I couldn't do all slots, but I was able to get enough in to push my score something like 6-8 points higher than I got last week. Despite the raw increase, I can wrecked in ranks. How amusing. I guess it was expected, though, given my starting team is all water, so my base score would be inherently lower while the whales are throwing around legendary Hector +10s like they're nothing. I gave up on defense, so no surprise there with my 0 wins, and I got kicked out of top 3k rather quickly today with 5186.... my god. It's already painfully dull to play AA, but redoing runs because of trash scoring is the worst. This week I got lucky afterwards and managed my first ever score of 5200, but that's the problem, it's just luck. No team gave any problems of getting beaten, I could use all the elements (except for the first match, of course, which is locked to water) and enemy teams are getting more boring by the run, but hey, that's how scoring works. Please game, give me merges..... I want to stay here a bit longer without having to get stressed out every week. Now the king crown, this is an exclusive item that will only be available at that top of the mountain tier. I don't think it is just going to be for bragging rights. I think it may do something like let you reset a characters' nature to neutral, or provide a free merge, or something else really juicy. However since this is whales only zone, throwing them such delectable morsels is fine, after all they are financing the game.  I think arena has long needed a rework, but I don't think this is going to make things better. Plus the randomness of getting bonus kills, well it is easier to get more bonus kills if you have advantage, and many of us will only have one bonus unit per week which means what the random matchups give us is going to be a huge factor in how many bonus kills that unit can get.  Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On AA I went back to the usual, being just shy of the top 5k. Although it's funny, I've been in the 6k range for months and now I ended at rank 5,186. Teams faced (streak): Spoiler Armor emblem this week. I ended up subbing in Leif as my bonus unit because he scores higher than Anna. I don't think I'm going to be a fan of the upcoming Arena changes. I guess that if it really comes down to it, I could run Dazzling Pain+ Elise, try to feed the bonus unit every KO, and hope it's enough to offset the negative scoring effects of running Elise. Head just wasn't in the game this week, so naturally I got slapped with a bunch of low-scoring matches on the one run I managed to finish. I actually thought I wasn't going to make it. I goofed up selecting my units for the final match. Somehow, Niles ended up saving my butt. Thank goodness. 5169 got me top 5k. I had a pretty comfortable Arena run and ended up with 3572 and a handful of defensive wins. Lyon as a bonus unit ROCKS. Changes to the Arena make me nervous. I'd like to make it into the fancy tier once at least. I saw that Mae was going to be a bonus unit in the next rotation, and I have her at +10, so for the first time ever I'll be able to run a team of all 5*+10 units in the regular Arena...but unfortunately, it's also going to be during Fjorm week, so I'm not sure if my mages will cut it. DLNarshen Posted July 24, 2018 Share Posted July 24, 2018 Season 77 Results: Score: 3,682 Defense: 616 Rank: Tier 20 --> 20 Shanna bonus cycle plus L!Hector score inflation? It's time to whip out the big guns. Normally Hinoka would have taken the free slot, but seeing as how this was also Earth season, I figured this would be a good time to introduce a long-term project of mine: L!Robin. After pulling two copies of her on Ryoma's legendary banner and deciding I very much liked how she played and what she could bring to my teams, I decided I wanted more. As long as she continues to be run on legendary banners, I will pull for her until her merge level is maxed, and I'll be posting the summoning results in the pull thread after the relevant legendary banners for anyone interested in seeing those. Should I be lucky enough to eventually pull what I need, Narcian will be taking well-deserved break from my arena core (Until we can get more copies, at least!). Speaking of Narcian, he very much enjoyed the boost to his Hp and Spd Robin/Grima provided.  This cycle marks the first time one of my highly merged units has been a bonus unit while the +4 stat boosts have been in effect. Shanna already bowls over most units she fights, but this girl simply couldn't be stopped this week. Not even double LaD Ravens could avoid getting double-attacked and killed. She even managed to face-tank a Myrhh Bonfire after I had gotten careless and let her charge it up. I'm going to miss those ridiculous stats after this cycle passes. =( Arena Assault:   Rank: 2,855 Wow, first time breaking into the top 3K in many months. I got pretty lucky with the draws (a couple 746!), and I took advantage of blessings as much as I could. Anyways, I ended normal arena with a score of 3,656 which will probably put me back in tier 19 because we still have the L!Hector inflation. I'll do AA later, although I don't expect to get into the top 5k with this terrible season. The additional M!Marth merges (+7) gave me a new personal highscore of 5,117 today. I'm curious if it will make a difference since it's neither Earth nor Water season. Fire week is nice for me with those blessings. Masked Marth merges also help. the extra feathers makes up for not havinf a defense win at least. Very good! It might also help that I switched in Soleil with Firesweep Sword + Drag Back, so the team has 2 strong Firesweep users. Cordelia and S Camilla also have the Guidance and Flier Formation seals, but they had the same last week so I don't know if those are really contributing. The smarter thing would probably to build a non-horse Wind team but that'd require a non-Gunnthra wind hero to fully take advantage of it.
