Another Video relating to FE:W, need communities help

So as we face yet another drought of no FE Warriors information (Watch them announce something while trying to get feedback for this).

I would like to do something, kind of like my "ask me about Warriors thing", but in video format and just like, what should be discussion topics I should go over and questions you all might have about Warriors stuff still, but in this instance I can actually use footage to show what I mean when I say something.

Ask me anything and i'll try to include it, even if its just "what are x's chances of being in the game in your humble opinion". Don't be afraid to ask something that may seem like a stupid question either. I can also use this to help clear misconceptions.

I'll leave this up for a few days then do the video.

How would you personally differentiate seemingly similar characters when it comes to gameplay?

On the topic of movesets, if there's a player avatar would you rather have them be locked to a unique weapon type with limited customization (a la Samurai Warriors Chronicles) or go full-CAW with a lot more picking and choosing as well as the ability to use every characters' weapons?

What are M!Robin's chances of making it into the game?

For that matter, how big would the roster initially be, and do you think we'll get unique NPC commanders in this game? (AKA opponents/allies with unique designs and attacks.)

These are good ones to start with, thanks! I hope to see more I can answer in video.

What do you think are the chances of having a class based system in the game? (i.e. pick Pegasus Knight and then pick a character of that class like Catria, Palla, Marcia, ect.)

Also, do you think Fire Emblem Warriors would have movesets in the style of Samurai Warriors? (Well, "style" in terms of how characters started specializing in stuff like having extendable charge attacks, a long normal attack string, upgradeable special moves, and the like.) I started thinking about it given how Chrom seems to be able to extend his C6.

Also, one of the quirks of Hyrule Warriors' movesets was that the button normally used for special moves ended up being the lock-on button (or was it the sub-items button?) and the special move was moved to what would be the character's C1. Do you think we could see a change that's be equally unique (in terms of differentiation between Musous anyways)?

Do you think forts will play any unique role related to the forts in Fire Emblem games? Furthermore, is there any precedent in Warriors games for using Ballistae or any sort of siege weaponry to weaken forts from across the map?

Also, I asked these questions in the first thread, and the answers were really interesting to me so I propose them for the video:

Is there a DW challenge or mission that emulates the concept of a Fog of War chapter of Fire Emblem? How would you see that working in Fire Emblem Warriors?

Is there any previous examples of playable characters that heal allied units? I'm wondering how clerics and other healers could work in a Warriors game

1. How will Weapons be handled in FE:Warriors? Will it be a standard upgrade system (like Heroes, so Iron -> Steel -> Silver -> Falchion for Chrom), or can characters swap weapons around at will? (Chrom as a Great Lord can wield both Swords and Lances.) On that note, Weapon Durability?

2. How will Skills play a role in FE:Warriors? I wonder how they will implement stuff like Astra, Luna, and Sol.

3. Who would be the best "Lu Bu" out of the Fire Emblem cast and why?

4. Who would be the best "Nobunaga Oda" out of the Fire Emblem cast and why?

5. Do you think unpromoted classes will serve as generic soldiers, with their promoted versions serving as officers?

6. Do you think items (Elixirs, Seraph Robe, Strength Tonic, etc.) will play a role in FE: Warriors?

7. What sort of "Extra Mode" can you see for Fire Emblem Warriors? (Hyrule Warriors had its Adventure Mode, Samurai Warriors have some "custom character" modes, etc.)

...and I'll stop here.

The bolded ones are rather interesting. I have my own thoughts on those if you don't mind me answering them here before the video. I've put my opinion in the spoilers in case people don't want to see them, though I wonder if Jedi's thoughts differ from mine:

Spoiler

Skills could be done like how some attacks might apply an element to them in the Warriors games: If you hit the target with certain moves, those moves could have Luna/Sol/etc. attached to them, taking effect when the RNG is right. Or, if there's a super mode a warrior can get, you could have a chance of randomly activating the Luna/Sol/etc. effect while in that mode. Alternatively, having Luna/Sol/etc. as weapon skills which could have you randomly activate the effect as you damage the opponents. Skills like Astra and Aether is a bit harder to do it that way, but is easily solved by making them Musou attacks (essentially your character's super attack), or they could be incorporated into a character's moveset instead.

By "Lu Bu", I'm assuming a warrior (usually antagonistic) who's seen as essentially undefeatable in-story and is dangerous to meet in battle whenever he or she appears in gameplay. Some examples are Tadakatsu Honda and Volga (not sure if Ganondorf is considered Hyrule Warriors' Lu Bu, he does feel like HW's Lu Bu at times, but Volga gets some prime Lu Bu moments in HW's story which makes me think of Volga as being HW's Lu Bu). Some of the King-type enemies can be that kind of warrior (like Hardin, Zephiel, Walhart, etc.) but Camus is also an option here.

By Nobunaga, I'm gonna guess an antagonistic character who shows inhuman powers in battle (like how SW!Nobunaga can fire projectiles, make barriers, levitate, and the like). I see Ganondorf as he was in Hyrule Warriors as being more in line with Nobunaga than he is with Lu Bu given how crazy his Great Swords moveset is (so it was easy to pick up and play with Nobunaga when I bought Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3). A fun option could be Grima (make it so that he uses Robin's body, but taps into his dragon powers for some spectacular moves and transformations). Another fun option could be Garon (combine his human and monster form so that he could do things like transform his limbs into slimy appendages for more reach and maybe make use of the fireballs he uses at times in addition to using Bölverk). There's probably some other characters I'm not considering for this, but eh.

I'm curious; how do you think they'll go about building the roster?  Will it be based on popularity, will they go for diversity (either in fighting style or representation of multiple games), or will they try to cram as many major characters from as many FE's as possible... or maybe even something totally unexpected?  And a follow-up relating to that: what kind of series representation would you expect from Warriors?  Just the last four games?  Or possibly more?

Also, I know this isn't necessarily about the game itself, but when do you think they'll drop some more news about the game?  You think it'll be right after Shadows of Valentia is released, or when we're closing in on the release date?

What exactly did Hyrule Warriors do that made people like it more than the usual Warriors game, and can we expect the same from FEW(Haven't played a Warriors game since 2006 because even then I felt myself getting tired of the franchise, and most of what I've heard out of the series is that they've done very little to switch it up)?

1. What do you think would be the likely roster size taking into account the success of Hyrule Warriors and the cast size of Warriors titles (Spin-offs and otherwise)

2. Is it even feasible that class animations will be a thing? My own calculations tell me otherwise, but I'd like to see it from somebody who's been following the series.

3. Progression trees, a thing that's likely or no? Could add a reason to level multiple members of the same class...

4. This is just a joke question, but what characters do you have confidence in that they'll be able to make cool as shit? (My answer is everybody, but yours I'm curious about)

Loving the questions, I'll probably do the video on Thursday, thank you for all the questions so far i'm happy to see the excitement.

Damn you guys, even I gotta say I am liking these questions. Where was all this verve in the other thread? :U
I'm surprised you haven't been asked some of the more basic tier questions, though leave that to me, I suppose:

What maps do you think will be featured as stages in FEW, and what stages would you like to see featured?

If you had to pick one feature(gameplay mechanic, game mode, etc) from either DW or SW(or both) and have it in FEW, what would that be?

Who's that one character you think is gonna be awkward to use, as in terrible moveset?

What songs would you like to hear get remixed? I want to say Together we Ride should be automatically disqualified as an answer. For being too obvious.

@Sire
@Gustavos - Sorry I somehow skimmed over the latter two questions, but healing hasn't existed much besides a few moves or cpu related things. Fog of War, they just tend to be gimmicky maps where you need to escort someone its kind of hard to emulate in Warriors, again apologies for the skim, I somehow stuck on certain questions and must have just went over x.x

Thanks for the answers. Yeah, I did think M!Robin has a high chance, having had appearances elsewhere so he's recognizable + he's a prime candidate for the role as Chrom's army's strategist (which is a good way to have someone advice/tell players what they should/need to do in Musou games, not to mention the potential stuff he might do that you'll need to counter/find a way around when Chrom and his army are the enemy whom you have to beat), but I wanted to hear your opinion on it.

NPC commanders is something I'd love to have so we'd have more challenging opponents to fight besides the playable characters (+ they might be made playable latter on). And if we don't get any playable villains, then they could still be as challenging as any of the playables.

Yeah no worries. I'll likely do this again.
