my mom wants me to replay the game in English.  Send help!

If she just wants to watch another person play and enjoy the story, I think there a lot of YouTube videos that caters to that, although she would miss out on interacting with the player in real time.

She likes watching me play, because I make dumb comments as I go.  Except the majority will now be directed towards the translation differences.

Hm... That means I have to give up summoning in Heroes for a little while. I will think about it. I still have a few more days to decide before the Halloween banner ends.

There will be a lot of in-game opportunities for orbs in December due to the new story plus developer maps, so you could get many orbs without spending.  I could see spending money on the CYL Banner on the 28th, because it gives a much better chance at giving you a 5-star focus unit you want.  Still, the percentage (8%) is low enough to screw you over if the summoner is on the unlucky side.  Personally i'm finished spending $$$ on the game because it doesn't have a good ROI.

@EricaofRenais The teenage years were a nightmare for me too.  I'm very glad they're over.  When you're finished with school and making decent money in your field it will be even better.

Obsessions... hmm...

  • Fire Emblem Heroes. I'm FTP, but I don't find it ever getting old. Even when I don't pull what I want, I enjoy optimizing what I have and taking on massive projects. My most recent unit project was Leo, though I have also done Olwen, Titania, Effie, and Lon'qu. The free orbs are aplenty and when you start to get bored of the game, like this October for me, an update swoops in and saves the day with a big chunk of new stuff, like new heroes and story chapters, even new mechanics, like the healer buffs and lowered cooldown to AoE specials announced in the most recent FEH channel broadcast.
  • The fighting game Skullgirls is an absolute favorite of mine. I am waiting for the developers to finish with Indivisible so they can start working on a sequel. Until then, I'll just be jamming to Skullgirls' incredible soundtrack, reading about characters that were in the massive DLC vote, and dreaming of combo strings for Valentine and Fukua.
  • My FE concepts. I enjoy making my own world and characters, even if I have no ability in fields that would help me there and no idea how to make any of it a reality. Writing stories and supports is super fun.
  • Cartoons. Some people like to say 'good cartoons ended [insert years where person was in their youth]'. Well I think that's annoying. Cartoons have been and will continue to be an excellent art form. From older things like Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo to modern cartoons like Gravity Falls and Bojack Horseman, the cartoon industry has an easier time testing boundaries in my opinion, and they have a powerful and flexible outlet for opinions, philosophies, humor, and storytelling. I love cartoons that aren't gross or overly obscene, though I can handle it if there's really amazing material. Currently, my favorites are Gravity Falls, Rick and Morty, Steven Universe, Bojack Horseman, Batman: The Animated Series, and Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist.
  • Anime and manga. Stemming from cartoons, anime is also an amazing thing, although I prefer reading the manga most of the time. Code Geass and Madoka Magica are my favorites, but I enjoyed reading Death Note (though I dislike the anime), Inuyasha, and Bleach, and I love watching My Hero Academia and (sometimes) Naruto.

Edit: Just realized the post said besides Heroes XD Oops. Other people started writing about Heroes and some said that they lost interest, so I got a little caught up.

I prefer wild guesses, so I will pretend I did not read the hint.

I am guessing HunieCam Studio.

The fact that I had to look up what that was may or may not tell you many things about me...

Besides the COUGHCOUGHHACKHURGHpokemonHACKHACKWHEEZE obvious, I also like many other Nintendo properties, including Kirby, Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, mainseries Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus Uprising... well, it may be easier to point at Smash Bros and say that if it appeared there, there's a good chance I at least played the first level of one of the series games (except Metal Gear, though that's not to say I didn't glance over from time to time).

I also like learning things, even if I forget what I learned about 5 minutes later... I forget a lot to.

Also VG music. Okay I'm done.

I've taken a shine to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, it's lovely having AC available at all times.

Besides that, I've let myself fall back into Naruto hell, ObiKaka is taking over my life, sue me. I read fanfiction, manga...watch anime...college kicks my ass four days a week...

I don't like socialising much, so I have a lot of time to myself.

My free time on the weekdays is usually spent crocheting and watching Netflix.  Those are my two main obsessions.  On the weekends, I usually have at least one social obligation to go to, which is fine.  It's weird... When I was younger, I loved going out.  Now it feels a bit like a chore, and I'd rather stay home.  Oh well, if I stayed in ALL the time, I'd probably want to go out once in a while, right?  Sometimes my best friend comes over for a sleepover.  We've been doing that since high school, and it's awesome.  :]

I'm not a big drinker.  I usually only get drunk once every month or two.  I like to host little parties once in a while, and playing hostess is something I enjoy.

Currently, I'm on a wait list for a dog-friendly building, and I'll probably get in there sometime next year.  I can't wait to get my own doggo.  That will surely be my new obsession when that happens!  I grew up with dogs, and I really miss having one around!

Sometimes I feel really bored with everything, and I get a strong craving to have a baby... That really sounds strange, doesn't it?  Don't worry, guys, that's not the only reason I want one.  I'm going to wait until I'm ~30.  My wedding will probably be around the summer of 2019, so maybe we'll try for a baby shortly after that.  ;):

I consider myself an "extroverted" introvert. People drain me, and I'm perfectly happy without them, but I've chosen a career path that kind of forces me to be social. When I tell people that I'm shy, they laugh because they're all, "You just gave a presentation in front of 100 people. You're not shy." Believe me. 90% of the time when I'm around people, I'm anxious and/or terrified. I've just gotten better at pretending. XD Don't get me started on the phone. I think it's my worst enemy.

I don't mind socializing with small groups. DnD actually energizes me for hours, but drinking parties with 30 of my co-workers makes me want to crawl into a hole and hibernate after about 30 minutes.

This is so me.  Except... I couldn't do a presentation in front of 100 people.  Also, I'm used to phones because I make a lot of phone calls at work.  It was tough at first, though.  The messages I left for people when I first started were preeeeeetty bad.  Ahaha, oh, quite cringe-worthy now that I look back...

It's kinda half-half who can tell I'm shy nowadays.  When I was younger, everyone could tell.  Now when I ask people if they can tell, they either say "yes, right away" or "no, not at all".  :XD:

I'm extremely chatty in small groups too, and large groups are meh.  I usually won't go to something that involves a large group unless I have a friend who I can cling to and follow around the whole time. :/:

As for non-game things to do I draw and crochet (aka two other things I do on the commute besides FEH). I also sew on occasion, and I attend a tailoring/sewing course once a week. Earlier this year I took a course on Calligraphy as well. Fun stuff all of it. :]

Yay, another crocheter!  I just learned how to do it almost 2 years ago now, and I'm hooked.  (Hehe, hooked, get it? ;])  I'm going nuts working on all these Christmas gifts now.  I really should have started them sooner...

In the new year, my grandmother is going to teach me how to sew!

I love having close friends over at my house and have sleep over parties too. I used to do that a lot when my mother is out of town. If we decide to drink, I sometimes rent out a motel instead and have parties there so I do not have to worry about the clean up; cleaned up puke a few times in my house, so I rather pay somebody else to do it now.

I love all animals but fuck spiders though. I thought about getting a dog at first, but then a stray kitten showed up so I now have my kitty as my first pet baby instead.

I do not think it is strange, I am pretty sure most people have strong urges to procreate at some point, although many people seem to have doubts and regrets afterwards. Who cares about the consequences? It is all about feeling good and having fun in the moment! Kidding.

EXTROVERTED INTROVERTS UNITE!

I'm the type of person who's just about always nervous, but I'm more afraid of failing than my stage fright. XD People in group projects learned real quickly how to pressure me into doing the oral presentations.

I'm also learning that specific people wipe me out too. IDK what it is, but humans are strange. It's like a specific person's aura can lift you up or leave you feeling icky for hours. I feel like it should be a super power to sense these things, but it's more like a curse.

Something else I'm trying to get back into: traveling. I used to do more of it, but I've been so tired of people lately that it saps my will to travel. XD Went on my first trip in almost a year this weekend, and it felt good. ...even though I'm exhausted from running all over Tokyo in about 24 hours. Well not ALL over Tokyo, but it certainly feels like it. RIP my ankles.

Crusader Kings is the best Paradox game, hands down, even though Hearts of Iron led me to the genre back in 2004. Europa and Victoria are amazing as well. Paradox does great games.

I know I'm late to the reply button, but yes, CK2 is great! I mean, I've never played any other game where all of the below can happen:

Spoiler

Begin as a lowly Tribal Chieftain on Ireland.

Carefully play the "marriage" game to gain a duchy then conquer the rest of the Irish duchies to form the kingdom of Ireland. Repeat for Wales and Scotland.

Pope calls for a crusade in Jerusalem > Somehow the Abbasids lose and the biggest contributor was...Ireland? (lol wat?) Hence, the Pope grants control of Jerusalem to the Kingdom of Ireland.

Byzantine Emperor converts to Judaism. Pope calls for crusade on Greece and Bulgaria. Having a buttload of Templars and levies close by in Jerusalem = the Pope grants both Greece and Bulgaria to the Kingdom of I- sorry - Empire of Ireland.

Bordergore galore. Eventually the ruling Empress of Ireland becomes immortal (at age 27) and the Karlings are crying in a corner with Defensive pacts.

Beautiful. 10/10 would cause a Karling to cry again.

After that I was hooked, though I keep playing it more in a sandbox mode than Ironman (idk seeing the sheer randomness is entertaining enough to me) and I've only scratched the surface on Jade Dragon. Incidentally, the new expansion features means I'm itching even more on eventually modding CK2 (I'm currently going through the ropes of making a simple multi-choice event for practice). Oh yes. I have nefarious modding plans for CK2

That said, I proabably ought to try out at least EU and Victoria at some point as well when I have more time and money on my hands.

Oh the bolded...it's like looking into a mirror, a small group with familiar faces? Fine perfectly fine! I'll ramble their ears off. Big groups? Ehh...plz no. I get drained so quickly and get anxious fast. Ah, such is the life of an introvert.

It's indeed easy to get "hooked" on crocheting. :3

I ended up being "hooked in" by my grandma when I was 11, then I had a long break from the craft, but I re-learned  what I knew six years ago (when I was 21), since then I've kept at it and I keep learning as I go.

Now that's a familiar feeling. ;)
Between amigurumis, doilies, to bags, one thing is certain: it always takes longer to finish a project than one anticipates. XD

Sewing is great fun too, patience demanding, but great fun. :3
Last year I finally saved up to get a new sewing machine to accompany an old inherited one from the 60's. Pretty much had to upgrade to something newer since working with modern elastic fabrics/thin fabric is difficult for a machine that wasn't built for it (fabric weaving has come a long way since the 60's) - still, the old one is impeccable with denim and stronger fabrics so I keep using it for "sturdier"work. :]

@Tactician_Iris: I actually got introduced to CK via the legendary Knud Knýtling AAR on Paradox Plaza. It felt awesome, and I absolutely wanted to play this game. No regrets ever since.

I even got into the alpha and beta testing of CK2 later on. It was amazing to contribute on such scale. Unfortunately, I forgot to check in when they collected the names of the testers, so mine isn’t in the credits.

My name is in the credits of HoI4 though!

I always play CK2 as a custom character. It feels the most fitting to shape history with a character of your own.

Hmm, I have far too many hobbies, I watch a bit of anime, play other games (of which I have far too many I need to get around to after I finish the Witcher), I lurk here and I will be getting my friends together so we can try to play D&D because they want to try playing and I really want to be a DM

Oh that one: "Like all problems we send them to church" That's a legend all of it's own right there. XD

I technically first played CK2 via my brother's copy so for the longest time I actually couldn't access the modding forums.
(Thank you Black Friday Sale you finally rectified this)

Wait...come to think of it, I actually played the predecessor to both EU and CK - Svea Rike, a game released in 1997 in Swedish only. Huh I didn't realise Target games became Paradox. Like whoah, revelation of the day right there. My father would binge play it on our old Windows 95 trying to break his high score (he still plays it even). Wow...it sure brings back memories typing that. I still have a working copy of it even.

It's cool to be part of something bigger and contribute, an old username of mine is still attached to a rather large mod I contributed to some years ago., it's a funny sense of nostalgia to see it these days.

I agree it's really fun to see just how far one can make it with one's own character/dynasty, switching up some of the gamerules for sheer random hilarity never gets old.
I mean, from the RNG blessed Irish Empire, to the Cult of Loki worshipping Norsewoman, to restoring Zoroastrianism or Judaism, the possibilities sure are endless. XD

Aw. Rex is so fluffy! I just want to bury my face in all that fur.

I like to bury my face into my cats belly. The soft fur feels great. Maybe it is just me (or a lack of oxygen), but when I sniff my cat a lot or breath through her fur, I get a mild, pleasant high.

Thinking about getting a revolver or Uzi soon to have something fun to do on my days off.  I'm also looking to get another bike; might get an Italian sportsbike or a cruiser.  I'm a tall guy so I'm leaning towards cruisers.  Honda Shadows are pretty cheap.  I also am working on cutting down body fat to about 10-12% range, which mainly consists of not eating.

Another plan is to binge-watch all the movies Ryan Gosling is in after the stunning perfection of Blade Runner 2049.

But you will miss out on all that delicious food! Christmas is coming up, so I will eat my brains out. I cannot ignore those honey glazed ham and roast turkey, not to mention the stuffing and gravy mashed potatoes with cheese and bacon bits in it.

My plan on feast days is to eat a sweet potato around 11 or so, then just have coffee and cigarettes until dinner.  Yes, I live like this.  But I will not limit myself from soup season!  I will be making clam chowdah and minestrone quite freqnently.  Another plan is to borrow my bro's Switch that I'm getting him to play Shantae Half-Genie Hero; I hardly ever eat while gaming.

Just one? That is impressive. I would probably starve.

I love soups! Although every soup I make usually turns out to be more chunky like stews than a thin liquid; I usually overestimate the amount of meat required.
