Ok, I'm so freaking close on Infernal. I just need a unit that can kill the blue mage infantry that spawns on the bottom in one round that doesn't get killed by the red mage.

Is there any unit in the game that fits that description? (And no, Hector doesn't work. That's the problem. He keeps getting sniped.)

This is Aegis roro 2

Thank you, Kagero seems pretty good choice. Don't they have also fury?

@Zeo Anyway here you have specialist. Hope you find it as useful as I did.

Just beat Infernal. It was pretty difficult, but I managed to beat it without too much trouble with the right set up.

Ryoma, Julia, Azura, and Camus. (Olivia may work too, I used Azura to kill 1 blue lancer, but it wasn't necessary to use her for it.) Check out the images below to see the exact skill sets.

Key Skills:
Ryoma - Triangle Adept 3 & Draw Back (Reposition Works Too)
Julia - Axe Breaker 2, Dragon Fang (Dragon Fang timing was a life saver)
Azura - Hone Attack 3 (May not be necessary, but was certainly useful)
Camus - Gradivus, Reposition, Quick Riposte 2 (Quickened Pulse wasn't necessary. Bonfire wasn't that necessary either.)

Steps for playing the stage:

1. Julia took out the Right side Legion with the help of Azura. Ryoma was just there to use draw back to get Azura out of the way of the Blue Horse Mage. Set Up Camus to bait the Blue Mage to the left. This is why you need Gradivus.

1E. Enemy Turn. Blue Mage should die by Camus. Blue Horse Mage dies by Julia.

2. By now enemy reinforcements appear and it seems hopeless. Use Ryoma to take out bottom Legion with Azura's help. Set it up so that Julia can attack bottom Blue Mage safely. Camus attacks Blue Mage. Then Julia finishes him.

2E. Enemy just moves towards you.

3. I used Azura here to kill the Red Horse reinforcement on the bottom. But you can use Camus here as well. Then I put Ryoma to bait the closest Legion and put Julia behind him.

3E. Ryoma gets attacked by Legion and lowers him to 1 life.

4. Julia hits legion and gives life to everyone next to her. Move Ryoma Right. Have Azura dance so he can move again out of the way of the Horse Lancer. Reposition with Camus to move Julia to the right and out of the way of the coming Horse Lancer. Camus should be in range of the blue lancer.

4E. Blue Lancer attacks Camus. And Lunges him to the left. For some reason he doesn't lunge him to Legion. But you can prevent this by setting up camus to the left instead of right just in case the lancer actually decides to be smart.

5. Use Julia to kill the Horse Lancer. IT MUST BE Julia. If everything was followed, Julia should be 1 away from Dragon Fang. Use Dance on her and then Have her take out Legion From the Bottom. Use Camus to reposition Julia out of the Bow Fighter's way. Or use Ryoma to Draw Back.

5E. Only two left. They simply come closer.

6. You Can End it Here. I accidentally Breath of Lifed Camus so I couldn't use wings of Mercy to fly Azura to Camus after he attacks the Blue Cavalier Mage the first time I defeated Legion on Infernal. What I did was kill the Bow Fighter with Ryoma and Julia. Then Get Camus out of the way and use Azura to dance Ryoma out of the way and have the Blue Horse Mage attack Julia. So if you don't have wings of mercy on your dancer, you're fine. From here you should've finished it.

Good luck to everyone trying to beat Infernal. Hopefully this helped in some way. If you don't have the exact people I think these can be good replacements:

Ryoma - Red Sword User with Triangle Adept. Axe Breaker can help a lot. My Ryoma is -spd so high speed is not even necessary. Good defense is though.
Julia - Really Difficult to Replace her. Only Nino comes to mind.
Camus - Also Difficult to Replace. Killing the Blue Mage early was helpful. Distant Counter can rectify this. But if you can find a way around the Blue Mage on the left, then any Blue Lance Unit can be used. To Be Honest, If you have Azura, you can even change Camus to a Green Unit with decent defense and Reposition since Camus didn't do too much fighting.
Azura - Any Dancer should work fine.

Btw, I repeated these steps and successfully beat Legion again on Infernal so they should be sound with anybody that has the units fitting.

I directly copied their stats from game which is 75/28 so Fury shouldn't matter

Has anyone beaten infernal without SI/is that even possible?

I do not believe so as such a challenge is merely devised to satisfy those possessing the most powerful Heroes and strategies. As such, I truly doubt a mere basic set of Heroes will be sufficient enough to survive such an absurd challenge.

Goodness, undergoing even the Lunatic challenge was simply ill-advised for me, these Legion reinforcements are simply overwhelming! I say, I lack such strategies and Heroes to complete such challenges and as such, I shall not entertain the idea of completing this "Infernal" Legion stage.

Managed to beat Lunatic with a Sanaki/Azura/Julia/Lucina team, but they couldn't handle Infernal at all, since I got destroyed by all the horse reinforcement.

Finally beat Infernal with a blade Linde/Nino/Ryoma/Lucina, but I needed to give Axebreaker to both Lucina and Ryoma to make sure I killed every legion on the second turn and ensure I ended the map before any of the non-Legion reinforcements showed up. Good thing both had 1K+ SP and I had 2 spare Laslow.

Probably the hardest GHB I've beaten till now. I went through my entire stamina bar 3 times.

Okay...so I just two-turned Infernal. Used Cecilia, Reinhardt, Xander and Olivia. Position Cecilia in the top right corner of the defense tiles, Olivia in the safe spot two tiles below her, Reinhardt on the bottom left of the defense tiles, and Xander just below him.

Bow user suicided on Cecilia, blue mage cav almost suicided. Red mage almost suicided on Reinhardt. Legions break the wall. No reinforcement. Cecilia and Reinhardt kill off their foes. Xander moves in to kill the Legion on the right, gets Danced by Olivia, swoops in and kills second Legion. End battle.

Beat infernal on my 4th try because I was stubborn and decided that they could do it (which they did).

Marth: Falchion/Reciprocal Aid/Fury 3/Renewal 3/Hone Speed 3/Quick Pulse

Reinhardt: Dire Thunder/Reposition/Death Blow 2/Lancebreaker 3/Hone Speed 3/Attack +1

Nino: Gronnblade+/Ardent Sacrifice/Life and Death 2/Desperation 3/Hone Attack 3/Speed +1

Olivia: Silver Sword+/Dance/Fury 3/Swordbreaker 3/Hone Attack 3/HP +4

Only Vanilla in that team was Olivia. Xander had Fury 3 and Axebreaker slapped on him just for this. My poor 38 Laslow...you served your Lord well. *sniffle* Your sacrifice won't be forgotten.

Cecilia was mostly vanilla, just with the addition of TA3 and Draconic Aura. Reinhardt's only difference was Moonbow.

Took me a while but I got all three I couldn't just cheese it with my normal horse emblem team that I had to specialize it for spur horse emblem (which I can also play).  Anyways my team was Ruby Sword, Fury 2, WOM 2, Hone Atk 3 Olivia. Leo with Raoudblade+, Death Blow 3, Ward Cav. Camus Fury 2 ( almost have enough SP for fury 3), Vantage 3, Goad Cav. Cecilia (this is the big change I had to switch her Raven build) Gronnraven+ TA3 G Tome Breaker 3, Fort Cav (there cause I was too lazy to remove it but it will doesn't do anything when they're constantly panicking you).

yeah my strategy was so specific to my SI tso I don't think it will help anyone, but I'll give some pointers. First bring a dancer Olivia literally is the only reason I passed this also  it would be good if you give them wings of mercy they will need it to get around. Olivia is also preferred in my opinion as she can actually tank Legion. If you want to play Horse Emblem make sure you do it by spur not by the normal buff there's too much panic here you'll get screwed.  Legion is stupidly fast and powerful I highly recommend a powerful red mage or Kagero for this map.  I agree green mage can also be helpful  at taking out all the blue mages.

What rarities are they?

dunno, but it would be quiet hard and the challenge and prolly invole Vanilla Units like 4 Star Laslow/Hinata/Xander/Draug to tank Legions, 4 Star Ursula to deal with all the horse units and the Redmage, 4 Star  Olivia for movement and repositioning and some other 4 Star unit that can deal the pain. Not sure tough if any of this can survive all the hits and deal with all the inc. Units fast enough, maybe a 4 Star barst that can kill the Lance unit showing up later on the top and the blue mage showing earlier on the bottom?

Hinata will do very fine against Legion on Defense tiles, it all depends how well Ursula and Barst can deal with the mages and the other units.

Found this video from someone named ventus:

It looks like he did it with one 5* and 3 4*'s. Funny enough, when I read your question, I was also thinking of Klein and Stahl/Xander, but I don't think I could have pulled it off.

well it seem slike Infernal was beating with no SI mechanics! That Klein tough!!!

Imagine Classic Infernal, where defeated cant be used again in Infernal GHB!

Infernal has been impossible for me. I just can't handle the excessive reinforcements, especially the blue units. And fuck that lance cavalier with 36 res.

I found it useful to clear infernal by doing as much as I could on enemy phase and then finshing the remaining enemies to end the map. Sanaki with Axebreaker 1 is very effective.

I went and did Lunatic just for the heck of it and managed to get my second Legion. I'm not touching Infernal this time. The rest of my stamina points are reserved for training my Athena, Katarina, 3* Legion, my second Genny and the chore that is Tempest Trials. Since the Legion GHB will most likely return at some point (and probably not right in the middle of a Tespest Trial), I can try the Infernal version then.

It took a few tries of trial and error, but I managed to clear infernal with a team of Eirika/Nino/Olivia/Reinhardt.  Relevant SI includes Fury 2 on Eirika, Fury 3/Desperation 3/Moonbow on Nino, Death Blow 2/Bowbreaker 2/Moonbow on Reinhardt, and Fortify Res 3 on Olivia.  Nino requires the Spd Seal in order to double Legion after a Hone Spd buff, and Reinhardt had Quickened Pulse.

Turn 1: Nino kills the Legion on the right, Reinhardt positions himself to her left.  Eirika and Oliva stay put. On the enemy phase, the Blue Mage suicides on Nino, and the Red Mage loses more than half of his health on Reinhardt.

Turn 2: Nino kills the Blue Mage reinforcement that spawned above Eirika and Olivia, while Rein attacked the Legion reinforcement from the lower left.  Eirika finishes him off, just barely doing enough damage with Fury 2.  She is danced next to Nino so she can have buffs next turn.  Red mage suicides on Rein.

Turn 3: Reinhardt kills the Archer, quading him with the help of Bowbreaker and surviving the counter attack with 1 Hp.  Nino moves up to the kill the Lance Cav.

Turn 4: Reinhardt attacks the Aegis Legion, gets danced, attacks again, Nino finishes.

Turn 5: Wasn't confident that Nino would take 0 damage from the last Blue Mage reinforcement with Life and Death, so we moved down out of range of both him and and last Legion, making sure Nino and Eirika were out of range of Panic Ploy.

Turn 6: With assistance from Olivia, Nino takes out both of them.

Wow...I was super surprised when the reinforcements came. Good job me for not reading the notice before the stage. Lunatic took me way too many tries.

EDIT: INFERNAL COMPLETE! Took a couple stamina pots and some SI, but I still finished it! That was much harder then any content in this game so far for me. I think it took as many tries as Narcian....Here's a picture to commemorate the death of the last Legion.

Spoiler

Finally beat Infernal took me 2 stamina potions!

Did it with this team all 5 stars no merges

- Nowi (Reposition, Moonbow, TA2, QR2, Threaten Res 3, hp +3 seal)

-Kagero (Draw Back, Reprisal, Fury 2, Vantage 3, No C skill LOL and no seal)

- Olivia (Moonbow, TA2, Axebreaker 3, Hone atk 3, fortify res seal)

-Nino (Draconic Aura, Fury 2, Desperation 3, Hone atk 3, Speed +1 seal)

Took alot of careful movements and patience, started round 1 killing right legion with kagero dancing her and drawing olivia back with nino, positioned nowi to take counter kill red mage.

Round 2 Nowi killed red mage, kagero tanked and killed blue cavalier mage olivia took care of Bottom legion spawn and nino took care of bottom blue mage spawn.

That was my initial set up for all tries and then I dont remember the rest of the movements i did, just need to be very careful.
