Pretty self-explanatory.

EDIT: And of course the spoiler tags screwed up. Sorry about that.

In an inversion of the usual, I think the characters look better in the screenshots than they do in their renders; probably to do with the different lighting.

Nope, just a page for the game on Nintendo's official site. You'd think we would have one by now

You would think, but we also dont even have a US release date outside of Fall. Europe and even China got theirs already. Nothing for the US.

Yep, which is even weirder considering it can't really be any later than Europe's since they'll have an English version ready. So unless they're releasing it earlier I'm not sure why we don't have an NA release date

Nintendo is really being weird with their whole release schedule. Really hoping for a Direct in September, or something so we can get at least the release date. As long as we at least get a date other than just stating Fall 2017 I will be fine.

As others have said at the rate they're releasing information it seems like they're gonna have to. Do the same thing the Hyrule Warriors one did with a basic overview of the characters, side modes, any playable villains, etc. Since it seems unlikely they won't reveal those kinds of things before release in Japan but who knows at this point.

Pretty much. The only thing that makes sense at this point is a Direct. Otherwise we will have a release while missing half of what this game is going to be. Why Nintendo is doing this is beyond me, but considering they are responsible for the fiasco that was the Nintendo Mini and the soon to be fiasco of the Super Nintendo Mini, it should be no surprise.

Awwh, they all look so beautiful step on me Camilla

Screenshot wise, Leo looks the best. He gets prettier with each game he's in, bar his Heroes art in his normal version. Render wise, it's a tie between Camilla and Hinoka, but Camilla gets a couple more points for her absolutely gorgeous hair.

Musou games are way more advertised to Japan, this is kind of typical.

They don't tend to really give the West much in terms of websites, or interaction via polls and the like.

Sure, but they could be doing a bit better than they are here. A website that is actually in English would be nice to be able to read everything on there. It is still a Fire Emblem title afterall, Musou or not its pretty popular over here, and growing.

Well I know that too, but its never been their go to market. We haven't even gotten dubs in several more recent games.

True, but even Hyrule Warriors got a basic website in English so I'm expecting one for Fire Emblem eventually

Well gee, it's no wonder Warriors games don't do as well out here as in Japan... They need to be advertised more.

The west also used to and still to an extent has a fairly negative opinion on the franchise as a whole, so thats likely part of it.

Omega Force (The people in Koei who makes the games), often gets called the EA of Japan, due to the various Warriors games every few years.

I can't imagine why. HW was so much fun and I'd totally try other Warriors games if I could. They're just not on the right consoles.

Honestly, I feel like the stigma is way worse with ubisoft these days (dlc), so I don't think that is the worst thing your company could be called.

Part of the reason is sheer numbers. There have been 9 Dynasty Warriors game with most of those 9 titles getting at least two spin offs. Then there are 4 Samurai game which also have their own spin offs and then three Warriors Orochi games, all of which follow the same formula. Due to basing their stories on historical events the stories are also rebooted each time, aside from Warriors Orochi which is purely fictional.

I never agreed with the criticism myself but I can understand where it comes from. Though I do think the reputation of the series is on the rise. Part of this may be more recognizable faces that franchises like Zelda and One piece bring with them.

Hm, I see... That is a lot of games and they do seem to get made kinda quickly. I can't say I'm against this though, so long as the games are still good and fun and all, but I can get why some would be kinda turned off by it.

Also, there's a reason games like EA's sports titles get releases every year. It's to coincide with the real life seasons of those sports. The NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA have a season every year and teams are different every year. So the sports games want to match that for consistency's sake.

Though other series like Call of Duty or something, I wouldn't understand why they get so many releases so fast. But it wouldn't really bother me if the games are still good. I'm just not into shooters, so that's why I don't play games like this.

Yeah, there's been a definite uptick over the past few years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Europe the region where Warriors games tend to do best, with Japan falling behind somewhat due to the cultural shift away from consoles?

To be honest, if they really started advertising the musou games a bit better over here they could probably see a rise in sales in the US. Maybe teaming with some US company like Blizzard to make a Musou game would be a good way to really get a good standing in the US. Im sure there are plenty of people who would be interested, just got to make sure the see it. Cant sell people a game if they never heard of it.

It doesn't really have to even be a US developer. Hyrule Warriors did well even on the Wii U. Marketing has it's part, but the theme of the standard series probably just doesn't have as much appeal for Western audiences. Though...not sure how a Western themed one would go...defeating armies as George Washington.
