The next time I play that battle, I'll wait until all the villagers turn into enemies. I think that's the only way to S-rank that crap. I was mostly joking. But you still have to wait at the beginning lest you get ambushed by that Sniper. Just now, Levant Mir Celestia said: What mission got you riled up? The one with the Shiida icon on Owain's history mode map. I can't seem to get an S-rank or one of Anna's Gifts on it. I've tried several times now, but my kill counter was too low (I usually get around 850 kills with a 1500-something total when I beat it) or a Sniper just took over my base in the first few seconds, thanks to the base commander being a Pegasus Knight. Best to leave someone behind. I think I had Lissa (and whoever her teammate was) and even then I had some close calls I believe.

I thought of that, too, but when the situation gets really hairy, the A.I. usually does a terrible job at doing pretty much anything, so I'd rather do it myself in the end. Sadly, the message system also lags so by the time I get the notice that the base is in any kind of danger, it's usually too late and the battle is lost. Whatever weapon scroll is locked behind getting all S-ranks on Owain's history mode map will stay locked to me, I believe. Because as of now, I don't see any way of getting an S-rank in that battle. It's even more frustrating to me, because I don't even know what I did wrong. I tried to give my partners specific orders: kill counter too low. I tried to let them do their thing: kill counter too low. I try to do everything myself: base gets captured in mere moments. And it isn't like I tried with just one team. I once tried leaving all bow units out since most of the enemy captains are fliers, I tried using someone with great A.O.E. like Chrom, Lianna or Shiida, but nothing really worked. Two, what new mission types do we got? Since nobody answered this question... "Escape" is a standard full-size mission. Several enemy keeps are locked and guarded by Gatekeepers, and some allied captains are trapped inside these keeps but you don't know which keeps they are. Opening up the right keep will rescue the ally, opening the wrong one will spring a trap and cause a red-aura'd shadow enemy to spawn. You can figure out which keeps are correct by hunting down enemy captains on the map. Once an allied captain has been rescued, they will attempt to advance to a designated escape zone, during which time they'll be harassed by some enemies including an ambush waiting at the escape zone itself. So you've got to rescue your allies from the keeps and then escort them to the dropoff point, and once you do that the enemy base opens as usual. "Escort the Villagers" is a small challenge-type mission. There are a few unarmed villagers on the map and they'll be harassed by infinitely-spawning enemies. You've got to keep all of them alive until time runs out, but it's often complicated by there being more villagers than you have playable units (meaning you have to juggle your attention) or the appearance of Rally Captains and lightning-strike Mages far away from the main action (meaning you need to wait for an opportunity to leave the villagers unattended while you handle an external threat). If any villager dies, you lose, so healing staves are recommended.

Prepare accordingly. EDIT: @Jedi You only get two characters for Escort the Villagers, so max two characters with healing. Then again, it's pretty hard to tell and the cheap bastards always use their standard outfits on the victory screen, so why even have different outfits at all? I'm going to guess you play the 3DS version, because the Switch version shows their equipped costume and weapon in the victory animation. Unless you're referring to the portaits on the results screen, and not the victory animation.

Considering all the different things I wouldn't be surprised if Robin & Corrin's alts are internally considered different characters,so they just swap out the file. Also guessing that the end videos are in-engine in switch but premade in 3DS. Or, if not in-engine, something akin to that. You see that in different games, the higher quality stuff ignores outfits or weapons vs the ones that dont. iirc Hyrule Warriors Legends was the same way
