In ancient times, dragons inhabited the world, ruled with wisdom by the three Dragon Gods: Sofos, Sotria and Ektros. They watched other species rise and fall, until a curious new race joined them: humans.

Despite being young and weak, humans were the first to possess a level of intellect similar to that of dragons, and the two species lived together for many generations.

With time, however, the dragons started to have different opinions about the humans and their place, and the three Dragon Gods were no exception. Some dragons thought humans needed as much help as possible, to get them on par with dragons themselves, while others thought humans were too young to be considered equals, but would make great servants. A minority simply thought that the only right thing to do was to leave humans be, to grow at their own pace.

This different beliefs led to a war between dragons. Some dragons remained neutral, but all humans had to take up arms. Most humans took the side of Sotria, whose love for mankind was apparent, but others joined Ektros, believing that an easy life could be undesirable and that with time humans would be elevated above the status of servants.

The War of Dragons claimed countless lives among both humans and dragons, and finally came to an end with the duel above the lake: for years, none of the two factions faltered, and Sofos, the only one of the Dragon Gods to remain neutral, prompted his brother and sister to end the conflict before causing more losses to both races.

Instead of ending the war peacefully, Sotria and Ektros clashed their fangs and claws in the sky above Lake Benacus, until Sotria prevailed on her brother.

For as much as she came to despise him, Sotria couldn't bring herself to kill Ektros, and instead asked Sofos for help, and he agreed to seal Ektros so that he could no longer harm humans, nor dragons, but to one condition: Sotria herself would have been sealed as well...

Welcome to the continent of Remistol, a simple land with a classic story that's waiting to be shaped into an epic tale by the actions of a group of heroes. A thousand years have passed since the Dragon War, when fate takes a new, darker direction...

Recent history:

Spoiler

Year 978 ADW

After numerous revolts, the Sacred Empire of Stedgard is on the verge of a civil war. The people of the so called Middle Zone demand independence from the Empire. Despite the strength of his army, the benevolent Emperor Devais II has no interest in suffocating the rebellion in blood, and instead prompted its leaders to negotiate for a peaceful agreement. The most important resource of the Middle Zone is its position, which facilitates commercial exchanges with other Countries. At the newly born nation, Jovis, is thus imposed a commercial alliance and the payment of annual tributes, in exchange for independence.

Year 988 ADW

Emperor Devais II of Stedgard is murdered. The culprit is found to be a new recruit of the royal guards, but he commits suicide in his cell before revealing his reasons or who was really behind the murder. Before the end of the year, a new Emperor is crowned by the Pontiff of the church of Sotria. Having no living child of his own, Devais' position is taken by his 22 years old nephew, Emperor Ansfried I.

Year 1002 ADW

Following the Empire's demand for higher tributes, Jovis breaks the commercial alliance with Stedgard, and allies itself with the Kingdrom of Gastalla to try and avert an aggression from the Empire. Stedgard is still on the verge of war, and the situation of the entire Continent is uncertain, with other Countries being forced to make a decision between supporting a side or remain neutral to the conflict.

Description of the nations:

Spoiler

Sacred Empire of Stedgard:

The oldest and greatest nation, and the one with the strongest military. Governed by an Emperor, currently Emperor Ansfried I, and a council of nobles. The strongest point of the stedgardese army is the cavalry. People of Stedgard usually have light hairs and blue or brown eyes.

Jovis:

Young Country which obtained independence from Stedgard. It's devided in three regions governed by the three leaders of the rebellion: Lord Cameron of Lefberg, Lord Rasten of Mideben and Lord Jaiden of Wasrigh. Being at the center of the continent, its people are extremely diversified.

Kingdom of Gastalla:

Governed by King Ancil and a cabinet of elected councilors. Every year, the pegasi migrate to the main land from the island of Halimiv and, if attracted by someone, usually young women, they can decide to remain. For this reason, pegasus knights are vastly represented in gastallian forces. People from Gastalla usually have pale skin and hairs in shades of blue and green. Blue and black eyes abound, with green eyes being rarer, but less so than elsewhere.

Oligarchy of Vinhon:

Also called the Mage Kingdom, due to the advanced magical knowledge of its inhabitants. Legends say that the magic tower in the center of the capital, Endymis, was constructed by dragons as a gift to humans, and that Sofos himself placed the first stone. Vinhon is governed by a council of sages, and boasts a powerful magical army. Centuries of aspiring mages traveling to Vinhon made their people varied like those in Jovis, though black and brown hairs are common.

Kingdom of Raedamion:

Apparently quite big, a great part of its territory is occupied by mountains, and of what is left only a part is cultivable, due to the soil being too clayey everywhere else. However, raedamians learned to tame the wyverns native to the place to obtain exclusive materials and valid mounts to ride in battle. Raedamion is currently led by King Marith. In every major battle, the presence of a raedamian mercenary squad is all but certain.

Palmyra:

Once divided between the plains of the north and the deserts of the south, the nomadic tribes of Palmyra come to understand their similarities. In times of need, decisions are taken by a council made out of all the tribe leaders.
In the plains, many choose to fight on mounts, often with bow and arrows, while in the desert mages move easily through the sands. Both cultures place great importance in the art of the sword. Among the tribes of the plains , olive skin and black eyes are common, while people in the south are almost always dark-skinned, with red, black or white hairs and black, red or golden eyes.

Albira:

Little is known of this Country, home to beasts and equally frightening men. However, its territory hasn't been claimed by Stedgard not for fear of its inhabitants, but because it is void of resources, isolated from the rest of the continent and almost totally covered by thick forests.

Church of Sotria:

While not being a nation and possessing no territories outside of churches and shrines, this faction has quite the prominence. The church is present in all of Remistol, though it is notable that it is underrepresented in Vinhon. The current Pontiff is Pope Gwenbal. Monks and clerics of Sotria, as well as all followers, believe that every man and woman should strive to improve themselves while also helping others to the best of their abilities.

Now, for the technical part. I'll be needing at least 3 players at the start, for a total of 4 to 6 starting units. More units can be recruited later.

Character creation:

Spoiler

The starting level of new unit depends from the average level of the current units: it can be anywhere between average-3 to average+3.

At the start of the game, the average level is considered 2. For the purpose of calculating averages, promoted units count as if their levels are Level+15, while characters in the Manakete, Dancer or Bard classes count as if their levels are Level+5.

Units whose starting level is higher than 1 are auto-leveled.

Each level-up, growths are added to the "experience" of the corresponding stat. When 100% is reached, the stat increases by 1 point.

When leveling-up from level 1 to level 2, growths are considered doubled (except after promotion for units that are not prepromoted).

Both personal bases and growths are created with a point-buy system. Personal bases are to be added to class bases to get the total. Growths are bought in blocks of 5%.

Hp and Luck bases and growths cost half the amount of points, as does Magic for physical classes and Strenght for magical classes. Promoted classes that use both physical weapons and tomes (or staves) get a bonus 2 points and 15% growths to the lower between Strenght and Magic.

A player may allocate 8 points for personal bases and 230% points for growth rates. A unit starting at a level different than the average gets a 10% bonus growth points for each level below average and 10% malus for each level above average. Units with a starting level of 5 or more get 1 bonus weapon rank.

Exceptions:

Jagen: a special prepromoted unit with 15 points for bases, 225% points for growths and A in up to 2 weapon ranks. Only 1 unit may be a Jagen.

Prepromoted units (available when the average level is 10 or more)

Est (Available when the average level is 15 or more)

Each sheet must come with:

  • Name:
  • Class;
  • Physical description (images and sprites are welcome);
  • Character description (will determine Affinity);
  • Background;
  • Starting level;
  • Base stats (with growths in parenthesis);
  • Weapon ranks;
  • Inventory.

Each unit starts with:

  • A weapon they can use;
  • An usable E rank weapon of another type if they can use more than a single weapon type;
  • A lockpick if in the Thief or Assassin class;
  • 1 between another usable E rank weapon, a Vulnerary, or a Red Gem (only 1).

Doc with classes, weapons and more: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cQeW-h0kqeGWgJ1ceJjN2oqySZ4ZkeADl5fKkwxjtzc/edit?usp=sharing

Actions:

Spoiler

Each unit may take the movement action, then any other action. They may take more than a single non-movement action, but only one time each and can take no other action after the Attack, Staff, Item and Open actions.

Movement: self explanatory, the movement cost for tiles is in the docs;
Attack: attack an enemy in range with an usable weapon;
Staff: use a staff on an appropriate target in range;
Item: use an item from the Item Inventory;
Weapons: change the order of weapons in the inventory;
Open: use an appropriate Key ti open a door or a chest;
Trade: pass one or more weapons and items to another unit, they may do the same and also change the order of their Weapon Inventory;
Rescue: a consenting unit may occupy the same tile as the rescuers, they can't take any actions but can't be targeted for an attack. Mounted units can't be rescued but may rescue any foot unit. Rescuers get a penalty to Skill and Speed equal to the rescued unit's Con, but no more than half the rescuer's original Skill or Speed.;
Release: release a rescued unit on a near tile. This command can't be used on the same turn as the Rescue command;
Shove: move an unit with lower Con by 1 tile. If the target is opposed, they may only be shoved if they also have lower Strength than the shoving unit. Only foot units may use this command, and mounted units are treated as if they had +5 Con;
Steal: acquire an item or an unequipped weapon from an enemy. The stealing unit must have higher Speed than the target and higher Con that the weapon they are trying to steal. Only Thieves and Rogues may use this command;
Ride: ride an unoccupied ballista. Only Archers and Snipers may use this command;
Summon: summon a Phantom on a near tile. Only Summoners may use this command;
Wait: end the turn.

Other mechanics:

Spoiler

Partecipation Exp;
Weapon Inventory and Item Inventory (4 each, with staves going in the Weapon Inventory);
Effective weapons deal double, not triple, damage;
Wapon Triangle/Trinity of Magic;
Fixed growth (growths are doubled for the very first level-up);
Weapon Weight is mitigated by Con + Strength/2;
Supports (as many as you can get/justify, even non mutual);
Minimum damage equal to 1;
Permadeath: the first time a unit that is not prepromoted is defeated, they are unusable for a number of battles equal to the number of HP they lost under 0, from the second time they die unless they got to exactly 0 HP;
Free promotions: units may promote to whatever class which uses the same weapon as the unpromoted class, as long as it can be justified in-game. Promotion bonuses are always equal to the difference between class bases and +30 points in the original weapon rank.

Don't be afraid to ask for anything I may have forgot.

EDIT: hers's another map of Remistol, but keep in mind that Halimiv is in the wrong spot.

9DMbyO6.png

I fixed the docs (Druid stats were in the unpromoted section instead of Shaman) and fixed a typo in this page. Also added some S tomes.

Also, in case it isn't clear: you can post more than a single sheet.

Alright, here we go. Nice to see this is finally up!

Spoiler
  • Name: Mi'iltha
  • Class: Pegasus Knight
  • Physical description: Mi'iltha stands somewhat tall for a pegasus knight at 6'(~183cm), short green hair almost looking flattened atop her head from the constant days of wearing helmets for protection. Her eyes are definitely stern just by glancing at them, a similar tone of green when compared to her hair. Her armor is pretty much what one would expect: light, yet protective at the same time. She also wears a white scarf around her neck should the weather be cold enough to deem it necessary. Were it not for her voice, one could easily mistake her for a guy.
  • Personality: She is definitely somewhat blunt, especially with how she's already quite a bit wiser than you'd expect someone around her age of 21 to be. Yet despite this bluntness, she has a somewhat interesting sense of humor behind it, and is completely alright with some good jokes of her own. She's also somewhat strict, but being an older sibling often tasked over watching younger ones in their childhood will do that to someone.
  • Background: Mi'iltha was born as the first of four children to a simple pair of Gastallan who was probably somewhere in the middle of the road in regards to money and social status. Being the eldest one often meant she was unofficially in charge of watching over them whenever the parents were busy, which ended up being somewhat often, much to her dismay. It was good for getting herself conditioned to having a varying routine, however, which was definitely a must when one expects to join an army.
    ...Or at least, when she dreams of joining it. Mi'iltha didn't have any way of joining the whole fighting thing until the summer of her nineteenth birthday where one of the various migrating pegasi (now named Deidreil) had decided to stay with the family, having somewhat quickly bonded with Mi'iltha especially. This was one of the things she needed to actually join the army. The other thing that she needed was experience, yet she hadn't even wielded a sword for a single day in her life.
    So a lot of training began. First, getting accustomed to using a sword in general, then actually using one atop a pegasus like the army did. She's still not the best even today, but she's a hell of a lot better now than two years ago. Any progress is able to be deemed as good progress for her.
  • Starting level: 1 (Altered Growth Total: 240%, which is... On par with some of the Blazing Sword Prepromotes. I think it might be really low, since even some of the basic units in FE7 hover around 300%.)
  • Base stats (with growths in parenthesis):
    • HP: 14+4(2pts)=18 (55%)
    • Str: 4+2=6 (35%)

Name: Sicon

Class: Soldier

Appearance: Sicon is...well, pretty average. He stands at 5'9" and, while no means bad to look at, isn't especially pretty. Has a somewhat round face, with sleepy hazel eyes and a slight grin at default. His brown hair has grown out and is usually tied back in a ponytail, especially when he wears his helmet. When he's not wearing armor(And other than his boots, he's usually not. Perma-armor does not apply to this man. Reality ensues.), the tunic he wears under it can be seen as an olive green, and his pants black. His actual armor is a dark blue, almost to the point of purple, color. Ties a scrap of cloth around his right wrist, and has done this for so long that if he isn't wearing it, his "wrist feels cold".

Backstory: Honestly, there isn't much to speak of. He was the only child of two upper-class Jovians. He had everything he could ever want. He could've gone on to become a talented and esteemed mage, and had the memorizational skills to boot. The problem? He didn't care. The boy preferred hitting things with sticks to summoning arcane fireballs. So he joined the army. That's where he's been ever since. He's fine with it. He even secretly hopes he can hold a high position one day.

Personality: Sicon's defining trait would be his apathy. With no real need to choose anything in youth, he simply just does whatever's asked of him. Also fueling this obedience is his need to please due to a longing for acceptance. "Accomplishes" this by never telling anyone how much he really hurts and obeying commands. Feels alone due to this self-inflicted issue. Also has a particular fondness for puns.

The growth total is lower to account for the reliability of fixed growths and also for the fact that HP, Luck and one between Magic and Strength costs half growths. Speaking of which, you have 7,5% points left (you don't have to necessarily buy HP, Mag and Lck growths in blocks of 10%, you may opt to get two of them up by 5%). Points can indeed be put into Con.

Since she has a blunt and strict personality, I feel that the Thunder affinity fits her best. Add that after Con.

Spoiler

If you end up making two sisters later on, I will definitely allow you your triangle attack!

Name: Ahava
Class: Cleric
Physical description: Ahava has long platinum hair and deep green eyes. Her skin is a fair tan due to her time outdoors. She has a slim build that keeps her nimble on the field.
Just because healers generally carry no arms does not mean they are immune to the sword. In preparation for the trials ahead, Ahava dons a light lilac armor vest covering her chest, upper back, and shoulders. Under the armor is a white leotard, covered by a skirt on the bottom. The outfit is reminiscent to that of peg knights.
Ahava wears a lilac cloak over her outfit, emblazoned with the emblem of the Church of Sotria. She has a pair of strapped sandals that reach halfway up her calves. Long white gloves reach up her arms and help keep a good grip on her staff, as well as protect her from magic burns. Finally, she has gold chain around her head like a tiara. It holds a small sapphire between her eyes.

Character description: Ahava is a strong-willed altruistic person. She would prefer a diplomatic solution to a problem than coming to blows. With that said, she is not naïve and knows that blades are necessary at times. As a cleric, Ahava is always willing to help others, whether with healing or simply lending an ear. The cleric is not afraid to take charge in the absence of leadership, especially with lives on the line.

Background: As far back as she could remember, Ahava was raised as a cleric in an orphanage in Stedgard. Raised under the church, she learned the value of helping others through the staff. Ahava was often among the other clerics, healing the sick that came through their doors. This was her life until one night when she received a vision. She saw the vast world before her, filled with people too far to visit her shrine. A cloaked used her staff to heal the sick in one moment. The next, the same staff was used to fight off the wicked.

Thinking that the vision was from Sotria herself, Ahava sought to follow her newly discovered destiny. She left her shrine to become a traveling missionary to heal those far from the church’s reach. The monks had advised against this, but the visions of clerics could not be dismissed so easily. Ultimately, she left with their blessing.

Currently, the young woman has traveled with various mercenary groups for protection, often staying in towns until finding someone else to travel with.

  • Name: Abeloth
  • Class: Brigand
  • Physical Description: Long, Crimson, wavy hair, full beard, almost pale white skin, gray eyes, towering height, heavily toned muscular build. The tough nature of the Albiran taiga shape the few children who survive it into living weapons of unparalleled strength and constitution. This fact is often flaunted by those who venture out into the warmer parts of Remistol. The only vestige of modesty on Abeloth's body is his green and tan tartan pants, and thick leather and wool boots (as they tread through snow all of the time, to show ones feet past adolescence is a show of reckless bravado).
  • Character Description: Unlike most warriors from Albira, Abeloth is reserved enough to not cause a scene wherever he is seen, nor does he constantly seek battle and glory. He knows that the warlords of his tribe pale in comparison to trained vassals, so he dares not tread where he feels he would be unwelcome, and tends to avoid heavily trafficked roads, if only for the spirit of adventure it invokes. In addition, he tends to not be tolerant of those who abuse strength or power. Is also very well spoken for what many would term as a barbarian.
  •  Background: Growing up in Albira as a barbarian is as one from the rest of Remistol would expect: almost boorish, incredibly taxing, and almost wholly concerned with one's survival. Such was the case with Abeloth, a somewhat run-of-the-mill tribalist. That is, until he came across a dead Sotrian priest, holding a holy book. Knowing something so valuable would be destroyed by the bitter cold, and not wanting to pass up an opportunity to learn to read and write, Abeloth returned to his village with the Sotrian Bible, to begin his studies. Once he read the entire text, he left, half by his own volition, and half due to a dream that a shaman interpreted as a time of great wealth and hope for all of the tribes of Albira. Once across the border into Stedgard, he slew two bandits with his bare hands, as they were attacking a priest not unlike the poor sod who walked unprepared into the unforgiving forest months earlier. After their deaths, he took their weapons, left the Sotrian Bible with the priest, and travelled along the road, hoping that, first and foremost, that those along it would at least do him not harm.

  • Class: Brigand
  • Physical Description: Long, Crimson, wavy hair, full beard, almost pale white skin, gray eyes, towering height, heavily toned muscular build. I wasn't expecting for someone from Albira, cool. I think Ice will fit him well since he's an outcast. If you feel his thirst for knowledge is more important to him, go Anima. If the book and the clerics made him a firm believer in Sotria's teachings and he's now all about helping others, go Light.

He can promote to War Monk if you want to, though some Mag growth would be recommended for that.

We are set, and will start soon. Sign ups are not closed though, both for new players or for new characters.

I'm assuming Abeloth starts at level 2, correct? In that case, he gets automatically leveled up, resulting in:

  • HP: 23 (20)
  • Str: 6 (0)
  • Mag: 0 (0)
  • Skl: 5 (60)
  • Spd: 6 (0)
  • Lck: 4 (40)
  • Def: 4 (0)
  • Res: 1 (20)

Numbers in parenthesys are the stat exp for the fixed growths. Seems like your next level-up will be empty.

If you just want to start at level 1, you have 10% more growths to assign.

Well, that's what the "discussion" in the title meant. I guess I could open one in chat, but it doesn't seem necessary. If some mod wants to, they can move it.

@Toogee remove the part about meeting Sicon, he's not near the village. The first battle will start as soon as Toyota posts, your position will be clearer with the map.

Nah, it's cool. Better this way than having someone going missing at the early stages of the rp.

Alright, the first battle starts now. You don't need to follow turns between yourselves, first come first served.

I already planned the stats of each enemy, but I don't have the file with me now. Just know that they are perfectly beatable if you don't do anything stupid.

Right, I should add the objective.

EDIT: I won't make seize objectives until someone is declared leader.

Mi'iltha deals 5 damage to the brigand, not 7. I failed to consider the terrain bonus to defense.

Also, I rolled exactly 36 for the bandit's attack against Abeloth and 2 99s for his retaliation. How unlikely ò_ò
