I would not use a -Spd Nino. Depending on how often you summon, you might not want to invest in her so early as other units with good natures you summon in the future may need those skills. On the other hand, if you summon a lot and have tons of Shannas and Hanas lying around, it will save you some time and trouble in the future if you invest in her now and then merge her into a better copy later. Currently, I build him as a specialist to counter whatever Nino+team cannot deal with and this has always involved a breaker skill. Fury boosts speed and resistance which are wasted on a unit like him and I would prefer to keep his hp high through skill choices for multiple engagements (albeit rare). In particular, I see Earth Boost harmonizing with his role as a tank with a high hp pool, admittedly less impressively than I would've liked. All in all, I should just build my own builds. But thanks for your time. The main reason why Life and Death is mostly recommended is because it gets the most offensive wins. I personally don't like it that much since you pretty much have to spend 20k to get the full effect, AND you sacrifice bulk. If my Nino had Life and Death instead of Fury she wouldn't be able to serve as a pseudo Reinhardt counter (assuming I'm letting her take a hit) :P Everyone gives advice differently so one person may say something to you while someone else could ask more questions and whatnot. I always like to say, "Yeah life and death will win get the most wins, but you're losing bulk too!" Of course, the best sets are always the best too though. You can't give Life and Death to Frederick or Ogma XD Wanna bet I can? :P Honestly though, why not Ogma? 35/34 at neutral can be made into a quad set without much trouble (+Spd and a Hone speed give you 41 speed), and he can actually take a hit to get into Desperation range relativly well.
