Heh, I would have asked if you can pick Learner for me since pew pewing from a distance might lead to lower exp gain.

Really, experience curve for shooters is just weird. Early on, you're lucky to get a pick each fight unless I specifically angle for it. On the other hand, it's not uncommon for a veteran archer to come out of a bandit fight with five or six kills, easily. Learner gets you there faster.

Also, I'm back. Semester is wrapped up. That was the worst semester of my entire life, and it's over. My life is also back in order after the pounding it took from the last three months. Next priority after life is LP!

Welcome to the squad.

Let's continue to romp around White Stag Land! Wolfenburg, south, is a real fortress, no burgermeister. That's great and all, but we need contracts for money. Ognasted, east, is an artist's city.

It's a buff as hell artist's city, with an important building - see the red awning, center? You know what that is?

It's a barber. Rothene gets the murderer's face and a mohawk.

Roderick wants us to escort a caravan, one of the major contract types in the game. Thing is, caravan contracts are really lucrative money, but they lock you to a caravan moving across the roads on the world map until you get where you're going, and you can't run from any fights that may or may not happen until you get there. High level caravan contracts can be horrible, awful deathtraps.

Also, sometimes they just suck. We're the TRADING CAR/ to the right, we just left Ognasted underneath the quest description, and we're going to Norreborg in the top-left. We have to traverse all the roads between here and there and not die, hypothetically.

On the other hand, sometimes you don't even see an enemy or a town militia engages the only bandits you see, and it's just free money and free food (you don't eat while caravaning) in exchange for a few hours of game time. Heck yeah. On the other hand, now we're at a well supplied fortress (because of us!) and we have no money to spend and no contracts to get.

If there's anything dragging Battle Brothers down, it's that you have to do a lot of walking. Especially early on. Olbing had nothing for us (fuck you Olbing) so we have to walk back to Black Field White Stag Nation.

We discover this along the way! Earmarking it for a later raid - brigand marksmen are the top tier of regular old human shooty boys, and brigand raiders are the same for melee. Brigand leaders are named dudes with extremely good gear. This is probably ten-ish guys in total, a midgame raiding target for sure.

If we tried to do it now we'd be lucky to kill a guy.

Sigh. Back to where we began.

The AI does generate squads to roam and clear bandits, and there are other mercenary companies in the world, which reminds me - when I'm asking for what we should do next, banditry is absolutely on the cards! You can make a quick buck raiding caravans, but whoever owned them will hate you. We wouldn't do that to Black Field White Stag Nation, but there's other places on the map. The trip is totally uneventful, until-

Fuck it. That's the perfect way to end an update back. We got to fight nothing, we escorted two caravans, and Rothene got really scared.

BATTLE BROTHERS.
