Eh? We don't know this.

I think they stated in an recent interview that he was. https://nintendoeverything.com/fire-emblem-warriors-director-on-the-shadow-dragon-pack-characters-wedding-costumes-more/

"Navarre is getting in to fill the Mercenary slot. There was a debate on whether to pick him or Ogma, but we wanted to have that scene from Devil Mountain in History Mode, and that’s a big factor. It’s not an over-exaggeration to say that we thought of History Mode just for that. In Fire Emblem Warriors’ design document it was written as a mode where we have the following conversation: “Lend your sword to our cause. Or, if you will not, then turn it on me now instead.” “…Nay, I’ll turn no blade of mine on a woman.” (laughs)"

It was also the same interview that Linde's greatest feature is her feet.  lol

That does not say Navarre was going to be playable in the main game, or that Lyn "replaced" him even if he was. There are multiple different ways this could have gone.

But it doesn't mean that something doesn't feel off, when you read this and think Lyn was probably added later in development.

Though we don't know for sure how development went except for these small interviews. Which haven't really been that helpful besides making people upset and mad.

You also need to consider that they almost certainly knew they would be doing DLC from the very beginning. I don't mean to say I think they outright planned Navarre as DLC, but they could have planned more stuff than they knew they could realistically implement in the main game, and the lower priority stuff got pushed back as DLC. Something like that, anyway. We also don't know when Lyn was added, only that she was requested by Nintendo, but they also requested Lucina and Lucina clearly wasn't added late considering her story role.

People jump to conclusions a lot. When they want to believe something, they seek out evidence that supports it. There are a lot of claims people have made that don't have conclusive evidence.

Well Koei does love DLC, but yes, they most certainly did know they would be doing DLC. Which some does feel like things they wanted to implant, but couldn't at the time of the games initial release. Well true, we don't know when Lyn was added and interviews are exactly telling of the whole development of the game.

Oh I know. I go to Gamefaqs, honestly, while this place is tamer then that FEW forums over there, at least it's calmer and people don't jump on board right away on things.

Then go back to when Nintendo told them to add Lyn after they already had a plan, and that meant designing an entire history map for her and Celica while Navarre was in the story mode

By the way, here are some new English screenshots (as far as I know).

FE_Warriors_DLC3_26.jpg

The Divine Caliber attribute is just "Legendary".

FE_Warriors_DLC3_23.jpg

I think Master Blessing was Smithy Blessing? Infernal and Common-Materials Blessing are the same. Strategist's Blessing is Tactician's Blessing.

FE_Warriors_DLC3_08.jpg

Here's a bonus for @shadowofchaos

I may post more later. In a slight rush.

Honestly I hate when weapons are named “blanks weapon”

The Fates one are actual weapons in game (E.g. Camilla's Axe, Hinoka's Spear, Anna's Bow, Iago's Tome) are all weapons in Fates. Though I'm hoping that the Awakening characters aren't 'Name's weapon' since they don't have the excuse since they don't exist in Awakening.

Yes! :D

Olivia and Azura get a support.

Also Olivia pose there looks so adorable! <3 I wonder if it's here normal portrait or her disappointed one. Because I kinda wanted to have a pose like that for her normal portrait.

They are, at least in the Japanese version.

Robin: Thoron
Liz: Liz's Healing Axe
Frederick: Frederick's Guardian Axe
Tiamo: Tiamo's Love Spear
Owain: Mystletainn
Tharja: Tharja's Curse
Olivia: Olivia's Dancing Sword

Out of the new weapons, only Robin's and Owain's seem to be weapons from the games.

Also, thanks @VincentASM! Just wondering, where did you find those images? Didn't see them in the DLC section of the US site. Are they on the European one?

In Japanese Warriors, at least, the names are all <Name> <Descriptor> <Weapon>

So Camill'a is something like...Camilla's Alluring Axe. Niles' Cruel Bow. Who knows why they didn't just take off the name but leave the descriptor. Especially since the english datamine had Armored & Healing Axe for the 2 weaposn that will probably become "Frederick's Axe" and "Lissa's Axe"

Also very cool to see Azura & Olivia get a support. I know some people were thinking Niles would be the only cross-dlc supporter due to his being in the base game or something.

@MrPerson0

They are from NOE, yeah.

You can find the new English screenshots here. Here's a sample.

FEW_DLC_003.jpg

Also, new names.

  • Tharja’s Hex: (Unchanged)
  • Olivia’s Dance Sword: Olivia’s Blade
  • Boost Sword (provides the Attack/Boost+ attribute): Bolster Sword
  • Infernal Blessing: (Unchanged)
  • Common-Materials Blessing: (Unchanged)
  • Smithy Blessing: Master Blessing(?)
  • Strategist’s Blessing: Tactician Blessing (same thing)
  • Divine Caliber (makes all weapons as strong as Hero weapons): Legendary

Thanks! Looks like "Tharja's Liver-and-Eel Pie" is her gold material...wtf. Why the food she made for Robin.

Also, "Escort the Villagers" seems to be a new mode? Just to make sure, that isn't the European name for "Villager Rescue", is it?

Hmm, that's interesting. The Level Reset feature also costs gold. one million gold to reset a level 130 Rowan...but it doesn't say how much you get in return. It better be really good to offset the literal cost and hte opportunity cost

Because obviously she's sharing it around the camp now.
But I like it, I was wondering what it was since the icon looked weird when I looked at the screenshot in Japanese. It's rather unique. lol

That amount is ridiculous. Even them giving you 100 silver and gold (each) character mats would not make it worth it. Hope I am wrong.

Yeah it's new. Villager Rescue was Villager Rescue in the EU version as well.

Uhhh no that would absolutely make it worth it. I need 82 Xander silvers and I am more than willing to sacrifice the needed gold so I do not have to play chapter 20 another 41 times.

100 silvers...that'd cover like everyone! I know you're exaggerating but giving 100 silvers AND golds would be a crazy good deal! That's 200 defeats of a character minimum!

My big worry is that it's a real paltry sum. Like a level 130 character only gives 13 golds. That's 13 less times to beat someone I guess but it'd be awful even with how easily money comes in. If it was 13 golds AND 13 silvers...maybe a little better. 26 golds & silvers we can start talking.

Guess that is true. With the level 104 Pincer Escape, you can easily grind around 4 million gold in an hour, so I guess you can quickly go back to 99, then do the remaining grind manually.

With the latter amount, that definitely wound not be worth it.

I don't think Warriors scales them up/down any, but in this case specifically they look about the same height, Olivia's pony tail is  throwing things off
