Any tutorials on how to make a map?

I was wondering if there any tutorials on how to make a decent looking map, things like how to make roads, where to place villages, how to make grass look different, things like that.  I found a tutorial on how to make mountains and while the pictures are small, it's quite helpful.  Do you know of any similar tutorials?  Whenever I look for FE mapmaking tutorials it includes things like how to edit the map into a game, but I'm not making a romhack, I'm just making some maps for DnD.  To give you an idea of how amateurish my map is, I've posted a picture of my first map in the spoiler below.
