Simplified (Systematic) Classes

I have noticed in the trailer that the classes seem more systematic.

(Weapon) (unit type)

IE

Axe Flyer

Bow Fighter

Blue (for lances) Cavalier

Etc.

It seems this apparently would allow for more "classes" while saving memory space

Yeah, it doesn't seem like classes in their traditional sense are really present here, everything basically falls into the RGB rock-paper-scissors attack types (plus the grey/purple for neutral things like bows/shurikens/healers) and that seems like about it as far as functionality goes. Cosmetically and visually, it seems like there's a bit more variety (mounts, as you've mentioned, as well as a few different sword styles and whatnot), though for the most part it's largely simplified, as one would expect for this sort of game.

Actually, I'd venture to say that all four of these people you mentioned are essentially the same in terms of attack type; looking at the trailer again, the mounted units aren't really even differentiated from unmounted (at least on the battle maps) in anything but their sprites.

So... it really is pretty simplistic. Opinions on whether that's good or bad will differ, naturally...
