Transforming units?

I want another wolf (ala Tellius not whatever Fates did) and dragon tribe + them learning how to use a secondary weapon upon promotion. I understand why they don't want to use human weapons but I feel like it limits what they can do since they only have one path they can go down. Well unless the game allows you to re-class them to a class that can use weapons at which point I don't understand why they can't just give it to them normally.

Transformation's a fun mechanic, though I think I'd want it to be a class thing, not a racial thing.

GBA Druids in FE are just Dark Mages, but the D&D interpretation of them is that they're shapeshifting specialists; you could have a completely human population, but then have a 'Druid' classline available that used Staffs and Stones, and each Stone carried a different animal's power in it (the Stones could even be ranked up gradually just like the other weapon types, like the Wolf Stone might be an 'Iron' equivalent and the Bear Stone might be a 'Silver' one, etc.).

Shapeshifting being a racial property, on the other hand, has been overdone; I think Laguz wouldn't be too bad, but I am ABSOLUTELY SICK of special-snowflake Manaketes, I'd be happy to never see them again (wishful thinking, there).
