For people still struggling with the lunatic difficulty, nstyler posted a video of clearing it with 4* free units without SI.

Basicly, Xander is a monster as per usual. Donnel has a neutral nature it seems, Olivia doesn't see combat and the final two are GHB units. I'm looking forward to an inferno clear though.

Bleh. My Ursula kills the blue cav on turn 1 causing the bottom rolo to spawn early. Hmmmm. And 4* Olivia gets oneshot by Legion.

Did you try equipping Blarwolf instead of Blarwolf+ and not letting Ursula start next to Olivia on the first turn? Considering 4* Ursula only does 13 damage on enemy phase, it should be possible to not kill the blue cav.

PSA (In case this hasn't been posted yet): THERE IS A BUG IN THE GHB.

There are invisible defense tiles in the top half of the map. This bug will not be fixed, but orbs will be given in compensation.

Especially on infernal, avoid the top half of the map, as the enemies will have bonus defense tiles.

Infernal was quite challenging. +Spd Fury 3 Hone Spd'd Linde (+1 merge, but Spd seal works) could double tho, and do good damage with Sieglinde+Hone Spd+Fortify Res buff and Moonbow. Also Julia had Axebreaker 1 from Misc skill inheritance, though I could have promoted one of many Laslows. Olivia was needed as well. Fury 3 Eirika was also not doubled by Legion and (with +Def) helped to tank hits as needed. Her Reposition was probably more clutch though.

Also took some advantage of the enemy limit. It's not strictly on a timer, so in some cases it was beneficial to not kill enemies. Like first turn did not dance for Julia so the right Legion was low health and would break a wall. This resulted in only 1 reinforcement spawned on top next turn. I think it works that way? Don't have the stamina to figure out the details but some kiting and waiting was prudent vs. just hyperoffense with the Mages+Olivia.

Yeah already unequipped Blarwolf + and am now waiting for the stamina to have another go.

I got my two Legion's from Hard and Lunatic now.

No way I'm going to beat it on infernal bevore the event ends.

I'll wait for the rematch to get my third and fourth Legion's for a all Legion arena defense team.

I've only completed hard so far, and that was by the skin of my teeth... Not looking forward to the other two!

Infernal gives higher buffs to the enemies. I also felt like there were more reinforcements, but that might also be my imagination. For rewards, they both give you 4* Legion, but Infernal also gives 2k feathers.

Good luck for the other two difficulties, I found Lunatic wasn't much harder then other Lunatic GHB, but Infernal is pretty scary.

Doesn't there also spawn a extra wave of enemies with the blue cav mage and a Legion with vantage and Panic Ploy? I don't recall seeing those on my lunatic runs.

So heres some funny calcs

  • Alfonse gains 6 attack by initiating combat [Death Blow 3].
  • Alfonse attacks. Triangle advantage boosts attack by 20%. 34 damage dealt.
    Raven HP: 65 → 31
  • Raven counter-attacks. Triangle disadvantage reduces attack by 20%. 14 damage dealt.
    Alfonse HP: 40 → 26
  • Alfonse makes a follow-up attack, while canceling any follow-up attack from the opponent [Axebreaker 2]. Triangle advantage boosts attack by 20%. 34 damage dealt.
    Raven HP: 31 → 0

this should mean Alfonse can probably kill off the 2 legion in one round, and Sol probably helps in this. Also iirc Alfonse have Spur Attack which could help getting into benchmark for dealing with the bowbro and Blue Cav

are we finally having a world where our boy Alfonse is Top tire?

Yeah, I used my axe-breaker Alphonse for Infernal, and he can one round Legion on PP. Because of Sol and defence tiles, he managed to kill 3 of them.

Xander is also amazing, takes no damage on infernal. Can't ORKO, them though.

Not sure if this helps but if you have 2 Swords who can one round Legion, in theory its possible to cheese infernal with a unit who;

1. can 2 round the blue mage AND one round the Bow

2. can specifically 2 round the red mage

3. can take hit and ORKO Legion or ORKO on player phase

i have a hunch you can actually cheese this ghb with something like eliwood, odin, f robin, and Alfonse or something whack like that

Not +Atk and doesn't have Death Blow, Lnd or Moonbow, Best I can give her is Death Blow 2 from Hawkeye.

You probably should check with calculator, but Kagerou dagger does triple (?) damage to infantry. Even if you don't ORKO them it still should be best you can get IMHO.

As for DB2, better than nothing. I am not specialist on feh math, but this is what I would do (she is not atk- at least, right?)

Thanks guys ^.^.

...Totally looking forward to Lunatic and Infernal even more...

-.-

I'll attempt it tonight, when I get home. I'll need my full attention on it, unlike TT, which I can now pretty much do in my sleep xD

Oooh I really like this GHB.

First time ever I can't rely on Hector or Rein to clear everything. I don't have a good sword or red mage, so probably will take a while and a few stamina pots until I find a way to clear Infernal :D

When a weapon is effective, Atk is multiplied by 1.5.

40 Atk vs. 30 Def will deal 60–30=30 damage.

I think there are 2 more reinforcements compared to Lunatic, The Sword Cavalry Spawn in the Bottom and the Later Blue Tome Cavalry at the top dont spawn  in Lunatic, but do Spawn in Infernal additionally.

Odin makes a follow-up attack, while canceling any follow-up attack from the opponent [R Tomebreaker 3]. Triangle advantage boosts attack by 20%. 11 damage dealt.
Raigh HP: 42 → 31

Odin suffers -7 resistance [Seal Res 3].

Odin attacks. Triangle advantage boosts attack by 20%. Resolve combat as if opponent suffered a 30% defense/resistance reduction [Moonbow]. 20 damage dealt.

I don't know what kind of magic IS is using to do this, but we legitimately have just got a hard content where Odin and Alfonse is Top Tier

OK if I can ask you for further correction. Neutral atk Kagerou with DB2 and axebreaker would be 44 (35+5+4), infernal legion has 28 def.

(44*1,5 - 28)*2= 76 damage so neutral kagerou with axb and db2 should ORKO Legion.

I am not really sure, so...

Edit: but they have fury 3 so he barely survive.

Just beat Infernal. It was pretty difficult, but I managed to beat it without too much trouble with the right set up.

Ryoma, Julia, Azura, and Camus. (Olivia may work too, I used Azura to kill 1 blue lancer, but it wasn't necessary to use her for it.) Check out the images below to see the exact skill sets.

Key Skills:
Ryoma - Triangle Adept 3 & Draw Back (Reposition Works Too)
Julia - Axe Breaker 2, Dragon Fang (Dragon Fang timing was a life saver)
Azura - Hone Attack 3 (May not be necessary, but was certainly useful)
Camus - Gradivus, Reposition, Quick Riposte 2 (Quickened Pulse wasn't necessary. Bonfire wasn't that necessary either.)

Steps for playing the stage:

1. Julia took out the Right side Legion with the help of Azura. Ryoma was just there to use draw back to get Azura out of the way of the Blue Horse Mage. Set Up Camus to bait the Blue Mage to the left. This is why you need Gradivus.

1E. Enemy Turn. Blue Mage should die by Camus. Blue Horse Mage dies by Julia.

2. By now enemy reinforcements appear and it seems hopeless. Use Ryoma to take out bottom Legion with Azura's help. Set it up so that Julia can attack bottom Blue Mage safely. Camus attacks Blue Mage. Then Julia finishes him.

2E. Enemy just moves towards you.

3. I used Azura here to kill the Red Horse reinforcement on the bottom. But you can use Camus here as well. Then I put Ryoma to bait the closest Legion and put Julia behind him.

3E. Ryoma gets attacked by Legion and lowers him to 1 life.

4. Julia hits legion and gives life to everyone next to her. Move Ryoma Right. Have Azura dance so he can move again out of the way of the Horse Lancer. Reposition with Camus to move Julia to the right and out of the way of the coming Horse Lancer. Camus should be in range of the blue lancer.

4E. Blue Lancer attacks Camus. And Lunges him to the left. For some reason he doesn't lunge him to Legion. But you can prevent this by setting up camus to the left instead of right just in case the lancer actually decides to be smart.

5. Use Julia to kill the Horse Lancer. IT MUST BE Julia. If everything was followed, Julia should be 1 away from Dragon Fang. Use Dance on her and then Have her take out Legion From the Bottom. Use Camus to reposition Julia out of the Bow Fighter's way. Or use Ryoma to Draw Back.

5E. Only two left. They simply come closer.

6. You Can End it Here. I accidentally Breath of Lifed Camus so I couldn't use wings of Mercy to fly Azura to Camus after he attacks the Blue Cavalier Mage the first time I defeated Legion on Infernal. What I did was kill the Bow Fighter with Ryoma and Julia. Then Get Camus out of the way and use Azura to dance Ryoma out of the way and have the Blue Horse Mage attack Julia. So if you don't have wings of mercy on your dancer, you're fine. From here you should've finished it.

Good luck to everyone trying to beat Infernal. Hopefully this helped in some way. If you don't have the exact people I think these can be good replacements:

Ryoma - Red Sword User with Triangle Adept. Axe Breaker can help a lot. My Ryoma is -spd so high speed is not even necessary. Good defense is though.
Julia - Really Difficult to Replace her. Only Nino comes to mind.
Camus - Also Difficult to Replace. Killing the Blue Mage early was helpful. Distant Counter can rectify this. But if you can find a way around the Blue Mage on the left, then any Blue Lance Unit can be used. To Be Honest, If you have Azura, you can even change Camus to a Green Unit with decent defense and Reposition since Camus didn't do too much fighting.
Azura - Any Dancer should work fine.

Btw, I repeated these steps and successfully beat Legion again on Infernal so they should be sound with anybody that has the units fitting.
