So just something I want to get a general feel of people's opinions are. I know what my top 2 are (love Laputa and Ocean Waves really resonates me though I can see why it's so obscure) but not quite sure which of the others I'd put in the same tier. Haven't seen all them yet though (missing six) so I guess reserving some judgement is to be expected.

Spirited Away is my absolute favourite; Princess Mononoke is in my top 3, and the third I'm not so sure about. I remember loving Whisper of the Heart but it's been 17 years since I last saw it. I opted for Howl's Moving Castle but I have a bias there because I also love the book.

I haven't seen any of the movies released after Ponyo.

I've watched four in total and I don't particularly like Grave of the Fireflies anymore, so my choices (Spirited Away, Laputa, My Neighbor Totoro) were really easy to make.

Grave of the Fireflies takes the top spot, although I don't think I could watch it again. Laputa and Spirited away follow not too far after.

I was actually really hyped to see Grave of the Fireflies after hearing what it's about. Visceral, depressing and heart aching stuff etc, etc but when I finally did get to see it I was rather disappointed. I was more bored than tearjerked. Probably not the film's fault though, I built up some very high expectations of it in my mind.
