I haven't updated this in a while so why not? We're just not going to talk about my tiny whale problem.

I currently have 46 five star characters in my possession. 1 was a free character. 6 were upgraded. A couple are merged or will be merged. And there are a few that have been used for skills. I honestly don't think I've spent crazy amounts of money on the game. But I will agree with what someone above said. I'm less excited about 5 star characters than I have been in the past. XD I got a pretty nice pull with a second 5 star Maria and Ninian last night. I'm not upset with them at all, but I'd love to get a Lukas. Even a 4 star Lukas at this point.

4, or 8 weirdly.  My initial 5-star heroes were Tharja and Klein.  About my 4th summons session I had a weird setup where I ended up with 3 more 5-tar Tharjas and 1 5-star Klein; not sure if this is standard to encourage merging or not.

I went for a little while with a double-Tharja double-Klein team before ultimately merging them into the versions that I have.

So I now have:

Klein +1 (+Spd -Def)

Cain (Unused on my team, but +Def -Spd)

Linde (+Atk -Def)

Have not gotten many green characters; hoping my first 5-star upgrade will be a decent Green (or even a more solid sword user, right now I have Selena, but that is primarily for Reposition).

Okay I am updating my list it's been a while since I last updated but I just haven't pulled many five stars since I last updated during the hero banner (only two more) that being said I've had quite a few upgrades so here is my updated number.  So I have 17 in total 23 if you count sacrificed and merged five star units.  If my luck keeps trending in the current direction my upgrades are going to well I'll outpace my pulls very soon. Though being a free to play player it's going to happen eventually.

First I pulled on Hero Fest, hoping for Hector. Got him and a Julia.

Then I decided to waste another 150 Orbs trying for Ninian. I still don't have her, but I did get Clair for my troubles.

Plus I've promoted Sharena and Draug since, and of course "Marth" got picked up. That puts me up to 18 5* heroes, all free. I have the feathers to promote two more, the first of which is going to be my shiny +Atk Reinhardt.

...I really hope Ninian's not on another banner for a while. I don't want to waste these 172 Orbs.

Why you decided to promote Bartre, Barst, Frederick. I hava no idea with them except reposition from Barst and send home for the others.
I want to see your built of those units. This is first time that I see Barte 5*.

I was searching for information like this and therefore i'm going to contribute: 

Playing since march, i currently have 21 ***** Units. I pulled 17 of them, promoted 3 and got ***** Marth from the tempest trials. I pulled other 2 ***** units, but one got merged (Alm) and Cain (-ATK) had to give his Sword to Hana. That makes a total of 23 ***** units ever owned with the next promotion already in sight (probably Hana (+SPD) or Sharena). 

I bought some orbs (1 Pack of 10 and 2 packs of 23) and always got at least 1 ***** unit with these. The first time i've had many free orbs horded and bought additional 33 orbs. With that i got Azura, Jeorge (-SPD), Lachesis and Hector (-ATK) on the "Hero Fest" Banner (hoping for Takumi or Ryoma though). The second time i bought 23 orbs because my horded free orbs wouldn't suffice for getting my ***** Reinhardt on the "Heroes with Vantage" banner.
