I'm not really familiar with SF, but I wanted to post this here for more FE8 fans to find it. https://github.com/rasambowl/FE8CM You should be able to download everything as a .zip file. The .jar file is the program you need to open, before that, read the .README file for the necessary font. I've included the source code for anyone who wants to mess around with that, I would highly advise not changing anything in the other folders, as that is necessary data for the program to run. If there's any other characters you feel I should add in, please let me know, and I'll try to update it. I hope to add conversations with up to two people on one side soon!
