Starman
Of course now on to part 2 Spoiler When we last left our Heroes, we mysteriously passed out and were met with. A very similar thought. Who are these guys? Why do they look like the guys we killed in Dollet? Who's Laguna? Ah well, best to keep on moving. Going through what looks like the battlefields of 'Nam. Oh, we're taken to a fight and- Oh OH OH BABY This is a fire battle track here. While we're in battles with this group we're greeted by the very 90s techno heavy and pumping battle track Man With The Machine Gun No better way to introduce us to our new characters. Unfortunately we won't do much with these bastards putting our characters to sleep. Doesn't even have much for us to Junction anyway. Kicking monster ass with a machine gun, giant harpoon and a pumping EDM track. Aw yeah, this is the good stuff. Apparently our heroes are dreaming this? With checking our stats, we can see our new characters and they are: Laguna Loire, a very quirky Galbadian soldier with aspirations of becoming a journalist. His limit break is Desperado, which is just a big group attack. As he is not one of the "main cast" theres no QTEs or such to boost his power. Same with his partners. Kiros Seagill, a more lax and snarky man who's one of Laguna's closer friends in the Galbadian army. His limit break is Blood Pain, a single target limit that boosts damage the lower is health is. and Ward Zabac, a big, burly and just as snarky character who works with his bros Kiros and Laguna. His limit is Massive Anchor, which hearkens back to Final Fantasy classics with dragoons, with Ward throwing his harpoon and dropping down with it, causing big damage. We continue going through the forests with predictable thoughts from our heroes. We continue going down until.. Galbadia against Timber? Like what Zell talked about? Must be dreams of the past then. What a doofus. You can't hide whats inside Laguna. We find our ride and drive out of here and get to Galbadias capital of Deling City. We ride in with... ....style. As the admittedly stylish and smooth track of Under Her Control, starts playing in the background. Laguna really is just the biggest nerd. But it's cool Laguna, clearly nothing bad will happen with us leaving our truck in the middle of the road. None at all. We travel through Deling to head to a "special" bar in Galbadia Hotel for Lagunas sake. Edited August 23, 2017 by Trisitei
Starman
Now with classes out of the way, now i can focus on out first "secret" boss i supposed would be the term Spoiler If you remember back in Garden, Old man Cid gave Squall and his crew a magic lamp so since we're a completely different group in a completely different part of the world/universe/time/whatever, i say now is the best time to check it out. There it is. Be sure to save huh? Thank goodness i do that all the time already then. But by selecting the Magic Lamp we get.... Genie from Aladdin lied, this ain't no itty bitty living space. But Disney references aside, we see the creature that has been imprisoned in this lamp This is Diabolos, the mysterious GF who was imprisoned in this lamp for unknown reasons. And he's a pretty hard customer to deal with, but not impossible Diabolos' main strategy is to more wither your party to half health with gravity and demi and once they're low enough, a good hit from Diabolos is all really needed to kill Like poor Kiros here But thats mostly what he does. The main trick to deal with Diabolos really is to exploit limit breaks in this game. At half health, we're able to be more likely to activate our limits a lot more easily And as long as we stay healthy with some assistance from cure and the double spell we got back from the tower, he shouldn't be too difficult to deal with. Unless you're Kiros apparently And with one last Desperado.. Diabolos is as good as done. RIP my boy, Kiros though.. For defeating Diabolos, we get a G-Returner(which really isn't that needed to be frank) and his card for the card game in this game. As well as Diabolos offering himself to us as a new GF to use. Diabolos' main thing is gravity magic, as well as having some really useful skills to use from him Namely the ability to cut encounter rates by half Oh boy, this guy is gonna be great Edited May 13, 2017 by Trisitei
Interdimensional Observer
It seems strange that a physical object, a magic lamp, can be transferred to Laguna. Junctions I get b/c junctions are immaterial. Also, Diablos is so good and useful, yet so very easily permanently missable. FF games are generally like this though. Barret's Ultimate Weapons? I feel like in FF8 that got this a lot better though tbh. As most of the GFs have a 2nd chance to be obtained at Ultimecia's Castle. And yeah, I recommend getting Mug ASAP from Diablos as he's the only one to have it which can pave the way for getting other GFs.

Starman
Man, good thing i say when i'll update i totally followed that to a T /sarcasm but after ten thousand years when we defeated this devil of PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER with itty bitty living space we come back to Laguna in this hotel Spoiler Well it's no doubt that the first thing to do after 10,000 years of slumber, the first order of business is.. Is to go to sleep again Now that we are all well rested after 10,001 years of slumber, time to have a nice night out with the boys Fighting in a war? pffft Nice to see our young teenage mercenaries are adjusting to this real well now kind of.. oh well, doesn't matter that there's teenage mercenaries stuck in our heads oh thank god Reinhardts just been annoying as all hell in the arena. oh i'm dum nvm Man, it's so real that a guy looking like this is having girl issues. Man, he wont even do it anyway. What a baby. Oh he's going for it. C'mon Laguna, you're right there. oh oh When the ghost in your head acknowledges you screwed up shout outs to Ward over there. With friends like these... Hey, good job with that -3 score Laguna you're gonna be a real man someday. Press f for my boy Laguna Some real friends you guys are Oh never mind, these guys are bros. oh Laguna with your sudden injured leg. Nah, not really. just some gray boxes stuck in my head. it sucks pretty hard, man. :O Oh no one would be list- I take back what i said about being real bros. Can't go one instance of this without our hero Squall Leonhart dropping in his tradmark catchphrase.
Starman
on to part 2 where Laguna gets his big chance. Spoiler Julia told Laguna to talk to the front desk person for her room. C'mon Laguna, all you gotta do is ask about Julias room. ...... What the hell do you think? Oh my. After some time, Laguna finally gets to Julias room Not pictured: his model moving nervously fast because hurrr purdy lady I guess Lagunas low self esteem is trying to make him duck out sure For real though, theres not much to say here. If theres one thing FFVIII is really good at, it's most places regarding Laguna. Like, to me. Because Laguna is just more normal than Squall will ever be, his reactions and stuff to Julia seems more genuine. Theres more a connections, theres more chemistry, more actual interesting things going on right now. Though the writing isnt always the best......... It's way better than just sitting around being dead silent. Trust me. But considering its takes two to talk, Laguna decides to pass it off to Julia I have nothing to say, this is just too sweet to snark at. Man, wonder where Julias song might end up. Might be a recurring song in some JRPG, who knows Noooooo....... Don't cut it here Man, forget this war shit And with the words announcing our destination of Timber, we finally awake back to our heroes Edited August 23, 2017 by Trisitei
Starman
You ever just dream you were someone else? yeah me neither, but these losers sure did. Lets get back to our young SeeDs waking up from their weird dream Spoiler Zell and Selphie sure look comfortable with the knowledge of Squall just being dead on the floor. Thanks guys. .....I know you need to be sure but... Sounds weird that theres people out there to kill some teenage mercenaries. But mercenary work is a rough one. After making sure we're all ok after that sudden knock out Selphie says something pretty perculiar.. Now thats not very nice. Sure is weird we all had the same exact dream with the same exact characters, maybe we can- Damn 90s kids I don't know if Garden is the people to talk about weird dream incidents, but whatever makes you feel safe. But they're right, no point focusing on something else when we're on our big break. Time to get pumped and roll rout This sure would be a nice time to talk about our problems, eh Squall? With that incident put on hold, the train rides up to Timber and we're greeted by the pretty chill track of Martial Law. Sucks there isn't much to do in Timber besides listen to this song though. Ah yeah, forgot to equip the new GF we got in the dream. That we can now bring to us in reality. Don't try to think about it too hard..... Lets give it too Squall, because Squall isnt that nice of a guy. Once we step out on Timber we over hear this chap on the stairs saying what im guessing is the password that the Headmaster told us to remember ah crap, its been awhile i dont think i can remember what the Oh that wasnt too hard SILLY ME. By getting the password right, this young scholar directs us to our meeting i don't know why you're calling him sir. He looks intimidating but the's only 17. but we cross the other side and enter in the not suspicious headquarters of our freedom fighters. Totally not suspicious. Once we get inside the completely secure HQ, we start getting introduced to our freedom fighters Zone, huh? manners are important on this line of work And Zone tries to be polite to Squall. With predictable results from this bundle of sunshine. But Selphie seems more open And Zell, but who cares about white iron over there. These guys must be intense if they got themselves some sort of princess. oh Well thats nice, but i dont think its much to get lost in a small train care, but formalities i guess Damn, Squall with the stance and face palming I bet this badass freedom fighter here is gonna Damn Squall so edgy he just gave this dude stomach pains Thats an accomplisment Welp, time to get the hell out of here and get this "princess" i guess Edited October 13, 2017 by Trisitei
