Shiny Pokemon are in Pokemon GO now?

It looks like they might be, people!

I was playing the game today while out and I sometimes look at gyms to see what Pokemon are there (any Pokemon you've not seen or caught will have their silhouette added to the Pokedex), and one trainer had a shiny Gyarados. This could just be because of the well known one from gen 2, but it doesn't have its own Pokedex entry or anything as far as I can tell.

And it wouldn't be cool to include one shiny Pokemon and not the rest.

I haven't seen any news saying shiny Pokemon were added though. I get news in my Facebook feed. But maybe I haven't seen it yet. I haven't been paying attention THAT closely.

On another note, I caught a Typhlosion. :D

I haven't played in a while, but I do know that Shiny Magikarp was a thing a while back and can still be found in the wild.  I happened to see a Shiny Gyarados holding down a gym while I was in Japan also.  But if they happened to add shinies to the other Pokemon then I'm all for it.

Well, I hope other shinies are eventually added then. Because that's not cool, having just a couple shiny Pokemon and not the rest. I'd love to get a shiny Bellossom! It's one of my favorite shinies ever.

I think they did the shiny Magikarp thing to kinda reflect the Red/Shiny Gyarados thing in Gen 2, and also the fact that Gen 2 introduced the whole shiny Pokemon thing as well.  But I agree, I hope they implement more shiny Pokemon because all Pokemon deserve love.
