Well even if it can't do multiple people, maybe it can only apply Gravity on one person but have a Debuff Smoke around it like the newer daggers

But yeah daggers would be even more fun to use with more interesting effects

Yup, that's something I like about daggers :)

I keep thinking it'd be nice if they gave them the ability to choose the lower out of def/res like dragons... but then I remember how much I dislike Legault and Sothe as my enemies already (and even the bulky thieves like Gaius and Matthew if in the right hands). I just can't seem to utilise them well myself >.<

Yeah Sothe can be pretty annoying to face, but on the other hand it's fun to use him. It's a nice change for a dagger user to be dealing a lot of damage,

I'm actually thinking of a fun build with Summer Frederick. Seal Atk/Spd in his B slot, Atk Smoke on C slot and Spd Smoke on SS. What do you think @Zeo? I was hoping to pull Danxer for Close Counter and his dagger so Freddy can have options, but no luck. While it's nice to have more units as 4 unit banners, summoning on 4 unit banners can be harsh, especially with different colours...

He’s also annoying when he ruins your pity rate and is just neutral.

For his insolence, I fed him to Soleil just to give her another 5* exclusive skill (Spur Atk/Spd 2).

That's literally the build I want for Matthew. What I've wanted from the beginning. Well.. the 2nd build actually. The standard build would swap out the SPD Smoke for either Distant DEF 3 or Flashing Blade for Aether spam. But Seal ATK/SPD is the premiere B skill for him so yeah, that build would be great for S!Frederick especially with CC.

Between the legendary coming, the New Heroes banner and a colored dagger danger banner (which should really be heaven for me honestly) my 17 orbs need to sit down and think so that's what I'll be doing for the time being.

@mampfoid @Alexmender @Ice Dragon @Cute Chao @eclipse @Fei Mao @Glennstavos While we're on the subject of daggers, I want a Prf Rogue Dagger+ for Matthew. One with the Rogue Dagger+ effect buffed up to +7 from +6 and one of the following upgrades.

  • if Matt''s DEF > foe's DEF, foe attacks his higher stat out of DEF/RES.
  • If foe uses Sword, Lance, Axe or Dragonstone, foe can't counterattack.
  • After combat, inflicts ATK-6 on foes and ATK+6 to Matt and allies within two spaces,

He can either tank everything, including magic equally well, safely attack DC units and dragons (his biggest weakness) or be granted flexibility in his C and Seal slot and be given even more support usability. There's literally no way to lose with any of these refines.

@RexBolt I started this year, I only feel trouble against Tier 8 Arena, Chain Challenges and Squad Assaults.

Btw, daily quiz - I only missed the first correct answer so far, which is embarassing, because I am good with numbers.

@Zeo Yeah it kind of annoys me to see 6 stat changes instead of 7 haha.

Rogue Dagger and Smoke Dagger are so fun to use though. I also need CC fodder for Saizo and Halloween henry. Maybe I should wait for alegendary banner for Danxer or Yukaiah ... red and colourless can be annoying when summoning in normal pools..

Now I remember why I used to save for legendary banners despite how annoying they can be. Pitybreakers can be frustrating, especially ones available as 4 star..

I wish more characters had established ages and birthdays. It adds to their personalities somewhat, even if it doesn’t actually matter.

The joke is the horoscopes being cancer :P

I like little things like the Awakening kids having birthdays as the release dates of previous games.

Actually this reminds me of the Bleach Brave Souls gacha. If you log on a character's birthday you get a Birthday medal (plus a quick character interaction), and if you get enough you can exchange them for a summons ticket which is like, summoning without orbs. I wish FEH had something like this.

My personal pick for an effect would be "If foe's Range = 1, reduces damage from foe's first attack by 30%".

In your defense, the pillars go too quickly at the end. I had to do it by elimination: counted over 17, but the attack ended close to 27. Good thing.the other option was much higher, it was going to be harder otherwise. I have derped bigger tho, I’ve chosen Mist Breath Dragonstone as my answer XD

Both are pretty useful, the choice depends also on the buffs they can receive from their team. 

Cordelia got better stats (+2 ATK & +1 SPD), got vanilla GF (saves fodder & feathers) and can reach areas Oscar can't. While Brave+ isn't as good as Slaying+, it's still better for GF than Oscars Sapphire Lance. 

Oscar got +1 movement radius and Hone Cav is still more accessible than Hone Fliers (Goad is valuable too, but to a lesser degree). 

Conclusion: I would say Cordelia is slightly better suited for "GF stuff", but it depends on your team and how much you value the 1 difference in their movement rates.

A couple problems with this.

  1. FE has so many characters, certainly more than 365 if you added them all together. Every day would be a birthday celebration. Would Seasonals be another issue, or would the birthday flag just be turned off for them, or something else?
  2. While the calendars, or at least the birthdays in Afatening are given in Gregorian values, and one could retcon it into other games owing to us not knowing the details of their calendrical systems. Shadows of Valentia uses its own four-month calendar, so how would one plot them out in FEH? I forget what the Valentian Accordion says, but I guess you could convert the dates into what they'd be in the Gregorian. 

Not a bad idea, and I like birthdays, but I'm not sure if FEH could really make it work as is. Unless they limited how many birthdays you could celebrate at given time. Maybe you have only so many birthday cakes to hand out? But then this could possibly set you up for guilt trips. I have one birthday cake left, and tomorrow is April 19th- Kana's birthday, but the day thereafter is April 20th- Lucina's birthday. Who must I be forced to neglect?

I'll agree with you here, but I'm not quite sure what IS's view on fixed ages is. On the one hand, SoV has fixed ages for all. The other is Tellius, where outside of a select few characters, everyone has "approximate" ages which they were designed around, but which they aren't necessarily exactly.

We already get a free summon on every banner and a generous supply of free premium currency.

IS knows nothing about consistency, especially regarding lore.

Well, I'm off to bed. I'm guessing today/tomorrow is when we'll get the new banner trailer. As for the units? My guess is either Echoes or SS because the next legendary hero is red and if the gender patter is valid then it'll likely be either Celica or Eirika. Of course they could just do something random like, I dunno, red bow Camilla or red dagger dancing Ninian. Actually, there being no red dagger dancer bothered me. Could it be...?

@mcsilas Me and my typos. :c

As for CC, I shouldn't have to tell you Matthew is the best universal tank as a dagger unit, but if you're going for a physical specialist, Saizo is indeed the cream of the crop. I wanted CC for my Halloween Henry.. honestly for both my armor mages that would be great, but then there's also Sothe, Serra and maybe even Sophia if I want to do the owl thing.

@mampfoid I'm partial to the sweep refine idea personally. That eliminates his single biggest obstacle: DC. Without that being an issue, he can basically always go into full tank mode with no fear of retaliation, most importantly against dragons and DC armors. It would probably make him instant high-top tier.

@eclipse A neat idea, but I don't think it would sustain him in the long run. It works for L!Ephraim because he does so much damage he can run a special like Sol without missing out on damage. Matt is far more reliant on specials so he's forced to run Bonfire heals or Flashing Blade Aether which... would have varying degrees of success. Would be fun though still.

@Ice Dragon I wouldn't see much use in that effect for Matthew in particular. All it would do is improve performance against units Matthew already does well against. Dragons would still roast him and while it would mitigate some damage from DC, it more or less would probably just put him closer to Saizo in the area of physical tanking which isn't much in the long run. I think any of my three refine ideas would help him out more as a unit.

It's not as if they would break him. If I wanted to do that, I could say "just give it a Firesweep effect while still being able to counter on EP". It would break him completely. Along with... just about any other dagger unit in the game.
