BalancedPro
Seriously it's not the late 90s anymore. The PS4 Pro and Xbox one have very slim and small adapters. What is the reason?
Radiant head
ugh yeah that's going to be a pain with all the stuff i have plugged into the power strip next to my tv. is this just for the dock? really hope there's a usb charger for portable. Zera
I'm afraid I have no idea why AC adapters are shaped the way they are. But I do know that getting a power strip solves a lot of problems.
donkeykhang
Don't know details myself but from what I heard from some discussion with others is that the block is required for conversion of electrical current(AC to DC). It's possible these are built into the other, larger, consoles. The NSwitch on the other hand needs to be compact, therefore the 'block' cannot be built it into the device itself and cannot be built into the dock station because of portability. Jedor
Because they moved the power brick directly into the plug instead of having it hang out somewhere along the cord, I imagine.
Moblin Major General
That cord doesn't look very long.
sirmola
THe power brick might be very narrow. I just installed a modem with a long and tall, but extremely narrow power brick.
Samias
That power brick looks to be about the same size as the 3DS one, just protruding outwards. It also probably will have a very narrow profile, making it easy to plug into a power bar/surge protector (which you should be doing if you don't want to fry your electronics from a freak storm). Yeah, it does appear to be pretty narrow in the picture. I doubt they'd make an adapter that big and that wide.
