Looks like I'm doing two sections on the same character!

Skills:
Wind Mage LV1: Spd+2
Wind Mage LV10: Breath of life ~ After combat, allies within 2 spaces are healed for 7HP.

Airmaster LV5: Vortex deflection ~ Grants Avoid+40 during combat if foe is not adjacent to unit.
Airmaster LV15: Galeforce ~ If unit initiates combat and defeats an enemy, unit may move again. Once per turn.

Special: Blowdown ~ After combat, if foe is adjacent to unit and foe has at least 1 movement, foe moves back one space. If foe cannot move into new tile, foe instantly dies.

Support outline:

With Kai (the Est archetype): Kai is interested in the birds surrounding Connor, and tries to play with them. Connor teaches Kai the legendary animal taming technique: bribe with food. This support at level A gives Kai 5HP of healing at the start of each turn and hit+10 if within 2 spaces of Connor; and gives Connor -5 to all of his RNG rolls (increasing hit, crit and growths) when within 2 spaces of Kai.

With the Lord: Connor talks to the Lord about his forest, and how it may regrow some day. The Lord commits to rebuilding the forest under their protection once the war ends. At level A, it gives the Lord damage taken -3 when within 2 spaces of Connor, and Connor gains avoid +25 when within 2 spaces of the Lord.

With Tara: Connor is initially angry at Tara for her involvement in the burning of his forest, but eventually relents when realising what she had to go through. They eventually bond over the struggles of having to abandon an old life for war. At level A, they each gain damage dealt +3 when within 2 spaces of the other.

With the Jaigen archetype: Jaigen is very interested in Connor, as he was the source of a legend from the previous decade. Jaigen and Connor talk about the first time Connor hadtruly been able to harness nature and concentrate it around him. At level A, Jaigen gains hit/avoid+15 when within 2 spaces of Connor, and Connor gains damage taken -3 when within 2 spaces of Jaigen.

Events:

Gaiden chapter ~ A flame extinguished. Unlocked if Tana is recruited and the boss who burned down Connor's forest is defeated in under 15 turns. Connor finally finds the dastard that destroyed his peaceful forest, and must now make sure that this evil man can never harm life again. The chapter takes place in a landscape full of forest and plains, with a fire in the corner of the map. The fire will spread across the map, dealing heavy damage to all non-flying units in its path. The spread of the flame is 2 tiles per turn unless slowed down by wind magic or sped up by fire magic. After defeating the boss, Connor picks up the talisman from the boss, and uses the power within to learn the skill Blowdown.

Boss conversations:
VS the boss who burned down his forest: "You have gone far enough in your quest to destroy the very nature your people swear to protect. I will defeat you here, for the good of all life!"

VS that same boss in the gaiden chapter: "This world will suffer you no longer. Begone."

VS Tara (if she isn't recruited by Kai): "Your eternal flames have destroyed far too much for this world to bear. Your conquest of evil cannot continue here!"
Tara: "You misunderstand. I am merely carrying out the orders of the Church."
Connor: "Then the Church is lost. I have no God, I just do the right thing for those I care about."
Tara: "..." (Doing the right thing without a God to guide you? If only.)

Final boss start quote: "There is plenty of good in this world. No matter the damage, the legacy of life will rise up eternal. But to do that, we must stop falling, and that means ending the thing that's pushing us down!"

Death quote: "And so I wither. Please, live on..."

Class: Branded (Axe/Infantry) -> Revenant (Axe+Beaststone/Infantry) or Berserker (Axe/Infantry)

When recruited, he is skinny and covered in rags. Has a lot of black body hair. He has a beast's brand on his left arm.

Caliban's growths defy some of the expectations of the berserker, being that he's not particularly strong or bulked up in HP. However, as a result of being compromised in these he is defensively impressive, taking magical and physical attacks surprisingly well, while he also has more finesse than would be expected of the barbaric ilk that he would be compared to.

Caliban's background is something that he has forgotten, having been offered up years ago by the villainous cult of the game and turned into a Accursed which also caused him to lose his ability to transform. When he's first confronted on the battlefield, only one or two people are able to speak to him. Even when he is spoken to, he runs away from the battlefield, unable to process what he's told. He's next confronted on a windy peak, where he's found starving and near death. The kindness shown by the lord's party allows him to survive and open up, where he confesses that the past few years have been him charging through rebellions to put them down and understands if they wanted him dead. By this point however at least one person in the army knows what was done to Caliban and vouches for him, eventually convincing them to let him live and possibly join the party. Caliban is not the most articulate person, something that causes him frustration with others as he is often unclear with others as a result and causes him to be somewhat distant from the party. However, he is attentive, shown by how he often points out details that others have missed and in how he treats others in pain carefully and a creative individual, trying to work on art pieces to unwind outside of battle, usually depicting something he seems to barely remember in his mind as he tries to explain to those who ask about them.

Might as well do this then.

Skills:

Branded: Lvl 1: Skill +2, Lvl 10: Strong Riposte

Revenant: Lvl 5: Malicious Mien (While wielding a Beaststone, enemies get -2 damage and -15 hit and avoid in combat), Lvl 15: Bestial Carnage (%Skl/2 chance of hitting three times with defence reduction)

Berserker: Lvl 5: Wrath, Lvl 15: Axefaire

Personal: Bestial Knowledge (takes 2/3s damage from beast units and gains +3 damage against them)

Supports:

Kai: Kai first talks to Caliban, certain that they're similar with Caliabn's ability to use stones being similar to his own best transformation. Caliban responds with confusion as he doesn't remember this, shouting at Kai when he keeps up with the questions until he runs. Before long however, he apologises to Kai for this and explains that he has forgotten who he was. Kai responds in horror and is about to call out humans, but then Caliban says that in this army he's found others he can understand, including Kai. For their A Rank, Caliban asks Kai about his village and as he goes on about the place Caliban eventually asks how someone like him would be received. He then asks to take a look at Caliban's drawings, which leads to him suggesting showing them to his tribe as some of the symbols are a bit familiar to him.

Petrichor: Petrichor breaks one of Caliban's easels after a late evening of carousing, leading Caliban to chew him out the morning after. This causes Petrichor to laugh in response because Caliban is a much shorter manbeast than himself causing him to laugh and apologise to Caliban. On the next support, Petrichor learns about what Caliban was drawing and finds it interesting but can't really tell what it means. He finishes by asking if Caliban could draw his wyvern. Caliban agrees and their A support is Patrichor and Caliban talking while the wyvern's being painted and how Caliban's going to live after the war. Petrichor suggests going to where he's from and offering to be a guard for wyverns as Caliban seems to be trusted by his wyvern. Caliban doesn't respond in that moment.

Kiki: Kiki and Caliban start by arguing after they had ran into each other. The conversation degrades in to insults, shouting and jokes that I think I won't be able to write because I've written too much already. After some time, Caliban comes to Kiki, who is sparring. She tells him that the best way for him to apologise is a sparring session with her which he accepts but not before she riles him up playfully. In their A support Kiki thanks Caliban for the help he gave with the bruises she'd gotten in the sparring match, especially after she'd dived onto a fence after missing him. She declares that they should be sparring partners in future, but after he says something that unintentionally slights her he hits him in the arm, knocking him off the chair he was on.

Aria: Caliban thanks Aria for helping save him from certain death and starts to ask her why she helped an Accursed. Aria brushes it off and acts like it was no big deal, leaving Caliban to stew on her words which suggested she knew about what had been done to him. The next time, Caliban asks quite bluntly about it, wanting an answer from her with threats to her. She then proceeds to admit that she had learned about the cult's treatment of beastkind from her father, who had learned of such acts and had tried to force reformation of laws to protect them, hence the assault on her home. Caliban then apologises for his actions towards her, which she accepts but admits she needs some distance after this altercation. In their A support Caliban apologises again, accepting that she would have all right to not look at him again. She surprises him by giving a hug and saying she does get why he was angry before reverting to her usual self. Caliban then gives her a small shell as a gift to her, thanks her for everything and promises to be an ally from then on, which she accepts. This shell is also a reward from the support, granting +3 to Res when in inventory.

Events:

As an enemy he holds a Silver Axe and Dracoshield, neither of which he has when he gets his recruitment event. He also drops the Dracoshield as an enemy.

The next chapter after his recruitment, he finds a small item if he got to a certain grove and searches it. It turns out to be a bestial mark, which he and possible one or two others can use to promote to a class with Beaststone usage.

If he becomes a Revenant he's allowed to speak to a beast tribe leader in the late game who gives him some information for his past and a special Beaststone (Hardened Rune, which gives +7 Str, +4 Skl, -2 Spd, +9 Def and +8 Res on top of its good combat stats. Might need rebalancing.)

If he becomes a Berserker, he speaks with the leader of a band of brigands who asked for a peace and causes them to side with the player in a later map while also getting a pair of Boots.

Vs. Golvanass (like Izuka, but more cleancut and involved in the death cult):

C: "You.... You're the man who had me tied and cut up."

G: "... I'm sorry, but you are?"

"You- You're the man that made me into this!"

"Ah. You're all so alike to me that it slipped me mind. After working with so many Accursed before, you all blend together in my mind. You are a fine specimen though. Here boy, you've grown well, but now we need to go remove this lot of vermin."

"So, you won't apologise. You can die now. For the Gralfang!"

"Wait, wait, heel Accursed!"

This.... was a bit much.

Class: Dark Mage -> Sorceror/Dark Knight.

Dionysus wears wine-purple robes with green trim, and he has a touch of a plant motif-his hair is green, and he has a vine tattoo on his neck. His eyes are purple and his skin is dark-like Hawkeye or Igrene.

Dionysus isn’t the most typical dark mage. He’s going to to get a lot of skill growths to counteract that bad hit rate on dark tomes, but he isn’t going to get a lot of con, so he’ll hit reliably, but won’t be doubling a lot of things. He’s a total tank at with high bases in def and res, and high growths in res, but with low growths in def and hp, he’ll quickly become just a res tank, not a def tank. So maybe he is a typical dark mage. Frankly, I don’t use dark mages all that often, so I don’t know what’s normal for that class.

As for his background, he and Conner know one another. Dionysus is a nature person, but unlike Conner, he’s pretty worldly. One gets the sense that he enjoys nature for the pleasures it can produce (wine is, of course, his favorite product of nature), and Dionysus likes to be around people, but only if he can dominate the conversation. He enjoys bragging and partying, he has a cynical sense of humor, and a serious drinking problem. Conner doesn’t like him all that much, thinks that he exploits nature for his own gain, and Dionysus flippantly joins your army under the pretense of proving Conner wrong, to somehow convert Conner to Dionysus’ own life philosophy.

Yet underneath that nonchalant exterior, there’s a seriousness and great age that sometimes leaks through, despite his young appearance. At very serious times he even appears sober, and a hidden steel glints in the look of his eyes or the set of his shoulders. Perhaps he joined your army for reason other than to pester Conner....

Dionysus has the personal skill Hedonistic Trance. When afflicted with the Berserk status, Dionysus receives significant boosts to his stats. Consuming an alcoholic item instantly gives Dionysus the Berserk status.

***

Here is an outline of some of his supports:

  • Ajax: The two bond over a mutual interest in what Dionysus calls "the old gods."
  • Jago: Now, Dionysus appreciates all manner of hedonism, and so tries flirting with the valkyrie until she indicates that she holds herself as superior to him- this puts him in a real huff. He spends the rest of their support revealing bits of his ancient knowledge in an attempt to demonstrate his perceived superiority. This eventually has him learn Jago's backstory, which I don't fully understand, but Dionysus has some background knowledge such that he can.
  • Kiki: The two hit it off well. Neither has the capacity to form a serious relationship but circumstances inevitably tie them together.
  • Jason: A former hedonist himself, Jason attempts to warn Dionysus to be a bit more restrained, but is confused by how Dionysus seems to know everything Jason it trying to tell him and also not care. By their A support, Jason uses himself as an example which forces Dionysus to consider the point a little bit more.
  • Connor: As mentioned, these two try to convince each other of their own life philosophies, doomed to failure but ever persistent. This is also a lore dump conversation where we find out that "Connor" and Dionysus are Dryads, mythological nature spirits from the old religion who live, die, and are reborn by growing from the ground as plants do. This effectively makes them members of a long-forgotten pantheon, if minor ones. In their dialogue, it is explained why Connor has adopted a new (more or less) human identity while Dionysus purposefully implies to others his supernatural nature.

He will also probably support one of his fellow dark mages, where they will discuss darkness and truth and the validity of using drugs to write better music. He may even support the manaketes and talk about the old, mythical age.

***

Dionysus is one of several characters who must be kept alive in order to unlock plot-important gaidens, a list which also includes Connor. The full list must be kept alive to unlock the last gaiden chapter and the true ending.

Dionysus is recruited after "A Flame Extinguished," Connor's gaiden chapter, and has his own gaiden chapter, "Ancient Mysteries." Dionysus reveals the location of ancient ruins nearby, where a plot important item can be used to temporarily restore the ruins to their former glory, at the cost of also reviving their monster guardians. Defeating them all allows Dionysus to lead the group deeper into the ruins to obtain one of the game's many ancient talismans. This talisman grants all your Dryads the Vine Vein skill, which allows them to activate certain map modifications. As the party leaves, they take the item with them, and the ruins become ruined again.

***

You know, I was initially opposed to the changes to this thread but now we have this elaborate lore forming so I'm okay with it.

Armour Knight: Sword (Can promote to General or Great Knight, also has access to Master Knight as "third tier").

Esther's armour is a functional steel plate, with the only flair in colour being the red and purple markings that indicate her lineage. Her appearance is fair, with her light skin and hair contrasting with her brown eyes. She is considered plain by some but she's often seen smiling with others, more because she's not the kind of person to worry about other's problems. The scars she mainly has are on her hands from sparring and careless minor cuts, rather than scars from large scale battles.

Among the first units you recruit, Esther has a very high luck growth to help her dodge brigand axes and avoid crits. Similar to Garcia, she has a good speed base but a bad speed growth, so she doubles early on but quickly loses this ability. Strong in HP and defense, with decent skill, strength and resistance.

Esther's peaceful and agreeable demeanor is used to dispense small insults and make sharp criticisms. She comes from a very poor household, but enlisted as a squire to the lord's family. Having been looked down on as a dirty peasant most her life, Esther has rejected the idea that class made someone better than her, and eventually that anyone was better that her, subtly tearing down everything in her vicinity with her moderate wit. She is a hard worker and isn't afraid to get dirty, though she can be a bit self righteous about this. Her remarks often include mocking people's aversion to grit or struggle. Though bitter, Esther carries herself very professionally, and her passing comments are often short enough for most to tolerate them.

Is is no way a monster, ancient spirit, artificial creation, secret royal, or anything other than a strong independent peasant woman in a suit of armor.

When Esther was a young girl, she was afflicted with an illness that none were able to find a cure for in their local village.  On a trading trip however, her father one day discovered of a cure that could save her from a distant city but discovered that it would cost more than he could ever afford with all his wealth.  Initially her father was resigned to what fate was about to befall his daughter, but was approached by a smalltime bandit guild known as the Flash of the Stag.

Though he regretted getting himself involved into the business, Esther's father agreed to play a part in a high risk-high reward job that would give him a 10% cut of the wealth.  The mission was a success and managed to give Esther's father the money he needed in order to pay for the cure to his daughter's sickness.  When Esther's father returned home, he and his wife were overjoyed with the fact that their daughter would indeed have her life in front of her once again.  Fate determined that her father would pay for his actions however.

Esther's father was one day sold out to the local authorities, Nyroc being among them to arrest him for his crime.  As a young girl, Esther believed that her father was wronged but had no way to prove that it was true, only holding on to the belief that a man as good as her father would never commit a crime so heinous.  For all that she was unable to do at the time, she was left only to live with her mother as they lost what little they had and were forced to live on the streets for the rest of her days.

It wasn't until Esther enlisted as a squire that she was able to support her mother while she herself still tries to provide what little support for her only daughter she can muster.  She has lived a better life than most, but is only fortunate that she has been given the privilege to serve with her current lord even if it means only scraping by on the least amount she could manager to earn.

Skills:
Knight: Lvl 1: Defense +2, Lvl 10: Indoor Fighter
General: Lvl 5: Rally Defense, Lvl 15: Pavise
Great Knight: Lvl 5: Luna, Lvl 15: Armored Blow
Personal: Successful Taunt (Every encounter with a target results in a 10% chance of the target suffering a -4 Defense and a +15 point increase for Esther's Critical Hit rate.)

General gist of Supports:
  • Ajax: When Esther first meets him, she begins by teasing him about his position and his lack of physical capabilities.  She is amused at first when she sees how easily agitated he gets and decides to continue having further conversations with him because of this.  Over time however she begins to learn how serious his situation is and see how truly dedicated he is to his cause.  In the final conversation, the two determine that they are to stand together as fellow soldiers while Esther gives Ajax the honor of calling him a fellow brother in arms.
  • Nyroc:  When Esther meets Nyroc in the battlefield again after recruiting him, she recognizes him as one of the knights who arrested her father when she was a child.  Esther is hostile towards Nyroc when they continue to speak with one another before Nyroc reveals how key her father was in the stealing of a valuable royal property many years ago.  In the final conversation, Esther asks for Nyroc to forgive her for accusing him of doing something that robbed her of her life and Nyroc, in a rare instance of exiting his surly character, offers Esther some assurance that she can live her life knowing that she does not do with her past weighing her down.
  • Karen: From the rumors of hearing Karen as the daughter of a minor noble, she has difficulty in accepting her as part of the army.  Over time however they learn that they are both capable fighters who can compliment one another.  In the final conversation, Esther is pleased to learn that not all nobles are willing to let the common soldier do the hard work.  This final conversation offers the beginning of a great friendship.
  • Louis: In a series of sparing sessions, Esther offers a few sarcastic jabs towards him.  Every conversation is used in a way to provide Louis the help he needs to improve as a soldier since she doesn't want to see him fall at her side.  Finally Esther imparts Louis with the wisdom that he should learn to be more sure of himself and more prepared for the conflict that is brewing right now.  *Potential Marriage Ending*
  • Theold "The Snake": Initially shaky towards him for his occupation as a thief, further conversation reveals that Theold's father was a victim of the very heist that her father was associated with years ago.  Learning that Theold was even less fortunate in seeing his father executed, she begins to ease her apprehension of him but still wonders why he would embrace the very occupation that resulted in his father's execution.  Finally Esther learns how dire things were for Theold and agrees to make their encounters not the last, but the beginning of a true friendship. *Potential Marriage Ending*

Events:

Can recruit Nyroc if she enters his village in the chapter he appears in.
Conversation:
Nyroc:  What?  Who are you?
Esther:  It... It can't be...
Nyroc: You come here to test my mettle girl?
Esther: No.  Not even thinking of it.
Nyroc: If that's true then I suggest you leave me before my men treat you as a combatant.
Esther: Gr... Why did you put me out here my lady?
Nyroc: Speak to me directly unless you plan to fight me girl.
Esther: ... The neigboring village is under attack.  We could use your help if you have any humanity.
Nyroc: What?!  Damn them they hoped to keep me back!  Out of the way girl!
Esther: Ah!  What?  Where could he be going?
*Nyroc has joined your party.*

The girl who calls herself "Medusa" has no name that she carries for herself.  The only story she was ever told of her childhood was that she was cast to the streets as a baby and was fortunate to be scooped up by the lord who would care for her.  Much of her childhood was ensuring that she was an obedient servant girl, but began to receive a special treatment for her future due to her unique developing eyes.  It was for this that she was kept sheltered for much of her life from stepping outside of her stone temple room.

As the years passed,  she was groomed by her lord to one day become a dancer as he searched for the ideal teacher for her.  The girl who would one day be known come upon a tome of dark magic long neglected to the world.  Upon her first use, she was able to free herself from her imprisonment of the temple and slaughter everyone who imprisoned her for so much of her life.

It was with this newfound freedom that Medusa left to strike out on her own and with no one to hold down her long held potential or give her orders of how to behave.  Because of her past, she has little conception of what it is to have friends or be bound to any code of conduct.  Because of this, Medusa is not receptive to any sort of grief or empathy.  More than anything, she takes pleasure in causing destruction wherever she wanders in causing destruction.  Untamed, those who lived to see her power fear that she could set the world ablaze.

Growth stats:

Medusa starts off with rather poor Health Points, but has a great growth rates per level.
She has above average Magic points and has growth well above the average for her class.
She has very poor Luck and grows at a below average rate.

Skills:

  • Dark Mage: Hex, Anathema
  • Sorcerer: Vengeance, (Level 15 skill)
  • Personal: Rotted Pearl (Increases the attack and decreases the avoid of enemies and allies within 2 tiles)

***

Supports:

  • Scorch: The two gleefully discuss burning things down, but their C support ends when it turns out Medusa is way more okay with the collateral bystander thing than Scorch is. In their B support, Scorch tries to avoid Medusa while she tries to talk to him about his desire for revenge- hearing her repeat his wishes causes him to reconsider the ethics of them. In their A support, Scorch reluctantly thanks Medusa for helping him understand the error of his thinking while simultaneously criticizing her violent behavior. Due to the time they've spent together discussing violence, Medusa is somewhat compelled to consider the points Scorch makes- points she inadvertently helped him realize through her opposite example.
  • Persephone: Medusa takes an interest in Persephone's hair care technique and dancing prowess, being curious as to what kind of life she might have lived had she not violently escaped. The two bond over their previous imprisonment and disdain for forcing captive women to dance. During their support, Medusa expresses disappointment that "the Queen of Hell" isn't much of a hell raiser, but offers to kill her kidnapper anyway.
  • Seadna: Seadna attempts to learn from the more experience Medusa, but is confused by the latter's stunted behavior and repulsed by her bad teeth. Despite this, she continues to associate with the pre-promote and listens to her complaints and backstory over the course of their lessons. By the end of the A support, Medusa herself becomes confused over the unfamiliar feeling of friendship she feels towards Seadna.
  • Duncan: As an idealist, Duncan frantically attempts to convince Medusa of the importance of chivalrous values.
  • Siria: I have no idea how this woman gets recruited into your army, but she and Medusa seem to really like each other until the matter of purpose comes up. Siria wants to destroy the infidels, and Medusa wants to destroy wantonly. They get into a series of heated debates about the purpose and timing of destroying things. Eventually they come to an uneasy truce, agreeing that their debate is unproductive when they could work together to destroy infidels and both get what they want.

During many of these supports, people express shock or confusion towards Medusa's appearance, though this is most focused on in the Persephone support.

You know what, I'll go with another mythological reference, though I'll change it up.

Wukong, Primal Warrior (Male)

Link to comment

A 200% HP growth and decent strength and defence, but mediocre speed and poor skill, luck and resistance.

A strong and tough soldier, Wukong is recruited fairly late game as a reward for saving a small kingdom in an earlier paralogue (in which he appears as a very powerful green unit).

He was brought up sheltered by a minor noble, and trained for army life from a young age. As he knows little of the outside world, he can be very confused by what goes on around him. Thanks to his military upbringing, he is very polite when talking to nobles, while flipping like a switch to informal when around fellow soldiers. Eventually, he does learn to drop his guard around the Lord a bit as the story progrsses, though.

Although not the brightest bulb of the batch, he is very strong and reliable, helping wherever he can. As there is no shortage of demand for strength, he is often greatly appreciated by the less physically strong members of the army. Their smiles cause him to work even harder (often to the point of overworking himself) and create a great aura of kindness throughout the barracks.

He dreams that, once the war is over, he can explore the world and see all the different cultures within it, as he takes great interest in foreign customs and tradition. Although some people take offence at his investigations initially, they quickly warm up to him once they realise his intentions are pure.

  • 2 weeks later...

Wukong's skills:
Already learned: Locktouch, Movement +1, Lucky 7
Can learn: Pass
Personal: Guardian's Gambit (If Wukong is adjacent to an ally, all allies within 3 spaces get +4 Defense and Resistance.)

--------------
Supports:
Wukong's supports are mostly focused on his curiosity at other people and culture, or his genuinely optimistic outlook.

He can get in-your-face to some of the warriors from different lands, but he usually wins them over.

Other supports show him helping the army.

Eloise: Feisty Flames

Dresses in a light but modest cloak. Has bright orange hair that refuses to stay straight, making it look like her back is on fire. Has a somewhat muscular build, while still being light enough to be quick.

Link to comment

Eloise has some typical stats in that her speed and resistance are pretty decent, but her higher strength and HP seem to bring down her magic and especially skill.

Eloise was formerly a princess, before the kingdom she was from was conquered and her surviving family fled to another nation. Her status as a former royal helped with getting her educated, but she had been disinterested with her studies, while also giving herself some time to train herself physically, which helped with getting through some of the more physically gruelling tasks that were part of her magic education. She eventually decided to join the Wizardry guild she had learned from, as despite her disinterest in understanding magic she saw that there were opportunities to use her place to get a position where she'd have a greater degree of freedom that she'd have staying near her family (who had been attempting to claim back the kingdom in her name). Much as they disagreed, their wealth had been much reduced in the years since and let her go make a living. She then spent several years wandering the land finding others with magical affinity and helping them either get an understanding of their ability or to take them somewhere they could learn. As a result of how she often assisted children and her "silver tongue" convincing parents that she could help them while bringing their children away she started being derided by sceptics as "The Infernal Witch", despite her good intentions. She comes across the lord's army after an incident where she was helped by them to defend some children from a threat, which convinced her that she had to take a more proactive approach some time later.

Eloise is cheerful, optimistic and exuberant, often seen doing little things to help others and rushing about whether it's a village or a military camp. She's also patient with others, often letting others talk about themselves and get them to see her as someone to trust. If people try to learn about her family she tends to not go into much detail about where she originally came from however, saying that she doesn't remember where she was born.
