I started with Iron Blooded Orphans and of the Gundams I have watched it remains my favorite, in my opinion it feels like the most beginner friendly and easy to recommend(of the ones I've seen). It also gets pretty dark, but the politics are pretty black and white in the first season, it only becomes morally grey in season 2 if you get what I'm saying.
