L'Arachel, Princess of Light

She is basically Ursula with better stat distribution, trading Defense for more Attack. Ivaldi's stat boost is Def +3, which may help her survive a counter from a Distant Counter melee unit.

Similar to Eirika, I would not replace Ivaldi for Blárblade as Ivaldi is pretty good.

Level 40 stats:
HP: 30/33/36
Atk: 30/33/36
Spd: 28/31/34
Def: 13/17/20
Res: 28/31/34
Total: 144-145

Default skills:
Weapon: Ivaldi
Assist: [none]
Special: Growing Light
Passive A: [none]
Passive B: Renewal
Passive C: Res Tactic 3

Ivaldi/Blárblade:
Arena offense, Arena Assault

Spoiler

Nature [+Atk/Spd, -HP/Def/Res]

Ivaldi / Blárblade+
Reposition / [flexible Assist]
Moonbow / Glimmer
Swift Sparrow 2 / Brazen Atk/Spd 3 / Fury 3
Desperation 3
Hone Cavalry / Fortify Cavalry / Savage Blow 3 / [flexible C passive]
Attack +3 / Resistance +3 / Heavy Blade 3 / Savage Blow 3 / [flexible Sacred Seal]

L'Arachel, unlike Eirika, does not come prebuilt, so some additional assembly is required.

Blárblade+: I personally do not recommend it since her default tome is just fine. Blárblade does give her a bit better performance though, at the slight expense of 3 Speed against full HP enemies.

Fury 3: Fury is useful if you decide to run Ploys.

Savage Blow 3 — Savage Blow 3: This allows her to take down groups of enemies faster in Tempest Trials.

Budget:

Death Blow 3: She will be dependent on her allies for Speed boosts. Swift Sparrow and Fury allows her to activate Desperation more reliably and doubling is more important for increasing damage output.

Keen Blárwolf — Desperation — Brash Assault:
Arena offense

Spoiler

Nature [+Atk/Spd, -HP/Def/Res]

Keen Blárwolf+ [Special Refinement] / Keen Blárwolf+ [Speed Refinement]
[flexible Assist]
Moonbow / [flexible Special]
Fury 3 / Brazen Atk/Spd 3 / Life and Death 3
Desperation 3
Hone Cavalry / Fortify Cavalry / [flexible C passive]
Brash Assault 3 / [flexible Sacred Seal]

This Player Phase set allows L'Arachel to specialize against common cavalry enemies in Arena. If you need an anti-cavalry specialist instead of a high coverage nuke, you may want to consider this build.

Desperation 3 — Brash Assault 3: Once she manages to get under 50% HP, she will annihilate any cavalry enemy unless it is green and runs Triangle Adept.

Keen Blárwolf — Deflect Magic:
Arena Assault

Spoiler

Nature [+Atk/Spd, -Def]

Keen Blárwolf+ [Special Refinement]
Reposition / Swap / [flexible Assist]
Moonbow / Glimmer
Triangle Adept 3 / Distant Def 3 / Warding Stance 3
Quick Riposte 3 / Guard 3
[flexible C passive]
Deflect Magic 3

L"Arachel can double as both a red mage tank and a Reinhardt tank, although she is might not be able to do both in the same battle without support.

Blárblade — Close Counter — Vantage:
Arena Assault

Spoiler

Nature [+Atk, -HP/Def/Res]

Blárblade+
Reposition / Swap
Glimmer / Moonbow
Close Counter
Vantage 3
Hone Cavalry / Fortify Cavalry / Savage Blow / [flexible C passive]
Attack +3 / Savage Blow / Heavy Blade 3 / Quickened Pulse

This is your standard Blade-Close Counter-Vantage meme.

I run an Super Nuke Ivaldi build of L'Arachel. It's no Brazen ATK/SPD; but I just went with it since it's easier to get.

With an +ATK boon, Death Blow 3, Cavalry shenanigans (Hone+Goad), a maxed-out Attack seal and Ivaldi's bonuses kicking in, she can hit a whopping 72 ATK.

I will add Death Blow as a budget option.

How viable is +Def/-HP?  With Ivaldi and Def tactic, or Fortify cavalry buffs she would have 29 def.  Put on distant defense and she can have 35 def, and of course you can go distant defense seal to make it 41 def.  It is possible to get her speed high enough with hone cavalry buffs to not get doubled by many enemies and with QR3 she can double back.

I ask this cause I have her at 4 star with these IV, and am considering promoting her to 5 star.  However if this defense dream is just that, and would be too hard to make efficient, I'd just wait for +Spd or +atk pull in the future.

You can use her to tank Moonbow-Quickened Pulse Brave archers with that set up but she is a bit too dependent on buffs. I rather use Raven mages since they are cheaper to build, do not need a Sacred Seal to do their job, and do not need buffs either.

If you've pulled +Res, she can also work as a ploy bot (assuming Fury in the A slot).  Not sure if it's worth giving up horse buffs for, but I run it, and it's pretty funny.

Even without the +Res nature and Fury, 31 Res is plenty good enough to run Ploys that hit the things that matter.

I get what you mean when you compare her to Ursale, but her stat distribution is more akin to Mae's. Just more atk because of infantry BST

Thanks for the response!  I did end up upgrading her to 5 star, just cause I don't have anyone else with Res tactic.  I won't invest into her heavily (5 star skills, etc) but will keep her for now.  I'll probably throw darting blow, which along with hone speed from Eirika plus her tome will get her to 44spd.  With hone attack plus her tome she will hit at 54 atk, if in range of Groom marth 57atk, 47spd (drive spd 2 seal)  Def tactic on Eirika (or maybe Nino) will give her 29 def, while Eirika or Nino giving drive defense could get her to 32 if in range.  Moonbow probably.

I will put that down.

Whether it is worth it depends on the team composition. While I give pony buffs to all my ponies, I do not use them half the time in Arena Assault since they are not always going to have pony teammates. My ranged ponies all have Hone Cavalry on permanently since I set them up as teams already, however, most of my melee ponies have tier 2 buffs instead of pony buffs since I use them more as counters rather than as part of a permanent team.
