know a lot more old-fashioned Christians that I do, I'm wiling to believe you. I guess I didn't realize how lucky I was to have parents that aren't nearly that close-minded when it comes to religion.

...May I ask why avocados in particular? You've piqued my curiosity here.

I'm sure she would appreciate your appearances here then, but I imagine she'd also like to catch us herself next time. And it would be even more disheartening for us if we were caught after 703, so really, everyone would win!

There's a reason why I've been accused of being a mole for the mods, after all...

It's...
Well...
It's basically a fad. Young university students like to go around eating expensive health foods and buying old men's sweaters and jackets.

Don't ask me. I totally don't have vintage shoes and eat vegan food. No way.

Interesting. In contrast, I think most college students here in the US are too busy getting high and/or drunk to spend the time and money on healthy foods and vintage clothes.

I think I'd be more worried by non-vegans/vegetarians constantly buying avocados, to be honest. Although I've eaten raw potatoes on multiple occasions, so maybe I shouldn't judge people on why and how they eat their fruits and vegetables...

Go for it Anime! You'll probably end up homeless and penniless on a street somewhere, but money is the root of all evil and you can't put a price on happiness anyway! That's what I tell my parents about myself at least. We artistic types don't get no respect!

That's what mine said too!!  The past few years they've been pushing me to shift to architecture with no success.  I'm going to have a backup in case it doesn't pay the bills but I still plan on trying to do what I love.

If my birthday was like a month or two earlier, then I probably would be a year ahead, but I suppose being born in almost December set me back a bit.

Fair enough then, heh. All of my courses are just standard stuff this year, other than Digital Arts and Web Development I guess. Most of my other credits came from taking classes over the summer instead.

You're still a step ahead of me by knowing what you want to do, at least. I got a decent enough score on my ACT to help out for most any college costs, but I still have no idea what I actually want to pursue yet. The best idea I have so far is to maybe get a job as a stockperson or cashier at Target or a local grocery store, which I think my parents find concerning, haha.

Didn't set you back at all. I think its pretty neat.

Believe it or not, none of my classes are standard, even band and game are honors/advanced respectively.  I haven't had a standard class in ages.

Well with my major, I had to know because the applications are different everywhere I apply and they all had to be sent in early. My SAT was waaaay better than my ACT but it wasn't bad so I just have my fingers crossed.  For you just take general ed stuff your first year and see what you really like before you tie yourself to one.

I think that's reasonable, honestly. If you're clever and good at studying you can generally survive screwing once or twice in these kind of things. Or just marry someone who has a good job.

That's my messed up way of saying you should do what you want to do btw, not me saying you're gonna screw up and that it doesn't matter.

Seriously man, if you felt her hands, you would know what I was talking about. I never really paid much attention to anything else, actually. Her hair was blonde? Or was it brown? I don't remember. But she had nice hands. Great for dancing.

That is to say, don't be such a prude, Bart! Remember who the sheltered, naive homeschooler is here!

I might survive then ? My current boyfriend is working to be a chef so at least I won't go hungry if we end up getting married.
