Awakening Kids Power Theory

Alright, so from what we've seen in Awakening and some stuff in Fates, the Awakening children are all skilled warriors. Even Xander in Fates remarked that Inigo's skills almost bested him when they fought in the past.

However, as I went through supports, I began to also realize something.

Lucina, Inigo, Owain, and all the other children all grew up in a world that went to hell. Grima was reborn, Risen spawned everyday, and the world was slowly being destroyed. Hope was a bleak dream. Every single day for someone would be a desperate need to survive from the Risen that attack from everywhere. The Risen are also very strong as well. So this would mean that if Lucina and the others fought through those Risen for several long years, surviving... wouldn't that mean that the kids would have actually surpassed their parent?

Think about it, these kinds of situation are the brutal things that assassins are raised to endure so that they are the ultimate killing machine. Fighting the present day to survive till the next day, no doubt that warrior's skills and instincts would be honed beyond their natural sense. By all means, the kids would have been stronger than even elite warriors possibly at that time.

However, when we get to the time of Awakening storyline, everyone seems to be much weaker for some reason that they are inferior to their parents. Why would that be? They had to have endured trials since childhood the likes which their parents never had to go through. Where would this gap come from?

Two theories comes to mind:

1) Traveling back in time made the new timeline be a parallel verse. Grima in Future Past 3 and then Lilith in Hidden Truths 2 mentioned that people from other worlds are much weaker than they normally are. This could mean that when the kids went back in time, their power weakened without their realizing it.

Or...

2) Having finally escaped that hell, the kids finally reached a world that had light in it. The feeling of finally having peace might have actually affected them. In other words, having entered a peaceful era, their senses have been dulled to a great extent, and even if they train, the training they do are no longer as desperate as before, so their skills weaken, all without them even realizing it.

It could actually also be a combination of both in fact. But anyways, that's what I think.
