it's the same who said Warhammer 40K's Space Marines are lame ripoffs of Gears of War.

But if you want more cancer than that, go no further than "muh stop fetishizing skill" adepts.

You would think a requirement of being a video game journalist is actually having played video games, and know what you are doing. There is a difference between just being bad at them, and not being a gamer at all. This guy is the latter.

At the very least, you would think they would be split up by preferences. Oh, this guy is huge into the Dark Souls, Cup Head, more difficult trial and error style games. Lets let him review those types. This guy is huge into strategy games, lets have him review those. But no, instead we are going to let these journalists just review everything regardless. Which is what happened with Radiant Dawn and its reviews.

I remember when people were asking the question "do you need to be good at games to review them?", I never knew how bad he was it.

like why would you even let someone who can't even pass the tutorial review games for you

like, being as bad as the girl who struggled playing Fates in the Treehouse streaming (but managed to showcase the game and its features) is one thing, but not being able to play at all and do the only job you were paid for is another.

If you watch the entire 26 minute video of Dean playing Cuphead, you'll know that he does manage to beat the tutorial (after 2 minutes and 46 seconds), only to get completely wrecked by the first level.

Playing the game, and playing the game whilst talking about it, are two different things.

I'm not even blaming her for it, because if it is her first time playing a FE game, that's normal. We were like that when we started too. The thing is, she manages to pass the tutorial and showcase the game, whereas he.... doesn't. He passes the tutorial after a long time then gets wrecked in the beginning of the first level 30 times.

That's the difference between playing badly (understandably) but well enough to pass x playing so badly you can't do your job (and thus you deserve to be criticized for it).

She's a member of the Nintendo Treehouse, and is quite familiar with the Fire Emblem series. In fact, she was presenting the FE Warriors segment at E3, and wouldn't shut up about how much she likes Chrom, Ryoma and Xander.

Fates came before Warriors, and Treehouse didn't do Awakening- it's perfectly possible she wasn't familiar at the time.

Thing is, we are talking about the presentation of Fates, not Awakening. Therefore, the issue of who did the localisation of Awaking is irrelevant. Fates was done by the Treehouse, and therefore she would have to be familiar with it if she was to be demonstrating it at their E3 event.

Localising the dialogue doesn't mean she's great shakes at the gameplay.

So where is this video, anyway?
